Chapter 49 Cursed Salvation
I just stared blankly at what Kaizer said to me. After all the things I said to him, despite the things I shouldn’t have done, despite turning my back on him, this is how he welcomes me.
I don’t deserve this. Why are you like this, Kaizer? I am not your ideal mate. I’m just a human girl who finds it hard to trust people.
We kept looking at each other as he gently wiped my tears. I wanted to hug him so tight. I wanted to feel his arms around me again, feel his hands run through my hair, hear him call my name. Damn it. Why did I doubt the man who waited for me for years?
“Kaizer…”
“Saera!”
We both turned to Princess Tatiana, who was now slumped on the floor. She couldn’t move her right shoulder anymore because it was covered in ice.
“I kept you away from him! I kept you away from the Igor! They will ruin you! They will ruin your life! Don’t you believe what you saw? This fire on my face? These women!” She pointed at the destined women still covered in ice. “And the past! Everything will happen again! They’re just using you!”
My chest felt heavy again at what the princess said.
“Oh fuck! Should I kill her?” I heard Randall approaching me and Kaizer.
Kaizer just stared at the princess and then at me, like he was waiting for what I would say.
“Randall, Travis.” Travis quickly appeared too. “Can you please hold the Princess?”
The Lancasters looked at me in confusion.
“No! No please… Saera…”
I felt someone grab my foot. One of Tatiana’s triplet brothers.
“She only wanted to help you…” another brother said with difficulty as he tried to stand despite his wounds.
I was shocked when Kaizer kicked the man’s hand away from my foot without hesitation, making him cry out in pain.
“So now you’ll kill me, Saera? If so, I picked the wrong woman to help. You’ve been blinded by the Lancasters.”
I could feel Randall holding back his anger, while Kaizer and Travis stayed calm at what the princess was saying.
“I don’t know what you want to happen, Saera. I hope you can quiet this crazy princess down,” Randall said irritably.
Travis and Randall quickly moved to my side and held the princess, who was struggling hard. She couldn’t fight two vampires alone.
“Don’t touch her!”
The princess’s brothers suddenly found strength to stand and charge at Randall and Travis but they never made it to the Lancasters as they were trapped together in a huge block of ice.
They tried punching it several times, but they couldn’t break it.
“Let me go! You filthy Lancasters!”
I started walking toward the struggling princess, who was being held by the two brothers.
“I’ve been wondering about this for a long time, dear princess…”
Her eyes glared at me, full of emotion, anger, sadness, confusion, regret, and resentment.
“Don’t touch me, Saera! Traitor!”
I shook my head at her several times. Now I understand everything that’s happened from the start. I don’t know how to thank the beautiful mermaid who helped me. I now understand better why I was brought to Nalva Avirife.
“I was brought here on purpose, Princess Tatiana, not to be saved from the Lancasters, but to save and help you. The women in the ice called me from the mirror, Princess Tatiana.”
The Lancasters all frowned at what I said.
“They’re all dead,” Randall answered quickly.
“But we have a link, Randall. They talked to me when I touched the ice covering them.”
The princess stopped struggling at what I said.
I kept walking closer to the princess, and as I did, I bit my own fang near my wrist.
“Oh! I can do that too, Saera! I can heal people too! I did try my best! This burn can’t be removed! Stop being so kind! Traitor!”
I smiled sadly at her. I quickly pulled the necklace Queen Esmeray gave me, removed the small cap, and poured the yellow liquid onto the blood flowing from my wrist.
I mixed my blood and the yellow liquid in my hands. When I reached the crying princess’s face, I spread the blood from my hands on it.
“This isn’t ordinary fire, dear princess. You were cursed. A curse destroyed your beautiful face…”
I don’t know if what I’m doing is right. But if I just stand here and do nothing, I’ll always be a useless destined woman.
Even Travis and Randall stared in shock as they saw the woman with burn on her face start to return to her original beauty.
“Damn, you’re amazing, Saera…” Travis said in awe.
“Where did you learn to do that?”
Once the princess’s beauty was fully back, the brothers let her go. She slumped to the floor again, holding her face in disbelief.
“Is that your ability, Saera?” I heard Kaizer ask from behind me.
I turned slowly to look at him.
“Yes, your highness,” I answered Kaizer, who just smiled slightly at me.
“Let’s go,” Kaizer held out his hand to me. I was about to take it when I automatically turned back to the women still covered in ice.
Even Princess Tatiana stood up, she felt what I felt too.
“Their hearts are beating…”
Princess Tatiana and I almost said it at the same time. We quickly went to where the destined women were.
The Lancasters followed us right away.
“How did you steal these from Tethoris, woman?” Kaizer asked coldly.
“Will they be well taken care of in Tethoris? You just use them as decorations, you don’t know how to respect them,” the princess answered as she gently touched the ice covering the women.
“Did… did you kill them, Kaizer?” I asked him nervously, my voice shaking.
“Yes, I did kill them."
