Chapter 64 Chapter 64

Chapter 64 Chapter 64
Isa kept talking to herself, pacing back and forth with her phone in hand and a distant look in her eyes.
"And when are you two planning it? In six months, maybe?"
"No, didn’t Dominic tell you?" I asked, frowning.
She blinked, distracted. "I don’t know! I just read ‘wedding,’ that was the important part!"
I let out a small laugh. "Next month."
"N–next month?!" Isa’s eyes widened as she nearly choked on her own breath. "Oh my God, that’s way too soon! I need to find a venue, catering, decorations... ugh, so many details!" She grabbed her head, starting to spin in circles as her hair fell over her face.
Dominic and I exchanged a knowing glance, trying not to laugh.
Isa suddenly stopped, bit her lower lip, and lifted a finger like she’d just had an epiphany. "I can do it." A mischievous smile spread across her lips. "I’m going to plan everything! I have to go, no time to waste!"
Before I could say a word, she gave me a quick, tight hug that smelled of sweet perfume and dashed out the door.
I stared at the door swinging shut after she disappeared, a laugh slipping from my lips. "Is she always like this?"
Dominic was washing the dishes, his shirt sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He looked over his shoulder, a crooked smile tugging at his mouth. "That’s nothing. It’s just the tip of the iceberg."
I leaned against the counter, crossing my arms as I watched him rinse the dishes. "I think she’s happy."
"You think?" he asked, raising a teasing eyebrow at me.
I laughed softly, shaking my head. "I do."
He just chuckled, drying his hands with a towel as he slowly walked over, resting his hip against the counter beside me. His gaze softened. "Me too."
"Now… why don’t we take some time just for us, you and me, hm?" His voice came out low, drawn out — almost a whisper that vibrated against my skin.
Before I could answer, Dominic moved closer, his eyes locked on mine as if the rest of the world had vanished. He grabbed my wrist firmly, pulling me against his chest. The heat of his touch made me hold my breath for a moment.
That familiar scent — coffee and wood — surrounded me as he lowered his head and buried his face in my neck. A shiver ran down my spine when I felt his breath there, slow and warm, like he was savoring the moment.
"Dominic…" I murmured, but my voice almost disappeared when his fingers began sliding along the curve of my waist, slowly moving up to the small of my back.
He kept me close, his body pressing against mine, our warmth blending together. Every touch was soft enough to make my heart race.
"I missed you," he whispered against my skin, his voice rough. "Really."
His lips brushed my shoulder, then moved in a slow path up to my jawline. When he lifted his head, our eyes met.
