Chapter 45 - Blessed with Two Mates

“What do you think? Can we trust him?” Kane asked. For a few seconds, I thought about what he had said. He was forced to join my sister and grandfather, but in reality he just wanted for them to leave him alone, but fate didn't want it that way. Now he just wanted to avenge his first mate's death and live happily with his second chance mate.

“When I first saw him he didn’t have any blood on him. He had plenty of chances to hurt any of my pack members or allies, but he didn’t. He was coming straight towards me but he stopped when Lola, his mate, snarled at him to protect me. But in his eyes… I could see that he wasn’t going to hurt me. He took on another bear shifter who was going to attack me and Lola. Lastly, he took a dagger that was meant for me. I think the answer is right in front of us”, I admitted, and Kane nodded his head.

“Come on. I’ll walk you back to the castle”, Kane said. We left the pack clinic and headed to the castle. When I entered, I saw Mr. Gabriel and Mrs. Yashira.

“You’re back” I smiled as I gave Mrs. Yashira a hug and then Mr. Gabriel.

“I wasn’t going to miss the fight” Mrs. Yashira say.

“These hunters need to understand that they messed with the wrong family” Mr. Gabriel said and I nodded. I informed them of everything that had happened and what Duke said to me. I also told the others about what we saw in the building. When I finished, I went up to my room. I grabbed my underwear, bra, and the clothes Mrs. Yashira gave me. I then went to the bathroom and took a shower. I washed my hair, washed my body, shaved, and washed my body again. Once I rinse off, I let the hot water cascade onto my body. After twenty minutes, I turn off the shower, grab a towel and towel dry myself. I wrapped the towel around me and went to my room. I wore my thong, bra, and clothes. I then wore my boots that matched my outfit. I put my hair up in a ponytail and looked at myself in the mirror. I looked like I was going to kick ass and I will.

I took a deep breath, grabbed the potion, and went downstairs. As I got to the foyer, the smell of food hit my nose and my stomach growled. I noticed pack members walking outside with platters of food.

“What’s going on?” I asked.

“We’re having dinner outside. The whole pack made dinner” Mr. Gabriel said, then turned to me. He looked at me from head to toe and nodded his head in approval.

“I did a great job. Didn’t I?” I heard Mrs. Yashira said from behind me.

“Indeed you did, my love”, Mr. Gabriel grinned.

“Come on, Kiera. You need to have something to eat before we leave” Mrs. Yashira said.

“Is there anything I can help with?” I asked.

“No, your highness. Everything is already out there” Mr. Gabriel said. We headed outside and I was shocked to see the whole pack there along with our allies. As soon as they saw me, they stood and bowed their heads in respect and submission.

“Please return to what you were doing”, I smiled. I grab a plate and grab baked chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It still bothered me to know that I was eating, but I had no idea if my mates had any food. I couldn’t stop eating because I have two pups growing inside of me that need this nutrition, but I still couldn’t help but feel guilty. I began to eat my food and just looked around at my pack members and allies. When I finished eating one of the Omegas took my plate. I grabbed a glass of tea, then grabbed my potion. I felt eyes on me and saw Mrs. Yashira looking at me. I opened the potion bottle and down it, then chased it down with some tea. I see a large shadow pass over us, so I look up only to see Kane’s black and green dragon. He shifts to his human form and I look away.

“Good to see you have eaten” I heard Kane say as he took a seat beside me.

“I did. Are you going to eat before we head out?” I asked him.

“No, but thank you. I had a big lunch” he says, and I nod. After thirty minutes, I stood and walked to the front of the castle. I saw my pack members and allies following me, stopping right in front of me. I looked around at every single one of them.

“As you all know, when we were attacked during my coronation, your king and one of your royal gammas, my mates, were taken. I’m not going to lie to you, your king and royal gamma have been tortured. My sister, Helen, wanted a trade which my mother knew my sister was not going to uphold her end of the deal, so she took a potion to look like me. Long story short, my mother was right” I said, and I looked around. A few growled while the others just shook their heads.

“We know where they are now and we are going to go save our king, royal Gamma, my mother, and the others. I’m not going to lie and say this is going to be an easy fight. I know my grandfather and sister. They are very well trained hunters. Don't forget that the hunters also have weapons that are laced with silver and wolfsbane, and, as you know, they are working with ferals, some vampires, dark witches, and as I learned earlier, a hand full of bear shifters”, I said, and everyone looked at Duke.

“You may have all seen, Duke. He came to warn me about what had happened and he saved my life. He will be going with us. I can’t guarantee the safe return of everyone here. Some will be hurt and some may even die, so with this said... I know that some of us might not return, but I will do everything in my power to bring you all home to your families and friends. But I understand if you are afraid and don't want to join the fight, you may stay. I will not think less of you". I stopped and looked around and I noticed no one moved. I felt proud of my pack... my family.

“Thank you all for being here. I also want to let you know how proud I am to be fighting alongside each and every one of you. We will be leaving in five minutes” I said. I let everyone go in case they wanted o say by to their loved ones. I went up to my room and grabbed my sword and strapped my sheath and knives to my right thigh. I then grabbed my two 9mm Canik SFx Rival. I made sure they were loaded and I grabbed my two extra magazines. I then made my way back outside to see everyone ready. Everyone shifted to their wolves and Lycans. Duke shifted into his bear. Kane shifted to his dragon and I let my wings out. Everyone knew where to go. Mr. Colin and Mrs. Angel were in the front.

‘Ari’ I called my Lycan.

‘Yes?’ she replies.

‘This is going to be hectic when we go look for our mates. Many people are going to get hurt or even get killed. Are you ready for that?’ I asked.

‘I wish I didn’t have to hurt these ferals, but I have to remind myself that, just like our sister and our grandfather, there is no going back for them. Our pack members and allies know what’s coming and they haven’t abandoned us. They are ready to fight for us just like we are ready to fight for them’, Ari says, and I can’t help but smile. I really couldn’t be any prouder of my pack members and allies. I looked down to see them all running. I know this fight is not going to be easy and I already knew what the gods and goddesses were expecting of me. I knew what I was going to do. But I can't help but wonder if mom was ready to do what she needed to do. Was she in any shape to do what she needed to do? Would she stop me from doing what the Gods and Goddesses wanted me to do? I have no idea, but I guess we will find out soon.
