Chapter 92 Midnight Game Session
"You've been getting up at 2 AM to play games every single night for a week now."
"Each gaming session lasts between two to three hours."
"You didn't play last Friday night. Did something happen?"
Felix was really anxious!
"Last Friday, I definitely slept well!"
Catherine shook her head, pulled up Felix's gaming account, opened the account's hidden program, and tracked the login times through the backend data.
All the deleted information was restored.
"Last Friday, you should have been playing games with my grandpa. His gaming console showed it was running all night last Friday."
Marcus only started secretly reading comics after he discovered that Catherine could see everything on his gaming console.
Alexander's brow furrowed deeply. He looked at Felix with disapproval, worry, helplessness, and a bit of anger.
"Grandpa, Catherine works so hard making your medicine every time. If you keep being this irresponsible, she won't need to look after you anymore."
Felix's medicine wasn't complicated, but Catherine made it herself every time.
Whenever Alexander waited outside Moon Laboratory, he could only see her figure late at night.
Every time he saw the faint dark circles under Catherine's eyes, he felt both heartache and gratitude.
Yet Felix was still so disobedient!
"No, no! I'll definitely behave from now on. It's just that the game is so interesting, I just couldn't get past the level no matter what. I kept thinking about it and couldn't sleep, so I woke Marcus up to figure it out together, and then we both ended up not sleeping."
Catherine was speechless.
So staying up together somehow made it okay?
The games she gave Felix to play were just little games she'd developed when she was bored, just to pass the time.
She just didn't expect Mars and the others to take them, turn them into proper games, and they became a huge hit, even making quite a bit of money.
Alexander disapproved: "Grandpa, that's no excuse for not listening. Catherine is a doctor, and Gavin has told you that you must rest well. Just because of some games, you do this?"
Felix had lived most of his life with a decisive and commanding personality. Now being scolded by Alexander, he felt a bit embarrassed.
"What do you know? That game is really hard. Even if you tried, you couldn't beat it."
Felix's eyes darted around, and he shoved his gaming console into Alexander's hands.
"If you can beat it within half an hour, I'll promise not to get up in the middle of the night to play games!"
Alexander looked at him helplessly.
Felix was getting old, and now he was playing these kids' games.
"This is a two-player game. You and Catherine play together. If you two can beat it in half an hour, I'll definitely behave from now on."
Felix had it all figured out.
This game was really hard. Even studying it every day with the gaming console didn't guarantee beating it.
Let alone giving them just half an hour.
Alexander usually didn't like playing games. Besides making money, he had no other hobbies, so he definitely couldn't beat it.
As for Catherine, Felix had specifically asked some young nurses from the hospital to play this game before, and they couldn't even get past the first level.
Even though Catherine was very smart, she definitely couldn't beat all the levels!
Then he could play games freely in the future!
Alexander saw through Felix's intentions right away.
He picked up the gaming console and looked at Catherine.
"Interested in playing a round with me? I'm really sorry, my grandpa is causing you trouble."
Catherine pressed her lips together and skillfully connected her console with Alexander's.
"Let's start."
Felix quickly ran to get Marcus, who was still secretly reading comics, to come watch.
Catherine had designed a puzzle game, but each level was simulated as a battlefield.
It required very strict logic to beat, and each level was set up very cleverly.
She and Alexander sat together, each controlling their own gaming console.
The two didn't exchange many words, but they were very in sync.
Alexander smiled slightly, his movements smooth.
This was his first time playing games with Catherine. Through the game strategy, he could sense her personality - in many places, she showed rare sharpness and aggression.
From the program she just used to check Felix's gaming time, what she knew probably exceeded his expectations.
It seemed he had found a treasure.
Ten minutes later, the game screen showed "Level Complete."
Felix and Marcus had played this game themselves and knew how difficult it was.
Seeing that completion screen, they both widened their eyes in disbelief.
"You actually beat it, and it only took ten minutes!"
Marcus looked at Catherine with a smile: "Catherine, have you played this game before?"
Catherine shook her head: "No."
Although she had developed this game herself, Mars and the others had taken it for upgrades and modifications, so this was her first time playing the finished version.
"Catherine is so smart!"
Marcus was very satisfied.
Being able to beat this game so quickly could only mean Catherine had very sharp tactics and strong reaction abilities.
Truly his granddaughter!
Alexander put away the gaming console and handed it directly to the bodyguard standing behind him.
"From now on, Grandpa can only play games for two hours a day, and only during the daytime."
"Yes, Mr. Howard!"
Felix looked like he was about to cry!
And it was his own bet that he'd made. Who knew they'd both be so smart!
Only two hours a day - wasn't this killing him?
"Catherine, when can I be discharged? Can I leave tomorrow?"
He just wanted to go home quickly to play games. Once he got home, Alexander couldn't control him anymore.
"Next month. If you keep staying up late like this, it might have to be next year."
When Felix heard he might not be discharged until next year, he got really anxious.
"No, no! I definitely won't stay up late. Remember to come pick me up next month!"
Marcus lifted his foot and kicked Felix in the butt.
"What's wrong with you? Of course my granddaughter will come to pick me up when I'm discharged. Why would she pick you up?"
"What's wrong with picking me up? Stop making trouble. If you hadn't dragged me to play games in the middle of the night, how would Catherine have found out?"
Marcus felt Catherine's gaze on him and, afraid of being implicated, immediately panicked.
"Don't talk nonsense. I sleep well every night. Who dragged you to play games? Your skills are so bad, playing with you is just a waste of time."
"You didn't play games? Right, right, right. You just get up in the middle of the night to read comics. You'll go blind sooner or later."
Catherine frowned slightly and looked at Marcus seriously.
"Grandpa, I'll take all your comics with me when I leave. Before you're discharged, you should rest properly."
When Marcus heard all his comics would be taken away, he looked at Catherine pitifully: "Can you leave me just one? Just one!"
