Wolf in the house
Wolf in the house
They lay on the bed holding each other. Misha had her head on Alex's chest drawing circles on his skin. It didn't need words in the moment. They had never been able to see where the relationship would go. The night went into the day as they lay holding one another. Alex had been so lost in this world. Crystal had been the one that kept him in line. Helping to find things that would keep his mind busy without having to deal with emotions. He had never been great with emotions, seeing them as a web that was to tangled to deal with. Though he knew what love was, that he had felt hate. Even with that Alex had always needed to have someone around to keep him in check. Crystal had always seemed to know when he needed a good kick in the pants. When the night started to fall Alex slipped out of the bed letting Misha sleep a while longer. The bathroom was dark when he entered it, closing the door he flipped the light on to take a shower. Moments later he felt arms go around his waist. Misha had woken to join him in the shower. She kissed his back as the water fell down their bodies.
"Alex why did you leave that day?" Misha asked her voice a whisper.
"I had watched you die, I couldn't handle that again. Having lost my wife shortly after my son was born. Then I went and almost died. If it hadn't been for Crystal being there I would have died that day. When I stood helpless to help you I couldn't bear it. So I left the area, moved to another city." Alex explained as he turned tto look down at her. "You have no idea how overjoyed I am to see you alive."
"I hated you for a while after I came back. Everyone had told me that you left without a thought. Not taking time to close up the house or dealing with the staff. When they told me that I was...well I can't explain the feelings." Misha told him as she put her forhead to his chest.
"You can always ask Hem about it. He was with me then, at one point he left to fake his death." Alex chuckled as he thought of it. "The moment Hem arrived I knew right away who it was. I am going to guess that he forgot I found out about him in 1915."
After the shower they both went to the kitchen to find Hem standing looking at the paper. With his hand he pointed to the mugs. Alex picked one up to take drink. He always thought it strange that he drank the blood out of mugs. Hem however thought it was better than putting it in a bag to hand from your face. It had made him laugh at the image in his mind. Still to this day he chuckeled hen Hem put the blood in mugs. He saw the look on Misha's face when she grabbed the mug.
"What's so funny?" Misha asked as she drank the blood.
"Recalling something that Hem did when he was younger. When they started to bagged blood and he started putting the blood in mugs. I had asked him why and he told me that it would better than having a bag hanging from my mouth." Alex chuckled as Hem glared at him.
"Oh! That is funny." Misha looked over at Hem. "Oh don't be like that, it is funny."
"Next time I will let you make an ass of yourself." Hem told him with a half smile on his face.
"What is funny?" Victor asked when he walked into the kitchen.
They didn't have a chance to say anything to him when the bell rang. Alex wasn't expecting anyone to come to the house. He looked over at Hem then to Victor to see if either was expecting someone. He hadn't seen Takayla yet today, it is was possible that it was for her. He walked into the living room toward the front door. He stopped cold though when he caugh the scent of Fae.
"Hem!" Alex called toward the man.
"What is it Alex?" Hem asked but stopped at the look on Alex's face.
"There is a fae at the door." Alex looked toward the door letting Hem get it. He moved toward the shadows keeping out of site.
Hem walked to the door opening it to see The Wolf standing on the front porch. Alex saw a shiver go through Hem. When he came out of the shadow to see The Wolf standing there looking into the house. He knew that he couldn't come into the house unless welcomed almost like vampires in the movies. He didn't want let the man in the house. At the same time he knew that leaving the man on the porch would be considered rude.
"Did you follow us?" Alex asked almost sounding round.
"In a way, I did. the truth would be that I need your help." The Wolf told him waiting on the porch.
"Well we can't talk with you on the porch. Come in and we can have some tea." Alex told him as he turned toward the kitchen again.
"I didn't think you would welcome me again. After what happened in Chicago." The Wolf followed him into the kitchen stopping when he saw the two dogs. "Oh you two are handsome boys."
Alex was shocked when Scoob and Shingles stood looking at The Wolf with love and what looked almost like envy. It was strange to see his dogs that always barked or attacked those that came into the house. With The Wolf they acted like puppies seeing there mom. Hem looked just as shocked by the way the dogs acted. The Wolf didn't even notice the looks he was getting from the people in the room.
"Names?" The Wolf asked not looking up from the dogs.
"Scoob and Shingles." Alex told him when both dogs looked at him then right back to The Wolf. "What have you done to my dogs?"
"I did nothing to them." The Wolf told him petting the dogs not looking up from them.
"They don't normally act this way with strangers. I trained them to protect me during the day." Alex explained watching the dogs fight over his attention.
"Dogs are different then most animals here on the human side of the world. They can smell the wild wolf on me so they want to find out who and what I am. Granted they also sense I am the alpha in the group. So they will act this way. You have trained them well and take great care of them. I would suggest getting Shingles in to see the vet soon. He had hurting in his hind legs." The Wolf told him with a smile.
"I already have an appointment for him. I noticed he was struggling with the stairs." Victor spoke from the door frome. "Who is the fae?"
"Ahh you must be the son." The Wolf didn't look up from the dogs.
