My House My Husband
My House My Husband
Scarlett’s point of view
I hate what just happened. There's no damn way a person can enter a room of a married couple without knocking on the door, especially with nothing but a towel wrapped around her body. And Asher just went to her room just like that!
What the heck was that?
I bit my lower lip, pacing across the room. Her motive was very clear; she wanted my husband to herself. Because Asher was guilty about what happened in the past, he won't see it or even care. But I do. I care. He's my husband, and there's no way I'd allow her to have her way.
The door to the room swung open, and Asher walked in. I shot him a glare; his brows furrowed, but I didn't say anything to him. I stormed into the bathroom, leaving him standing there.
He should know what he did was wrong, and I didn't like it.
I stepped into the bathroom, shutting the door behind me before I peeled off my clothes and slipped into the shower.
I let the warm water cascade down my body, relaxing my tensed muscles. Trying to calm my boiling rage within me. One thing was for sure. Asher was mine, and I'm not losing him to anyone. That's my final decision. I'd fight for my marriage as much as I can.
I flinched when I felt his arms snaking around my naked waist. He pulled me closer to him, my back colliding with him.
“Sweetheart, are you mad at me?” His voice was barely above a whisper, his head resting on my shoulder, burying his head in my neck.
I bit the inside of my cheeks, trying hard not to give in to the hot sensation of his wet lips against my skin. I'm still mad at him.
“Have you helped Sara fix her shower, or did you also help her take a shower and change her clothes?” A heat rose to my cheeks. Despite being in the shower, I was feeling even more overheated.
Asher held my shoulder, spinning me around so I'd face him, but I refused to meet his gaze. He lifted my chin, making me face him.
“Sweetheart, are you mad at me?” He paused, examining my face. “Did I do anything wrong?”
I cast him a wary gaze. “No, you didn't do anything wrong, dear husband. Your ex-girlfriend entered our room without knocking with nothing but a towel wrapped around her body and asked you to fix her shower, and just like that, you followed her to her room. That was the best move you ever made despite having thousands of workers in this house.”
I was shaking, rage coursing through me. I don't understand why I was actually mad. Was it because Sara was Asher’s ex or because of what she did? I couldn't decide exactly why I was so damn mad.
Asher’s eyebrows pulled together in confusion. “Scarlett.” He tried to touch my shoulder, but I pushed him away. Without a word, I finished taking my shower and stepped out of the bathroom, leaving him inside.
I put on a simple jean and sweater, tied my hair into a bun, and decided to do skin makeup and just applied my skincare products alone. Just when I finished, the door to the bathroom opened, and Asher stepped out.
Before I could walk past him, heading out of the room, he grasped my hand, pulling me into his chest.
“Scarlett, look at me.” Asher’s voice was commanding but also soft. I rolled my eyes as I raised my head, staring into his eyes.
“I'm sorry. I didn't know my actions were going to hurt you. Please forgive me and don't stay mad at me.” He lifted his long fingers to my face, stroking my cheeks gently.
My pulse surged, my eyes locking into his. “Please always remember that I'm your wife, and I get very jealous when another woman tries to get close to you.” I placed my hand over his bare chest, glistening with droplets of water from his wet hair. “You should remember that you belong only to me, and no one else has the right to you.”
He released an amused chuckle, his hand moved below my ass, pulling me closer to him. “I love how you are possessive of me, sweetheart, and the thought of belonging just to you alone sounds so thrilling, don't you think?”
He slammed his lips against mine, but I didn't let him have his way. I shoved him off me, a smirk tugging on my lips. “You should be punished for your actions, dear husband. Today you don't get to touch me.”
A chuckle escaped my lips as I made my way out of the room, leaving him standing there, his mouth hanging open.
As soon as I walked down the stairs, I was welcomed with an aroma of delicious food. I decided to head to the kitchen. My eyes went wide to see Sara busy cooking in the kitchen.
I cleared my throat, gaining her attention, my hands now wrapped around my chest, my gaze locked with hers.
“Oh, it's you!” She flashed a smile at me, but my gaze remained cold on her. “I thought I should make Asher’s favorite breakfast. It's been long since we last met, and I thought I...” I didn't let her finish her sentence.
“Sara, I'm sorry for whatever happened to you in the past, and I truly understand how it must have felt. I've been there too; trust me, I know how it feels. But there's a reality check I think we both need right now. This is my house, Asher is my husband, and you are just a guest here. I'd really appreciate it if you stayed in your lane and didn't cross the line.”
Her lips parted in shock, which we both know was fake, but I wasn't done speaking. “If you need any assistance, there are many maids in this house. Go to them, and they will gladly help you. Stay away from my husband. And please knock before you enter our room. You see, we can't keep our hands off each other, and the next time you might find us...” I paused, “Busy, and I'm sure you don't want that.”
Sara unexpectedly burst into sobs as she ran out of the kitchen, her cries echoing inside the house. Asher had just walked down the stairs, and she rushed to him, wrapping her arms around him.
