Chapter 108 The Whole World, Catherine is Still the Best!
Charles told Catherine more things, mostly with Catherine asking questions and him explaining what he had done.
Hearing that Steven had driven to Osflow himself, Catherine was a bit confused.
Since they had knocked him out directly, how did the surveillance footage capture Steven driving there himself?
Charles explained, "Juniper tampered with the surveillance and replaced that day's footage with previous footage of Steven driving to Osflow."
"What about getting them arrested?"
Even though that mountain area was Charles's private property, it would still be somewhat difficult to get Oliver and Steven convicted.
"Philip bought that whole mountain area and turned it into a nature reserve. Tomb raiding in a protected area is quite serious, plus trespassing and intentional destruction of property—it all adds up to enough."
"Richard installed lots of surveillance cameras and hired many mountain patrol guards. The chain of evidence is solid."
So several people from the Windsor family were all involved in this?
Catherine pressed her lips together, a warm smile spreading across her face.
"Thank you. This is just a small matter though, no need to take up your time."
"When it comes to you, nothing is small—everything matters."
Charles spoke with complete seriousness. "I know you got used to handling everything alone at the Smith family, but now you have family you can trust. You're the youngest in our family, so you should be a bit more willful."
George leaned against the office doorway, rubbing his forehead with a sigh.
"Just said Charles definitely wouldn't sell us out, and he turned around and did exactly that."
Despite his words, he looked at Catherine without any blame, his gaze incredibly gentle.
"Catherine, is Alexander with you?"
Catherine glanced at Alexander beside her and handed over her phone.
Charles got straight to the point.
"Esme contacted an overseas account. I suspect it's the person supplying her with Vitality Pills."
"I know. I've already arranged for people to track it."
The Howard Group's people were monitoring all of Esme's outgoing calls in real time.
"Is George there?"
Alexander casually turned on the speakerphone.
"George, since you happen to be there, go keep an eye on Esme."
George nearly died of frustration!
He wanted to stay by Catherine's side too!
"Charles, it's not like we don't have other people. Why does it have to be me watching her?"
Charles never had much patience with his brothers.
"I checked your surgery schedule. You're not operating for the next three days."
"I'm still busy! I've already planned to spend these three days taking Catherine around!"
He'd been working non-stop and finally managed to squeeze out some time to hang out with Catherine.
Charles said coldly, "The Vitality Pills are extremely important and threaten Marcus's safety. You're a doctor—it makes perfect sense for you to handle this."
Making him watch Esme—did that sound reasonable?
Charles had always held high authority in the Windsor family. After Bethany devoted herself to charity work, all the Windsor children listened to Charles.
George said dejectedly, "Fine, I'll go."
After hanging up, George looked at Catherine quite dramatically.
"Catherine, I'm going now!"
Catherine found his expression amusing. George looked absolutely pitiful.
"George, next time you're off, I'll go out with you."
George's lifeless eyes instantly brightened!
Catherine really was the best person in the whole world!
George warned Alexander to take good care of Catherine, then resignedly prepared to leave and carry out Charles's assignment.
"Mr. Howard, I left in such a hurry I didn't bring anyone. Let me borrow your secretary for a couple days, and I'll return her soon."
"If she agrees, I have no objection."
Annie's work was excellent. George was finding himself a good assistant.
George left reluctantly.
At the Osflow police station, Steven stared at the video footage in shock.
He really had driven to Osflow himself!
Oliver sneered, "Looks like someone's got brain cancer and can forget even something like this."
Steven was genuinely shocked.
He had no memory of this at all!
The Brown family sat on the other side, nervously watching Oliver.
Celeste said quietly, "Honey, let's talk about whatever it is at home. The most important thing now is getting out of here."
Oliver got angry just looking at the three of them!
"Talk at home? So you can keep stealing my money to support the Brown family?"
Being scolded like this by Oliver in front of the Johnson family, Celeste felt humiliated.
"What do you mean by that? What do you mean stealing your money? Your money is my money!"
Oliver got furious and slammed the table, then grimaced in pain.
"I didn't know about these expenses all these years. You all have to pay me back. I'm telling you, I'm sick now and need money to save my life. If you don't return the money, I'll divorce you!"
Celeste looked at him in disbelief!
He actually wanted to divorce her?
"Are you crazy? We've been married all these years, and you want to divorce me over this little bit of money?"
Oliver was so angry he could spit blood. "This little bit? Do you have any idea how much money you've given the Brown family?"
Hearing about returning money, both Declan and Anouk got anxious.
They'd already used Oliver's money to buy houses for their own son.
The rest went toward their grandson Brent Brown's education, and Brent would need to get married later—that would require even more money!
They didn't have a cent left now and were counting on Celeste to keep sending them money.
"What proof do you have that you didn't know about these expenses? Isn't supporting your elders what you're supposed to do?"
"Supporting elders doesn't mean supporting your whole family!"
Just roughly calculating how much money he'd given them over the years made Oliver's heart bleed.
That was all his hard-earned money!
"If you don't return the money, I'll get a lawyer and sue you!"
Declan narrowed his eyes.
"We can return the money, but you have two daughters. Marry off Catherine, the one who's not your biological daughter, to our family. That way it keeps things in the family."
By this calculation, the Brown family would profit—gaining a beautiful granddaughter-in-law.
Oliver frowned. "You mean Catherine? No way. She won't even answer my calls now. Wanting her to marry into your family? Dream on!"
Celeste nudged Oliver.
"It would be good for Catherine too. We all know each other well, and our family doesn't look down on her. Aren't you sick? After she gets married, she can help you contact doctors from the Windsor family. Catherine wouldn't dare disobey."
Oliver's eyes lit up!
