Chapter 46 - Blessed with Two Mates

‘We are all ready, my Queen’, Gamma Guillermo links me.

‘Mrs. Angel?’ I link.

‘We are ready, your highness’ she replied.

‘Alright, let’s do this’ I said. Everyone knew their role. Mrs. Yashira would be with Gamma Guillermo’s group, while Mr. Gabriel is with my group. I see two ferals so I grab two throwing knives and throw it at them, hitting one in the neck and the other between the eyes. Little by little, we got closer to the middle of the campgrounds.

“Well, well, well, look who decided to come and even brought some entertainment” I heard my grandfather say.

“John” I grit out.

“Ouch, not grandfather?” he asked.

“You stopped being my grandfather a long time ago” I said.

“And here I thought we could have a beautiful family reunion”, John chuckled.

“I already have a family and you’re not it. Why are you doing all of this? You’re hurting and killing innocents. For what? Power? Don’t you have enough already? I ask and he chuckles darkly. You can hear the sinister side of him in his voice. This is not the grandfather I remember.

“Oh my dear, you can never have too much power. I want to be number one. I will do whatever it takes. Those people who I have killed stood in my way. The same fate that you will meet because knowing you… you will stand in my way” he said. I looked around. He really had an army of his own.

‘He’s not going to stand down. It is useless’ I hear Mr. Gabriel said through the link. Before I could think about saying anything, I heard a loud bang. I flinch ever so slightly, but thanks to my trust in our allies and family, I am safe. Gabriel had put up a shield stopping the bullet in its tracks.

“Did you think it would be that easy?” I asked John. He just smiles.

“You can’t blame a man for trying” he shrugs.

‘Keep him talking. I will have Yashira and the others flank them. We will surround them on all sides and take out the shooters as well’ Mr. Tristan links me. I don’t respond, but he knows I heard him. Mrs. River sends me a visual link and I see the troops silently set out. Mr. Gabriel keeps up the shield on us and we start marching forward slowly and we get half way across the field to John.

“At what point are you going to say enough is enough? At what point do you regain at least a bit of humanity?” I asked, knowing I needed to keep him talking. Even though I know that there’s no humanity left in him. There is no good in him. He is a dark soul that is filled with nothing but evil, vain, and greed. Where did everything go wrong for him? I have no idea and right now I don’t care.

“Oh my dear granddaughter, you are so naïve. Power is everything. I don’t care about anything else” he said.

‘Damn he is mental’, Ari said in my head, and I had to agree with her.

“So your wife, your daughters, your grandkids, you don’t care about them?” I asked and he looked to his left. I followed his line of sight and gasped when I saw my mother beaten and unconscious. I went to move, but I hand stopped me.

‘This is what he wants. If you leave the shield he will kill you. River is close to her. Your mom will be fine’ I heard Angel say through the link.

“You mean your worthless aunt Katrina, your mother, your grandma, and you? They are traitors, including you. You all left me. You are all a disgrace. I couldn’t care less about any of you”, John said.

“Good thing grandma and aunt Katrina are dead. This way, don’t have to see the monster that you have become” I said. I could see him turning red from anger.

“What are you talking about? Your grandmother is alive” he shouted, and I shook my head.

“No, she’s not. Mom and I buried her”, I assured him.

“I can see that you didn’t know or maybe you did but refuse to listen” I said.

“She fought on the wrong side. She believed in love”, he scoffed.

“Love is more powerful than anything” I said and he laughed. I mean a full on belly laugh. I saw a familiar woman step closer to John. Matilda.

“That was hilarious. Love is a figment of your imagination. Love doesn’t exist. I don’t love anyone. I didn’t love my wife, my children, or my grandchildren. You are all a means to my end goal. I don’t love anything except the power I so desire”, he spits out, and Matilda looks at him with disdain. What did she expect? Husband or boyfriend of the year?

“I’m tired of playing games. This is your last chance, Kiera” he spits out.

“Surrender NOW!” he shouts and I shake my head no.

“Then you leave me no choice”, he raises his hand and clenches his fist. I smirk while his face contorts in confusion and then anger.

“Oh, are you waiting on your snipers to take us out? Like the shield we had up would falter”. I smiled and rolled my eyes at his stupidity.

“Your snipers are no longer an issue. Got anything else?” I asked, taunting him. Making him mad will get him riled up. The more he focuses on his anger, the more likely he will make a mistake. He won’t fight controlled, he will be like a bull in a china shop. Dangerous, but easy to take down. His face turns redder with every passing minute. I see Colin step forward but I link him ‘wait don’t shift. I want him to make the first move’.

“Tell me John. What happens after you gain control? You expect everyone to fall in line? To obey a false king? To adapt to the abuse and manipulation you spit out? No, even if you win today, there will always be another fight. Another battle. Another war. Another person willing to stand up to you” Mr. Gabriel says. I feel the anticipation. I feel the tension. You could cut it with a dull knife. I can feel the eagerness through the bond I have with my pack and our allies.

“You will always be walking on eggshells. You will always have to wonder if today is the day someone kills you”, I added in. This seemed to snap his last band out of control.

“You’ll see. You’ll all see that I will lead everyone. I will be the most powerful ruler this world has ever seen. The rest of the world will bow at my feet and worship me like the GOD that I am”, John says, and I roll my eyes.

“NOW!” John shouted. I see a few men shift to their bears and they roar. This causes all of the rest of his followers to shift into their bears and those ferals who weren’t shifted to shift into their feral wolf. Our numbers seem to be pretty even. My pack members that were in human form shifted. I took out my guns and began to fire at the hunters. I looked for John but he was gone.

‘Coward’, Ari growled. I continued to shoot hunters and ferals. When I was out of bullets, I grabbed my throwing knives, but then I saw my mom, so I took out my sword and handed it to her.

“Kane, Duke!” I call. A huge familiar bear runs towards me and stops a couple of feet away from me. Then I see Kane.

“Grab some warriors and go get the king Xavier, Gamma Benny, and the others out” I told them. They nod and leave. Mom takes off the other way. Wolves and Lycans of all colors and sizes run past me. There are growls, snarls, and roars from both allies and foe.

After shifting, we charged forward. I stay close to my queen. She’s a great fighter in both her human and Lycan, but it never hurts to have someone always watching your back. Fighting a bear, I realize this bear is less stronger than the last one we fought back at our pack lands but are equally as strong as our warriors. He is putting up a good fight. The bear kodak bear I’m fighting has gotten me a few times. I feel the stinging from the wounds on my body.

‘Stop playing with the bear. We have others to kill’ my Lycan, Jake says. He’s right. I have been playing with my kill. I could have killed him ten moves ago. I sink my teeth into his neck and lock my jaws. The blood filling my mouth giving Jake the blood lust that he craves. The bear slumps and stops fighting. He’s dead. I look at the battlefield. I spot our Queen in her Lycan form fighting a dirty light bear. The queen is holding her own like I knew she would, but I still run to her and jump on the back of the bear. I sink my claws and canines into the bear. She bucks, but I hold on like a cowboy riding a bull in a rodeo. The queen takes the opportunity to go for the bear's exposed neck. The bear submits with a whimper. We released her and she stayed down, no doubt tired of fighting. She eyes us and bows her head before stalking off. I hear our queen yelp and I looked to see she had been knocked down by a bear twice the size of the bear we had just submitted. He radiates power, but not like an Alpha bear. Maybe a long time ago he could have been a Beta or Gamma. The queen rolled a bit and stood up on shaky legs, growling.

The bear charged at us and we split up, each going either side of him. I get a good swipe going down his hip while the queen bites at his stomach. I hear the bear growl and he turns his head, grabbing the queen by her scruff. He takes her and throws her like she weighs nothing. She hits a tree and lands on her side whimpering. Mr. Colin runs to her and stands guard over her while she gathers her bearings and I see red. I latch onto this sleeze balls back and pull like a dog playing tug o war, ripping fur and skin with every tug. I stay in his blind spot where he can’t reach me. He stands up on his hind legs and throws his body weight down, shaking me off of him.

He stalks towards me and growls. But is tackled by a huge gray ball of fur. Beta Marisol wrestles with this enormous bear and easily rips out his throat. Radiating her full power, Beta Marisol stands with her chest puffed out.

‘Thank you’. I linked her and she gave me a firm nod before running to the other ferals. I walked over to our queen.

‘Can you fight?’ I asked her through the link, making her narrow her eyes at me and nod her head. We survey the field. We seem to be winning.

“Kiera”, I hear Mrs. Yashira call. Kiera turns to Mrs. Yashira and we see her pointing. I follow to where she’s pointing and I see a female walking towards Jennifer. Our Queen roars and runs to the tree line. I see a feral coming towards me, but she’s tackled by a champagne color wolf.

‘Gamma Guillermo, we need help. Duke and Kane get the King and Royal Gamma along with the other kidnapped victims’ Mrs. Angel says through the pack link.

‘On it’ I said and ran to where I saw the building. When I saw the king and royal gamma Benny, I was shocked. They looked like they have been through hell and back. Queen Kiera is not going to like this at all.
