Chapter 63 Chapter 63
Chapter 63 Chapter 63
We were talking peacefully when the sound of the door opening echoed through the house. Before I could react, I heard hurried footsteps and then an excited voice.
"AAAAAAA! I can’t believe it!"
I looked toward the living room and saw Isa running toward me, tripping over the rug and nearly knocking over a chair along the way.
"You’re getting married!" she shouted, crashing into me with a hug so tight it nearly knocked the air out of me. "You’re going to be the most beautiful bride in the world!"
I let out a surprised laugh, trying to catch my breath. "Ah… thank you, Isa…"
She pulled back just enough to look at me, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "When Dominic told me, I swear I almost didn’t believe it! I mean… aaaaah, I’m so happy for you!" she said all at once, waving her hands wildly. "We need to look at dresses, decorations, the venue, the catering… and of course, I’ll be your maid of honor! I’ll take care of everything!"
"Calm down, Isa," I laughed, holding her shoulders to try and contain the whirlwind of energy. "It’s going to be something simple."
"Simple?" she gasped, eyes wide in mock horror. "Why simple when you could have a huge party?"
Dominic, leaning against the counter, watched the scene with an amused smile, shaking his head.
"Careful, Chloe," he murmured. "Once Isa gets excited, there’s no turning back."
Isa crossed her arms and shot him a defiant look. "Oh, let me dream! This house is going to shine, Dominic!"
I could only laugh, feeling my heart light. For a moment, everything felt so… alive.
"Leave it to me, darling," Isa said, lifting her chin with a confident smile. "I’m going to plan the wedding of your dreams. You won’t have to worry about a thing!"
"Isa… we’re go—"
Before I could finish, she pressed a finger to my lips, silencing me. "Shhh, no arguing. I’ll handle everything. You just need to focus on being the most beautiful bride — and mom — on this planet, okay?"
I stared at her, somewhere between amused and defeated. I sighed and ended up nodding in agreement. There was no point fighting the Isa hurricane.
She let out a squeal of excitement and started pacing back and forth, already talking to herself. "We’ll need flowers, lots of flowers… and the dress! Oh my God, the dress! I already have the perfect idea!"
Dominic, now sitting back at the table with a coffee mug in hand, looked at me over the rim of his cup and raised an eyebrow, clearly entertained.
"I tried to warn you," he murmured, hiding a smile.
I rolled my eyes, crossing my arms. "I know. But it’s already too late."
Isa stopped and pointed a finger at him. "And you, Dominic, make sure you show up looking flawless— well, I guess that won’t be a problem... forget it."
He let out a low chuckle.
She went back to jotting down imaginary notes in the air while I sank into the couch, completely resigned. Deep down, it was impossible not to laugh — Isa was pure chaos, but an utterly lovable one.
