Chapter 61 Chapter 61
My dead mother has come to hound me...
Bella's POV.
"Good morning Alpha Jacob, I hope I'm not intruding on anything important." The ravishing woman spoke with so much elegance with a beautiful tone to her voice. She was calm but my man Jacob wasn't.
If I say wolves are very territorial beings in their territories is an understatement, because once Jacob glanced at the strange woman, he changed his facial expressions and his body shifted into an aggressive mood.
"Who are you?" Jacob growled at the woman who had a natural lure to my soul. It's like I had met this woman somewhere but I could not remember where exactly. I furrowed my brows with an intense gaze while examining the stern yet friendly woman.
The best part of her intrusion was stopping mistress Edina from causing any more harm to me... I took short breaths in and out while I snuffed out the remaining watery substance she had thrown on my face.
And without waiting for a response from her, Jacob growled and leaped towards her with his hands clawed in the onslaught, wanting to strike her but with just a flicker of her fingers in his direction, she shoved him away even without grazing his skin with hers and he tensed like a person whom has been paused and fell mid air to the hard wooden floor.
The warriors unexpectedly came running to the room all ready to strike at their Alpha's command.
Oh my, my hand lowered to my chest as the mood in the room went from zero to a hundred with people's tempers increasing.
"what nonsense is this?" Edina murmured as her assistant katana strolled to her side...
The mood in the room was hostile and I could feel everyone's tensed moods.
Jacob was in a defensive mood as he attempted to attack the unknown female in the village... Did she bring good or bad news? But judging by the way she flickered him away from herself with just her fingers showed the immense abilities she had within herself.
"I come in peace, Alpha Jacob Shepard." The strange woman raised her arms in surrender, even though she could still flicker her fingers to all the warriors in the room and bring down Jacob's pack in seconds.
My heart was racing and I could not decide whether to run to Jacob or to the strange woman whose aura called to my soul… where did I meet her I darted at her with furrowed brows, confused with skeptical sentiments.
Jacob toiled to get up from the floor and I guessed that the strange woman's hand gesture did more damage than I witnessed.
Edina on the other hand, started moving behind slowly with a pale face as if she saw a ghost in the strange woman...
I wondered was happened to the almighty mistress edina Shepard. I sneered.
"Who are you and what do you want?" Jacob snarled after he managed to get up from the floor.
"My name is Queen Zita of pavlopetri city from the Pacific ocean. I come to find my daughter Bella wood."
Oh ya, she is the lady from my trance but what does she mean that I'm her daughter? My mother is dead. I furrowed my brows as I tried to gasp for air to reach my lungs. Her statement literally took my breath away.
I'm sure there was another Bella wood she is talking about… I tried to maintain my calm by taking longer short breaths.
She glanced at me and smiled at me showing all her whites in her mouth.
Please don't look at me...
"Queen Zita, which Bella wood do you mean?" Jacob asked with a pale straight face.
If he is anxious then what should I be? A lot of emotions flooded my mind.
Is she really my mother?
Why did she choose to return now?
But she is from the ocean, I'm certain there is another Bella she is talking about.
"No, my love it is I your mother Sonia." She surprised me by answering my thoughts. I froze and stared with wide eyes and raised eyebrows.
Did she just read my mind?
Edina dropped her jaw and the bottle in her grip… while she stumbled dangerously backward until katana her assistant stopped her from hitting her back on the wall.
"Mistress," katana spoke in a low voice.
"Katana, go get our bags ready," Edina whispered.
I glanced back at queen zita and Jacob. My legs trembled.
Jacob darted at Queen Zita with a frown wondering if what she was telling us was true or false.
"Hey, sweetheart." Queen Zita changed her attention to me and started walking towards me.
No no no, do not come to me. My mother was killed in that forest and you are just an imposter… I stepped back with hesitant steps.
"I'm your mother, Sonia." A tear twinkled in her eye as she stretched out her hand to clasp mine, but I dodged her grip.
"Jacob, this woman is an imposter, she is reading what is in my mind." My lips trembled as I yearned to be rescued by Jacob.
Upon giving attention to my voice, Jacob rushed to my side and put his strong firm arms around my shoulders while I rested my palms on his firm chest.
My stomach filled up with butterflies as Jacob reached out his hand to queen Zita.
She stopped with a scowled face.
"Bella, it is I your birth mother, Sonia." Her voice was like that of an angel but I was not going to be easily fooled by her sweet words.
My claws unknowingly dug into jacobs flesh as I held on to him as those my life depended on him chasing this woman away from me.
Jacob gasped with an emotionless mug.
"No, you are not," I murmured then placed my head on his chest. " My mother is dead. Leave me alone."
Queen Zita heaved a sigh with a solemn face.
"Queen Zita or whatever you call yourself, my Luna Bella, has requested you to leave.." Jacob pointed out to the exit with heavy breathing.
My ear gave attention to each and every breath he took. While I hooded my eyes to try and avoid her disappointed sight.
"Baby, it's me, momma." She made an effort to try and touch me again. But my knight in shining armor was there to stop her from taking any step further.
"Queen Zita, please leave at once, or face our wrath." Jacob's hundreds of warriors and Betas surrounded us in an instant ready to strike at his command.
She smirked and sneered out loud. She oozed confidence and I presumed the hundreds of warriors in the room did not unnerve her one bit.
The room echoed with loud snarls and growls at the same time as I dreaded the intense disappointed stare Queen Zita or Sonia gave me.
"These people are so evil." I gave attention to Edina's faint voice.
Queen Zita was so poised one could tell that she has a lot of confidence in her powers.
Please, moon goddess, tell this woman to leave me in peace. I cringed my eyes shut, wishing she could just vanish and leave us in peace and never to return to cause havoc. I had a lot of people to worry about and her adding herself to the list was becoming too unbearable for me to handle.
"Fine I will leave now but I promise that I will be back again." Queen Zita tensed for a few seconds then hesitantly walked away with the same elegance she came in with.
The warriors and the Betas parted way for her as she disappeared into the crowd of people.
I hope she is gone for good. I sighed softly.
"Umm, kitten, your claws are in me." Jacob flinched uncomfortably.
Oops, I completely forgot about my claws unknowingly digging into his flesh. I quickly let him off my hook and his shirt was stained in bloody stains.
"I'm sorry babe." I darted at him with puppy eyes.
"It's okay, " he tilted his head and lightly pressed his lips on my forehead and kissed it.
"where is Edina?" he darted around the still-crowded room in search of his grandmother.
