Chapter 175 175
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY-FIVE
AURON'S P.O.V
He shook his head.
"You don't understand, Auron. I did it all for you. I wanted to make you strong, to make you the most powerful alpha this pack has ever seen."
I laughed, my shoulders shaking with the action.
"You call manipulating me, lying to me, and trying to kill my sister making me strong? You're delusional, Elder Mikhail."
His face twisted in anger, and he took a step closer to me, pointing a finger at me.
"You ungrateful wretch! I took you in, I raised you, I made you the alpha of this pack. And this is how you repay me? By locking me here?"
I raised an eyebrow, feeling like laughing but didn't.
"So, you're admitting it then? You did plan to kill Aurora and take her powers for yourself?"
His face paled as he realized his mistake. "No...I meant...Auron, I..."
"Save it, Elder Mikhail. That's a different story, now I need to know..." I closed my eyes and took a deep breath before opening them again. "...did you ever care about me? Did you ever take me...as your family?" The tiny gleamer of hope that he might have cared, refused to be put out yet.
He snorted lightly.
"If I answer you truthfully, will you still spare me?"
I said nothing, just kept watching him steadily.
He shrugged and blew out a breath, a smile on his lips.
"To answer your question, its a no."
He laughed out as he saw the crestfallen look on my face which I thought I had hidden quick, but I guess I didn't.
"I never saw you as family, you were my tool. The tool I was going to use and reach greatness." His face twisted, and he spat at my feet. "Fine. Yes, I wanted the powers. And I would have gotten them, too, if you hadn't been so weak."
"What do you mean?"
He scoffed, his eyes gleaming with triumph. "I knew who you were from the beginning, Auron. I knew you were the last of the Bloodfang line. And I knew that if I could just get the powers that your people were known for, I would be unstoppable."
I felt a chill run down my spine, I narrowed my eyes at him.
"What are you talking about?"
His smile was like a knife.
"I was there when your whole clan were anilated, I found you, Auron. I found you when you were just a baby, covered in blood, crying for your parents. For some reason, when your parents were escaping, each of them took one of you but got separated in the way. Your father died while carrying you, same thing for your mother who was holding your sister. I didn't care that a strange man took your sister, I had no need for women because they are all weaklings. So I wanted to take you..."
"But you didn't at first." I interrupted with a growl. I wanted to ask him why he couldn't have helped my parents but I thought better of it. I'm sure if he had met them alive, he would have killed them.
"Yes, I took you and sold you to a group of people...scavengers, you called them. I paid them handsomely to take you in and raise you but the catch was that you had to suffer."
I swallowed the lump in my throat, my fingers digging into my palms.
"You mean...you mean you were the one..." My voice trembled, my nose fkarung a d my eyes getting hot. "...you sent me to those...monsters? They almost killed me...they mistreated me...they..."
He loudly snickered, his eyes dancing with delight.
"That was the point, you fool."
"Auron, let me just hit him once, please " Derek growled, his hands flexing to show how badly he wanted to hit him, but I shook my head.
"No, let him be. For now." I needed to hear everything.
"The point was to make you suffer until you just wanted to leave them. So that when I came in, you would follow me blindly, trusting me with everything you had. Why?" He leaned in, "...because to you...I was the one who took you out of your pain and darkness. So you just had no choice but you do what I said, even if it did t make sense."
I nodded, my throat feeling tight.
"Ironic isn't it, you we're the one who did this to me...the one who put me in the midst of those savages." Memories of all the pain and hardships I had been through, those times I had wished for death as long as I was away from them flashed through my mind.
"But you said nothing and kept quiet as I went after each of them and killed them in your front."
He shrugged.
"They needed to die anyway, their job was already done. I did them a mercy when I left them alive after taking you."
I felt the tears burning in my eyes, not able to hold it any longer, I turned and faced the wall. Derek and Gail's face looked stormy with anger, as if they wanted to fight him on my behalf. In due time, not now. His satisfying laugh rang behind me, knowing that I was pained by his words.
He mocked me.
"Oh Auron, you can't be such a cry baby, its not how I raised you. Is it?" He continued laughing.
I took a deep breath, clearing my throat and faced him again. His eyes had on a crazy glint that told me that he had finally given up on his sanity. He was a crazy man who was running on the joy of what he did to me.
"Keep on talking. I want to know everything."
His eyes curved into a grin.
"If you say so. I took you in, trained you to be the hard man you are right now. And when the age came for your awakening..." He balled his hands into fists, a look of hatred and rage on his face. "...you disappointed me. You became a failed cause." He snorted. "Imagine it what felt like, to finally discover that all your hopes and dreams might never come to pass. I almost gave up on you, but then I remembered. You weren't the only person that survived that night. Your sister, twin sister also survived." He smirked, "I searched for her whereabouts until I found her in the sane pack that had killed her in the first place. I followed her and saw that she was already awakening, she was going to have the powers that I was searching for. I should have taken her in the first place and left you." He sneered at me.
I squared my shoulders and glared at him.
"And I'm glad you didn't, or I would have killed you once I had found out."
He paid no need to me and continued.
"That's when I had a brilliant idea. I looked and found that there was a way I could still have the powers. All I just had to do was to bring her here, get the right people to work on it and I would have it in no time. But then...I had another predicament..."
