Chapter 15 Little Hands
The night is for relishing the peace and warmth of a mother, for their little one snuggling next to them, and today a little soul is probably sleeping peacefully with his mother.
The wish of his mother's love and the desire to spend some moments with his mother came true today.
Shrey's POV
I woke up rubbing my eyes as I felt someone's presence beside me, only to find a little kid snuggling next to me; I was startled but composed myself.
I sat straight on the bed, removed the quilt upon me, and switched on the table lamp to view the little one next to me,
He was mumbling something which caught my attention, and I bent toward his side and tried to hear him, "Mumma," that's what I heard, his voice was clear and soft, and he continued calling his mom.
I felt my heart skip a beat, and some unknown sentiments within me, when he slowly opened his eyes and smiled at me, exclaiming, "Mom, I missed you."
I was stumped as he wrapped his little hands around my legs and slept like before.
His gestures were enough reason for me to caress his head and think about the words which swirled off his mouth. "Mom"
Am I really his mom? As I asked myself the question, I couldn't figure it out, so I decided to lie down, but I couldn't because he had his hand around me.
Nevertheless, something clicks inside my brain.
Ahh, wait, where am I, and why is he next to me. This place is surprisingly familiar to me and, at the same time, anonymous to me.
And yet I was comfortable with his presence next to me,
I sighed and glanced toward the Wall-clock; it was quarter after one.
"Mumma sleep," he said softly, but in no time, I heard my stomach rumbling as well
he giggled at the sound, sat straight, rubbed his eyes, hugged me tightly, and said, "Momma is hungry."
I was embarrassed and poised myself to dig my head somewhere
"Mommy, let's make something for you to eat."
uhh, he wants to cook for me, this isn't my house how can I..? I was hesitant, but he grabbed my hand, "let's go, momma" and drifted me outside the room.
Shrey's POV ends
When they left the room, they headed downstairs, and Shrey got a clear view of the four-story house,
featuring an off-white marble floor and wall and large window glasses to allow you to see the garden from within;
"Momma, you go from this side. I will go from this side," He said, pointing to the two wide-facing stairs and running downstairs; Shrey felt anxious and shrieked, "Luke stop running on the stairs." She runs behind him and grabs his hand before he would do anything mischievous.
Shrey scoffed when she realized the unnecessary purpose of the two stairs facing each other.
Luke glanced at his mother with a small smile plastered on his face, said nothing, and quietly followed her,
He knew that his mother remembered nothing about them, but still, she knew her Baby Luke; she still loved him, he thought and felt on cloud nine,
while coming downstairs.
