Scarlett’s Point of View

Scarlett has escaped from jail, and Sara was doing her best to gain Asher’s sympathy, especially when her husband sent the divorce papers to our house. She left no stone unturned to make Asher feel sorry for her, and I didn't blame him. He was the reason why her life got ruined, after all, but he didn't realize she was playing him for a fool. She was Scarlynn’s spy.

One thing was for sure: I'm not going to sit here and watch their plan succeed. Sara will lead me to Scarlynn, and I will kill both of them to get them out of my life. I'm not going to let anyone ruin my happiness and my marriage.

I deserve this happiness. I've been waiting for it for a long time, and I'd do anything to keep it with me, and that includes Asher. He is my happiness, and I'm not losing him to anyone.

“Scarlett,” I flinched, turning my attention to the voice. I let out a deep breath as my eyes landed on Zone and Lina, already seated opposite me.

“Hi,” I cleared my throat and leaned forward to the table, placing the mug of coffee I had in my hand. “Did you get any information?” My brows furrowed, scanning the two of them.

“Well,” Zone averted my gaze, darting over to Lina, gesturing for her to speak, but she shrugged, turning her gaze away from him.

I frowned, confused.

“Do you think I have time for this nonsense?” My voice was sharp and annoyed.

Their behavior was the last thing I needed in my life. I already had enough problems right now.

Zone let out a sharp breath. “We couldn't find anything about Scarlynn. It's like she disappeared into thin air,” I felt my muscles tensing against my skin, waiting for him to continue.

“However, we were able to gather information about Sara.” Zone placed a file on the table, sliding it over to me. “She's indeed working with Scarlynn. All the drama at the restaurant was a setup. She's not even married to that man, and just a day before she moved in here, a sum of money was transferred to her account, and we can guess it was from Scarlynn,” Zone said, leaning against the couch.

I clenched my jaws.
“Give me your gun.” I rose from the couch. I'm going to finish this once and for all. I've had enough of Scarlynn or anyone who thinks they can do whatever they want with me.

Zone’s eyes went wide. “Scarlett, what are you going to do?” He asked, confused.

I threw him a disapproving look, not impressed with his question. I just needed his damn gun, and that's the end of it. He shouldn't have asked me so many questions.

He let out a sigh. Without uttering another word, he slipped his hand into his pocket and yanked out his gun. He rose from the couch, handing over the gun to me. I took it.

“You are welcome to leave. Keep me posted,” I said, turning on my heels and began making my way upstairs. As I reached Sara’s room, I pushed the door open before I stepped into the room.

Sara was seated on her bed, holding the phone in her hands, earphones in her ears, her legs folded together.

I pulled the trigger of my gun, making a clicking sound. She flinched from the bed, her eyes went wide as they landed on the gun in my hands.

“Scarlett, what are you doing?” She stammered, her face now pale, dread etching over her face.

“Stop with this pretense and tell me where Scarlynn is,” I snapped, my voice rising with rage, pointing the gun right at her.

Her eyes went wide, beads of sweat now forming on her forehead.
My nostrils flared, my gaze sharp on her, agitated.

She knew where Scarlynn was, but she was playing dumb with me. Unfortunately, I'm not falling for her nonsense. I'm not Asher, who was blinded by guilt.

“Scarlett, please don't kill me,” her voice laced with dread. “I don't know where Scarlynn is. We only talked on the phone, and I never met her face to face.”

My eyes tightened, staring at her sternly. Obviously, I'm not going to believe any words out of her mouth. She was a liar, and I knew Asher would do the same thing if he knew the truth about her true identity.

“Tell me the damn truth before I blow your brains out, okay?” I tried to keep my voice calm, but a knot in my stomach didn't seem to help at all. Right now, either she tells me the truth, or I'm going to shoot her right here and now.

Suddenly, the door swung open. I froze on the ground as I felt the tip of the gun pointed at my head. I could see from the shadow that it was a woman, but who could it be?

“Don't you dare move, Scarlett, or else I'm going to shoot you.” My eyes widened as I recognized the voice. Tina?
Questions swirled in my head, but I couldn't get any answers. Why the heck would she be pointing a gun at my head right now?

She can kill me for all I care, but I'm not letting this Sara woman live at all. I need to think very quickly and use my brain before I do anything.

In a swift movement, I raised my leg, kicking her backward. She screamed, the gun she held in her hand falling to the ground. I quickly turned and released a bullet, shooting her right in the chest. I turned to Sara, who rose off the bed, ready to leave. I didn't waste more time and released two bullets. She fell to the ground in a pool of blood.

Before I could do anything, something hard hit me on the head. A sharp pain cut through my head, and the gun I held in my hand slipped to the ground as I fell. Everything turned black.
