Chapter 64 Pills?

I instinctively touched my back, feeling a bit dazed for a moment.

Andrew waved his hand in front of my face, snapping me back to reality.

He unbuttoned his coat and gave me a warm smile. "Hey, since you're already here, why don't you come in and have some hot water? It's way colder up here than in the city. I don't want you catching a cold."

At some point, the door had already swung open.

Andrew's calm smile showed no signs of worry.

I was eager to check out a millionaire's house, but I hadn't found Amelia yet, so I just couldn't think about anything else.

"Forget it, I still need to find Amelia first," I said, glancing around but not seeing any sign of her.

Andrew put his coat back on and walked over to me. "Don't worry, I'll help you look for her."

I nodded gratefully. "Thanks."

He walked beside me, his eyes looking a bit sad. "More than just a thank you, I was hoping to hear some other news."

Andrew suddenly mentioned this before guiding me to a different location.

He knew the terrain here like the back of his hand and started a wide search with his villa as the center.

Finally, we spotted Amelia at the largest villa in the back corner.

The villa's door was open, and the backyard lights were super bright.

There was a huge old tree inside, and they were squatting behind it, bending over like they were digging something.

Seeing their nervous behavior, I squinted to see more clearly. But it was too dark.

The lights by the tree were bright and glaring, giving me a bad feeling about what they were digging up at night.

Thinking about recent events, I suddenly thought of Aaron's stuff.

Could it be...

My eyes narrowed, and I saw them pull out a piece of red cloth and cover a box with it.

I thought, 'Damn, it really is.'

Amelia had just told me she knew nothing about Aaron's stuff, and now she was doing this in this creepy villa. What else had she lied about?

I felt like crying, torn between exposing her true colors and fearing my impulsiveness might get her killed.

While I was deeply conflicted, they had already taken the stuff inside.

With the backyard lights off, the dark yard exuded a profoundly unsettling aura, evoking a sense of discomfort that pervaded my being.

The internet was flooded with stories of my misdeeds. If I could return the stuff quickly, maybe it would be easier to explain. Otherwise, once they found out, I was done for.

Seeing me stay silent, Andrew turned his head and said, "If I remember right, the daughter of that villa's owner passed away recently. Their family has always been in the seafood business; almost all of Starlight City's seafood comes from them."

I remembered complaining to my roommate about how expensive seafood was and hearing some rumors. I just didn't expect it to be their business. But why would Amelia go to their villa in the middle of the night?

Amelia's family was well-off, but compared to such a wealthy family, it was nothing.

Plus, with her personality, if she had such powerful relatives, she would have taken me to indulge in more extravagance, never letting herself suffer any grievances. She wouldn't have complained about the expensive seafood with me.

"What happened to their daughter, why did she die?" I couldn't help but ask.

Andrew glanced at the villa and said casually, "These things are usually kept hush-hush, so no one really knows the exact reason. But ever since it happened, their family rarely comes back. I didn't expect them to be home today, and even have your friend over. The person with her looks a lot like their daughter."

Hearing his explanation, I was stunned.

"If you're scared, I won't say more," Andrew said, giving me a deep look before falling silent.

I paused for a moment, then turned to leave.

I said, "After going through so many strange experiences, things that once seemed unacceptable now feel normal."

I could accept Eric and Roy as well as Jonathan.

With all these stories unfolding, what else could surprise me?

"Actually, if you're worried, I can go in and check for you," he suddenly stopped and said seriously.

I looked at him in shock and quickly shook my head. "No need to trouble you. I'm very grateful you brought me here. Seeing Amelia safe is enough for now. I'll handle the rest myself."

He wasn't surprised by my refusal. He respected all my decisions.

He said, "Of course, if you need anything, just ask. No need to be polite."

I smiled and nodded.

At the villa entrance, he glanced at me once more. "By the way, Roy's my brother by blood, but we're not that tight. I'm not as malicious as he is. I hope you won't push me away just because of him."

I looked down at my shoes and said, "I understand. I never saw you two as the same. Don't worry about it."

"Do you really think so?" He looked at me in surprise.

I nodded seriously.

He didn't say more and escorted me to the villa.

As soon as I got back, I went upstairs to check on Eric.

He was still lying in bed, looking better than yesterday, with fewer black lines on his body.

I didn't want to disturb his rest, so I quickly found Jonathan with the antidote.

Jonathan examined the antidote carefully, sniffed it, and then his eyes lit up. He exclaimed, "It's Harmonyelixir, a great antidote."

But after confirming, he looked at me strangely.

His gaze made me uncomfortable, so I quickly said, "Jonathan, what's with that look?"

Jonathan raised an eyebrow. "Where did you obtain such a potent antidote? And how exactly did you come by it? Be honest with me—did you betray Eric?"

I stiffened for a moment and flicked his forehead.

I looked at him seriously. "Jonathan, what are you saying? Do you really think I'm that untrustworthy?"

Jonathan rubbed his forehead and gave me a few resentful glances. "Not really, but getting the antidote so easily is suspicious. And you know best if you promised anyone anything. This antidote is fine, just take it."

Jonathan handed me the antidote.

I swallowed it without hesitation.

After drinking several sips of tea, I finally felt better.

"Thank you, Jonathan," I said, lying on the chair in a daze after drinking the tea.

Jonathan examined me carefully several times.

He said, "Raise your hand, see if it feels better."

I raised my arm as he instructed and pinched it hard.

It really worked. The previously stiff arm now felt alive.

"I can feel it, it's really better." I excitedly held my arm, tears welling up.

Jonathan glanced at me and smiled as he went back inside.

I excitedly ran back to my room, curled up on the sofa, and carefully watched the sleeping Eric.

What a beautiful face. He was so endearing when he was quiet.

Just as I couldn't resist reaching out to touch Eric's face, he suddenly opened his eyes.
