Chapter 91 Marcus's Divorce

Chapter 91 Marcus's Divorce

"Come on, who's scared of you? You were already defeated by me back then!"

When Felix heard this, he immediately rolled up his sleeves and lunged at Marcus.

"You still have the nerve to bring up the past? You clearly promised to take good care of her, and what happened? I should never have backed out back then!"

Talking about the past, the two old men got all worked up like they'd taken stimulants, neither willing to give in.

"You wouldn't back out? She wouldn't even look at you. Even if you hadn't backed out, it wouldn't have made any difference!"

Felix got more and more upset, even lifting his foot to kick Marcus.

"She's dead, are you satisfied now?"

Marcus sat on the edge of the bed with his cane, his eyes looking dejected.

"Satisfied or not, one day I'll go to heaven to be with her too."

"All this nonsense talk—I think I'd better go first, then you won't have a chance."

"In your dreams. Even if you go, she still won't pay attention to you."

Felix was about to throw punches, and the two old men quickly started fighting again.

The bodyguards and nurses didn't dare step forward, afraid of accidentally hurting the two elderly men.

Alexander had no choice but to personally separate them.

Catherine was a bit curious. Every time they argued, they'd bring up the past, but this was the first time she'd seen them this emotional.

"Who are you talking about?"

Marcus's eyes were full of deep memories, and a smile spread across his lips, as if returning to the past.

"An old friend. Not important anymore."

Felix got upset again and said angrily, "Marcus, how can you be so heartless? How dare you say she's not important? She was so unlucky to meet a bad man like you!"

Catherine stayed silent.

To still be called a bad man at this age—Marcus got angry too.

"You're not a bad man? You said you liked her while marrying someone else!"

"That's because I knew I couldn't win her over! Unlike you—playing around and then abandoning her!"

Felix got angry just talking about it.

"Who told her to only like you back then!"

"Who she liked has nothing to do with you."

When they were young, they both liked the same person, but that person only had eyes for Marcus.

Even though that person was gone now, to both old men she was still a sacred existence that couldn't be tarnished.

Just as the two old men were about to start fighting again, Catherine said calmly, "Whoever makes a move won't be allowed to leave the hospital."

As soon as she said this, both old men immediately quieted down.

Whether they could leave the hospital now was entirely up to Catherine!

"I've been very obedient! I took all the medicine you sent!"

"I took it too! You're acting like you're the only one who took it. I've been doing everything according to Catherine's instructions."

Watching the two old men try every way to prove they'd been obedient recently, Catherine's face showed a faint smile.

Her gaze fell on the comic books under the bed.

"Who brought these comics? Didn't I say they're bad for your eyes and you should read less?"

Marcus quickly stretched out his foot and kicked those comic books further under the bed.

Felix tucked his game console deeper into the blankets.

They were afraid Catherine would discover their precious toys and not let them leave the hospital!

Marcus quickly changed the subject.

"Catherine, you just came from your grandmother's? What did she say to you this time?"

Catherine glanced at Alexander standing beside her.

"Nothing much, just wants me to cancel the engagement with the Howard family."

Felix immediately jumped up from the bed, his eyes wide.

"You didn't agree, right? That Lila is so mean! Is she jealous that I have such a great granddaughter-in-law! Don't listen to her nonsense. I really like you a lot. Even if Alexander isn't good enough for you, I can find you a suitable man from the Howard family!"

Alexander looked at Felix speechlessly.

Though Felix said this, he was still thinking of Alexander.

"Alexander may have a bad temper and poor personality, but he's good-looking and can make money. Catherine, just for that reason, spend more time with him. If it really doesn't work out, I'll get you someone else!"

"As for your grandmother, hardly anything she says is worth listening to."

Catherine glanced at the speechless Alexander beside her, a smile on her lips too.

"I didn't agree."

Felix breathed a sigh of relief and looked at Marcus sitting beside him.

"This is your family business. You handle it yourself."

They could see right through what that Lila wanted to do.

Wasn't it just hoping that Esme, whom she'd been raising, could marry Alexander?

Marcus felt a bit tired and sighed.

"I know what you mean. I ended my marriage with her last month. But she is Bethany's mother after all, so I can't be too extreme about it."

Catherine was also a bit surprised.

Marcus had quietly divorced Lila?

And it was arranged last month. Given Marcus's status, divorce required a long preparation time with complicated procedures.

That meant Marcus had been preparing for the divorce even earlier.

Felix smiled meaningfully, looking like a cunning old fox.

"If it weren't for certain things I can't tell you, you probably would have divorced long ago."

He'd been keeping a secret all these years—it was really hard work!

Marcus keenly caught the key point.

"What do you mean? What can't you tell me?"

"There are lots of things I can't tell you."

Marcus narrowed his eyes, feeling something was off.

Felix knew he'd said too much, patted his mouth, and happily pulled Catherine to his room to play games.

When he could finally reveal that secret, there would be plenty for Marcus to regret!

"Catherine, how come I just can't beat that game you told me about last time! It's driving me crazy!"

Felix took out his game console and found the game Catherine had taught him to play last time.

He'd already set the game time—Catherine would never discover he'd been secretly playing games in the middle of the night.

Catherine took the game console and skillfully opened the backend program, clicking on all the hidden settings.

A string of numbers appeared on the screen, constantly scrolling.

Catherine's fingers flew rapidly, and she quickly found all the recent time periods when the game console was used.

"Mr. Howard, you were still playing games at 3 AM yesterday."

Felix's eyes went wide.

"I just got up to use the bathroom then!"

"Used the bathroom for three hours?"

"I'm old, constipation is normal."

Catherine nodded. "Then I'll prescribe some appropriate medicine for you. It'll just be a bit bitter."

Felix looked like he was about to cry!

He'd clearly had professionals help him hide the time, and they'd all said they could directly delete all traces of him playing games.

How did Catherine find it out so easily!
