Chapter 164: Fooling Oliver
At the alley entrance.
The sedan surrounded by several motorcycles was completely wrecked, and the driver had been beaten half to death and thrown by the roadside.
Saturn said disdainfully, "With this level of skill, he dares to create a car accident for Catherine? What nerve."
The driver couldn't speak - all his teeth had been knocked out!
He was completely confused. Didn't Oliver say he was just dealing with a high school student?
This car wasn't even a luxury vehicle, so how could Catherine be so lucky?
He had rammed into her several times until his own hood was dented, yet Catherine's car remained intact without a single scratch!
Several people suddenly appeared from the alley entrance and rushed over to grab the driver from the ground.
The leader said quietly, "Are you the people Alexander arranged to protect Catherine? We're sent by Marcus to protect Catherine's safety at all times!"
Saturn immediately nodded, "Yes, that's exactly right - we're arranged by Alexander."
Catherine didn't like exposing her identity in front of the Windsor family people, which Saturn could understand.
Catherine had made so much money from the Windsor family - of course she didn't want to be discovered!
Really quite sneaky.
"Hand him over to us. Or does Alexander have other plans? Philip is waiting to use him."
Hearing that Philip had other uses for him, Saturn agreed. After all, they were all Catherine's family - it didn't matter who took him.
"No problem, take him. We'd only use him as fertilizer anyway. What's Philip planning to do?"
"Philip said you'll find out when the time comes!"
Gallery office.
Who knows how much time had passed, but Alexander was still holding Catherine with no intention of letting go.
A cough suddenly rang out: "Young people these days, so improper!"
Dominic looked at the two people embracing and felt he couldn't watch anymore.
He had been waiting for Catherine in her office. Halfway through, he got too tired from playing games and simply went to sleep in Catherine's office lounge.
He didn't expect to come out and see these two hugging, with no intention of separating!
Alexander reluctantly loosened his arms. Before separating, he planted a kiss on Catherine's head, fleeting as a moment.
"Sorry, Dominic, didn't notice you were here."
Dominic rolled his eyes.
"Come on, if you two ever really can't hear when there's an extra person in the room, just wait to get killed on the street."
One was the leader of Shadow Syndicate, the other the leader of Faceless Ones.
If they didn't even have this much awareness, they might as well not live - they'd have died in some corner long ago.
They clearly knew he came in but deliberately pretended not to hear!
Young people these days just don't know the meaning of restraint.
"Everything outside settled? I noticed the gallery across the street is in a good location - could be used after some renovation."
Dominic glanced at Alexander, fairly satisfied with what he'd done.
If Alexander had spoken up for that Esme just now, he would have immediately contacted those old folks from Galactic Aurora Collective who weren't dead yet to give Alexander a beating!
Catherine nodded, "Settled. I need to go to Ironclad Jail tomorrow. If you need anything, have Mars do it for you."
Dominic said casually, "Go ahead. Oscar is coming to Imperia City in a couple days - just make sure you're back in time."
"I'll definitely be back."
Alexander was somewhat surprised to hear Oscar's name!
The Jade Oracle of Stellara's older generation had quite a reputation. Legend had it that even a worthless stone could yield amazing jade in his hands, and his business empire spanned the entire world!
The largest quarry in the international market was Oscar's business. Though he hadn't gambled on stones in years, no one dared underestimate this title!
From how Catherine and Dominic acted, they must be quite familiar with Oscar.
Alexander felt slightly amazed - how many more surprises did his fiancée have that she hadn't told him?
He really had found a treasure!
Dominic reached out his hand toward Catherine.
"The Hughes family people have been looking for me several times lately - so annoying. Give me some poison. Actually, forget it - just go poison them directly yourself. Let them die!"
Catherine said helplessly, "This is Imperia City, not some lawless zone."
"What's the difference? Just make sure they can't bother me. There's a banquet tonight - come with me."
Dominic really hated trouble. To avoid those things, he'd rather stay on his island painting every day.
If Oscar hadn't invited him in advance, and if he hadn't just happened to know Catherine had a gallery and wanted to check it out for her, he wouldn't have left the island at all!
Catherine thought for a moment, "Is it the Hughes family's banquet? Who's been bothering you?"
"It's not the Hughes family's banquet - it's an old friend's birthday, just going to join the fun. The Hughes family people will definitely be there, and they're annoying to look at. It's that Michael - he's called me over ten times!"
And every time at the most critical moment in his games. Block one number and he calls from another.
Dominic was furious. He turned around and called Michael back to give him a piece of his mind.
Made him lose his game - in Dominic's eyes, Michael was a complete jerk!
"Catherine, help me play a game later and boost my score!"
"Okay."
Serenitia City, The Smith Villa.
Oliver held his phone, anxiously waiting for the person he'd arranged to call back and tell him everything was done.
When the phone rang, Oliver nearly jumped out of his chair.
"How did it go? Did you get it?"
"Got it. You lied to me - there was no need for a car accident at all. I told Catherine you wanted her bracelet and she agreed, but she wants a maple tree ornament from Elodie's room. Oliver, do you have this thing at your house?"
Elodie had loved maple trees when she was alive. There really was a worthless maple tree ornament in her room - just made from a broken stone, completely worthless.
Oliver was somewhat guarded: "She really said she'd trade?"
That bracelet was so valuable - why would Catherine trade it for a worthless ornament?
"Yeah, she said it was a stone she picked up in the yard before and carved herself - not valuable but very important. I don't think she knows how valuable that bracelet is. Good thing there was no car accident, or the bracelet would've broken too!"
Hearing the bracelet almost got damaged, Oliver became nervous too. "The bracelet's okay, right?"
"It's fine. Are we trading or not, Oliver?"
Oliver was still hesitant. He got up and walked to Elodie's former room, picking up the ornament from the desk. "Let me get it appraised first. Tell her we'll trade! I'm heading out now."
He was being very cautious now. What if this thing was valuable and Catherine was scamming him?
Oliver hung up and bit his lip, spending big money to find a professional appraiser in the industry. He sent over a photo of the maple tree sculpture.
[Could you please help me see if this thing is some kind of treasure?]
