CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY-ONE
AURORA'S P.O.V
Later that evening, I was quiet, sitting beside Lucian on a moderately sized couch. Griffin and Talia sat opposite us, spooning each other. Kale and Kieran sat opposite each other, Kale busy on his phone and smiling at something he was watching. I couldn't sit stay, I kept sighing and staring at Lucian, he finally noticed it and nudged me, his face concerned.
"You're quite."
I nodded.
He narrowed his eyes.
"What are you thinking?"
I sighed, staring off into nothing, finding a way to say what I wanted.
"That's actually concerning...she's not sure." Kale blurted out, a look of panic on his face, his phone forgotten.
I rolled my eyes at him, deep in thought, it was happening. I was craving.
"I want something."
"What is it? Tell me, I'll go get it." Lucian urged.
I hesitated, biting my lips.
"Come on, spit it out." Talia said, a smile on her lips.
"Okay fine...chocolate..."
"Done. Is that all?" Lucian began to stand up.
“With chili flakes.” I added. They all stated at me. "What?"
"That's messed up, man." Kale gagged.
"Is this what I'm going to experience when I get pregnant?" Talia stared at Griffin with wide eyes. "Please don't let me be that way."
"Guys it's not me, its the baby. Blame him...or her." I pouted, crossing my arms.
"I'll go get it." Auron's voice rang out from behind me.
"Where did you come from?" Lucian asked him.
He shrugged, "I was with Eleanor, we were catching up. Turns out she finds me an adorable boy. Unlike you. Hee hee!"
"You!" He growled at him, then he shook his head, now on his feet. "Forget it. I'll go get her the chocolate...with chili flakes." He glanced at me and shuddered.
Auron frowned.
“You don’t even know if the kitchen has chili flakes.”
“I will hunt them if I must.” Lucian growled.
I laughed softly, sensing a fight coming up.
“You don’t have to go right now...”
He shook his head, his eyes defiant.
“I absolutely do.”
Kieran atood up and followed them towards the door.
“I’m coming.”
“No you’re not.” Lucian and Auron growled at the same time, Griffin and Kale snickered at the same time, eating a glare from him.
“Yes I am and you are not stopping me.”
They grumbled as they went out,
Talia perked up and shouted.
"Buy extra chocolates." Then she grinned at me, shaking her head. "Kieran still surprises me, the way he seems to have become this overprotective uncle. Its actually funny."
"Godfather, you mean. Its a good thing he's busy with their baby. Our baby won't need to have such a scary godfather." Griffin smiled.
"Come on guys, he's not that bad." I winced, feeling bad for Kieran. They stared at each other before looking back at me.
"Speak for yourself." They said at the same time.
Ten minutes later they were back and I was eagerly sitting, cross-legged, waiting for my chocolate and chili flakes. My mouth was already watering as Lucian handed me the plate carefully..
"Here you go, babe."
"Thank you so much."
I kissed him on the lips briefly and immediately faced my plate.
The plate was deep in the center and filled to the brim with dark chunks of chocolate, a small cup of honey by the side. I dipped a bar in the honey first, then in the chili flakes and chewed.
They all watched me, I froze halfway.
Lucian almost put his face in mne, his eyes darted all over my face as he asked, his voice laden with fear.
"...well?"
Talia clicked her tongue, "Why isn't she saying anything?"
I chewed slowly and swallowed. I felt tears on my eyes, my vision blurring.
“Oh no,” Auron whispered.
"She doesn't like it." Kale almost wailed.
My eyes flicked to Lucian as a smile bloomed on my face.
“It’s perfect.” I cried out.
The sweet taste of chocolate, the spicy taste and the tanginess of honey on my tongue was so perfect. It was heavy. I let out a moan and took another bite.
Lucian exhaled and let his head fall on my shoulders, the others followed suit in exhaling.
"Thank goodness. You had me there for a while."
Kale collapsed into a chair dramatically. “We almost lost him, I saw the blood draining from his face.”
"As if you didn't feel the same way." Lucian snapped at him, relaxing into the couch. I kissed his cheek.
"You are amazing."
His face immediately got red as he grimned.
"Of course I am."
"Ahem!" Someone cleared their throat, we looked, Auron, Jake and Kieran were staring at me with pounted glares. I sniled sheeishly.
"Sorry. You guys are also amazing. You have no idea."
"Thank you."
"Better."
"I already knew that, I just wanted you to say it."
They sat back, satisfied.
Then Lucian casually mentioned,
“We’ll have a small training session later in the gym.”
I perked up. “Oh good, I’ll join.” I need to do something e exercise anyway.
“No.” Lucian growled.
I blinked at him, frowning.
"No? Why?"
They all looked at me, Lucian snorted as he wagged a finger in front of me, his face tensed.
"From now on, no training, no running, no jumping, no fighting, no breathing too aggressively. In fact, no dong anything that will stress you or the baby.”
Griffin smirked.
“Did you just make a list of what she can't do?”
"I'm going to make more than a list if it means keeping her safe. I'm not taking any chances."
I sighed and stood up, placing my hands on my hips as I faced him.
"Lucian." I called his name slowly.
"Yes, light of my life." He answered carefully, I think someone gagged.
“I am only pregnant, stop treating me like I'm fragile glass.”
His eyebrows shot up, he stood up.
“You ripped someone’s head off last week.”
“And?”
“And now you are carrying my child.”
I stepped closer, my eyes narrowed, does he think I got weak because I'm pregnant? I can show him its the opposite.
“And that means I stop being me? That I stop being strong? Come on, you know I can take care of myself.”
He hesitated for a while, his face drawn, the he sighed.
"I know you can take care of yourself, I do, but..."
