Chapter 63 Embarrassment

"You wanna know what I want?" Roy asked, like he'd just heard the funniest joke ever.

His face turned serious in a flash, and he grabbed Andrew by the collar.

"Do you think I'm just playing around? What do you think I want?" he growled, his voice low and menacing.

Andrew just smirked. "We're not that close, and I don't really know you. Honestly, no one cares enough to try and figure you out."

Even I felt a bit uncomfortable hearing that.

Roy's eyes went red with anger.

Just as I started to get really nervous, Roy suddenly let go and sighed. "Guess you don't care anymore. Fine by me. I'll fight for what I want. Unlike you, a coward."

Andrew didn't take the bait. He just smiled. "Whatever, man."

He added, "But let me remind you, if you don't want to get kicked out again, stay out of her life. You know what'll happen."

With that, Andrew pulled me away, and we left.

Curiosity got the better of me, and I glanced back as we got into the car.

The café had just turned off its lights, and Roy was standing there, letting the rain pour down on him.

A wave of sadness hit me, and I couldn't help but shed a tear.

Andrew noticed and stopped, opening the car door for me. "Why are you crying? Did he do something while I wasn't looking? But I was watching the whole time."

I didn't want anyone to know about my condition. The fewer people who knew, the better.

So I just shook my head. "It's nothing; just thought of something sad. My life feels pretty miserable right now."

Andrew gently wiped away my tears. "It'll get better. It's raining harder; let's get in the car."

I wiped my tears and got in.

No matter how pitiful Roy seemed, it wasn't my place to feel sorry for him.

Once in the car, I quietly thanked Andrew. He had helped me a lot tonight. As we turned a corner, I suddenly saw a familiar figure.

"Wait, I see my friend," I said, making Andrew slow down.

Following my gaze, Andrew saw Amelia holding hands with a woman. They looked close, but I didn't recognize the woman with her.

Worried, I called Amelia.

The phone rang a few times before she answered, "Emily, what's up?"

I kept my eyes on her. "Just missed you. Where are you right now?"

Amelia laughed. "Come find me when you're free. I'm really busy today, just about to take a shower."

Her excuse didn't sit right with me, but I made a few polite remarks and hung up.

Andrew noticed my mood and asked softly, "Worried about your friend? Should we follow them and check it out?"

His voice snapped me back to reality. "Yeah, I'm a bit worried. Oh, right, you've met her before. She's Amelia."

Andrew nodded, waiting for my decision.

I considered going home to ask Jonathan for help, but then I remembered Eric's situation probably needed his attention. After thinking it over, I decided to stay with Andrew.

The mark on me had faded, but Amelia's hadn't been treated at all. If she was being controlled by something, I'd be in big trouble.

"Honestly, this is a lot of hassle. I shouldn't drag more people into it, but I'm worried something might happen tonight, so I have to ask for your help," I said softly.

Andrew just shrugged it off. "Your problems are my problems. No need to apologize."

He hit the gas and followed them, keeping a safe distance.

After a few seconds, he added, "Besides, I've got my own skills. I'm not as weak as you think."

I couldn't argue with that, so I just nodded.

Luckily, the drive was smooth. We followed them all the way to the Green Hill Mansion.

The Green Hill Mansion had a great location, but Eric once mentioned the area had some bad vibes.

The night view was nice, but it was pretty remote.

As we drove up, we got stopped by the security booth at the entrance.

I sighed. "Forget it; we can't get in here."

Places like this were always closed to outsiders. Forcing our way in would definitely raise suspicion.

Andrew was checking his phone and paused when he heard me. "Not going in?"

I nodded, feeling a bit helpless.

Andrew noticed and said casually, "Don't worry; I have property here. We can go right in."

He drove forward, and sure enough, the gate opened automatically as we passed the security checkpoint.

Once inside, I was completely stunned.

I was aware of his wealth, but I hadn't realized he was this rich. I wondered about the status of Eric's company. When could I expect to lead such a lavish lifestyle?

I complained a bit internally, then suddenly felt an unusual coldness on my back.

The mark from Willie's little white snake had faded a lot, but now it was emitting a chilling cold.

I clenched my palm, my face stiffening.

"I wonder which villa they went to," I said, looking at the villas halfway up the mountain.

Aside from everything else, the night view here was really beautiful.

This place was so large that it took us a while to reach the residential area.

Andrew parked his car in his garage, and I got out.

Standing at Andrew's villa entrance, looking down, the winding mountain roads surrounded us, and this spot turned out to be the best in the villa area.

After the rain, the air was particularly fresh.

But the mark on my back kept feeling cold, like it was warning me that something was about to happen.

"Since we got here, we haven't seen them. I have no idea about Amelia's current situation. I can't call her, as it might alert them and put her in danger," I said, clutching my phone and hesitating.

I hadn't seen that woman before and considering that Amelia had deceived me on her behalf, there undoubtedly existed an issue.

Seeing my worried expression, Andrew patted my hand. "Don't worry. Based on my gut feeling, your friend should be fine. Otherwise, we would have heard screams by now."
