Chapter 15 (Arrest)

Its the day after my wonderful date with Reece and as I said before it was magical. It was all sunshine and rainbows for me right now but I can't shake off the feeling that something is going to happen today.

I don't know if that something is going to be bad or good but I hope its the latter. I have to tell Reece the truth sooner or later but right now I just can't bring myself to ruin what we have. We are in a really good place right now and I realize I might even love him.

I and Eve were walking in the corridors. I was trying to get closer to Eve in order to get closer to the gang that tried to kill me. I plan to join the gang and destroy them from the inside. In order to get inside the gang, I had to have some sort of connection to my parents in my backstory. So here goes plan number 1.

"Eve?" I say so that she pays attention to what I'm saying next.

"Yes, Sara?" Now time to execute my plan.

"I recently found some dirt on the northern king and queen." Let us see how this plays out. Either I get killed or I get closer to the truth. This now sounds like a bad idea but I said it so now I have to roll with it.

"What!? What do you mean!?" Now I hope what I cooked up sounds good enough.

"I found out that the general was here. In this kingdom." Which is true.

"What! How?!" If I don't play my cards right I don't know how this will go. I need to think very carefully about what I'm about to say next.

"I'm actually a former soldier's daughter. My father worked for the king and queen. He died with my mom so I was left in the custody of my father's friend who is a messenger, he comes and checks up on me from time to time and he heard these rumors."  A believable story., Hopefully.

"Why are you a maid then?" She looks confused. I didn't think this through.

"Umm I had my own life to lead and he had a family so I decided to leave. This is just temporary, I'm smart so I'm studying." She looks at me and I think she believes me.

"Are you sure? Did he hear the rumors correctly?" She asks sincerely.

"I'm positive." That's all I say. I look over my shoulder to see her reaction. She's thinking very deeply. This might mean that she's thinking about me joining the gang.

It's dangerous but this is the only way I can find out the truth once and for all. The hatred for me and my parents need to come to an end. I need to set things right. I am determined to be better for both me and for the people in my kingdom.

I finished taking to Eve and headed to my room. It was already noon and I was called to the general's room for something. This cant is good. What does that pig want this time? If only I had my tittle as the princess I would have banished him for such a disgracing act. If life was only that simple.

I walk up the stairs and knock the door. This time I came with a pencil in hand in case he tries anything.

"Come in" His devilish voice makes me squirm.

I slowly enter and stand with my hands behind my back. The pencil is in my hands so I try to put it under my sleeve.

"Sir, you wanted something?" I ask while looking down because of respect but mostly because I didn't want to see his hideous face.

"Ahh yes please get me some water." Water? Is his water jug empty? I walk to his table to see his water jug full. Then what is the problem?

"The water jug is full sir?" I ask it more like a question than a statement.

"Oh, I know. I want you to pour me a glass and bring me." What the hell? Did he just call me to pour him a glass of water? Even I never did that!

Just to get out fast I bring him a glass of water he takes it and looks at me.

"Why thank you." He whispers on my ears and his hands are placed on my shoulder. I thought about stabbing him with the pencil but he hasn't tried anything yet so I won't stab him just yet.

"You may leave now." He says and I don't wait a minute before I bow and get the hell out of there

What is he playing at? I don't know just yet but I got to be careful. I head up to my room and once again find Reece waiting there for me. I close the door fast and quickly run to him and hug him.

"I'm sorry but I just need this right now," I say while trying to hold him as close to me as possible. He pulls me from him and looks at me with concern.

"Is something wrong?" He asks and hearing the sound of my voice makes me forget about everything.

"No. It's just that... I missed you." I look into his eyes and he smiles.

"Well you know it's only been about 12 hours or so." He chuckles and I roll my eyes.

"Way to ruin a romantic moment." I hit him on the shoulder and laugh along with him.

This is just what I needed. This time with him is just what I want. I hope nothing changes for now at least. I'm getting closer to finding my parent's killer and finding out who tried to kill me.

As I lean in to kiss him again, the door swung open and I pushed Reece such that we had some distance between us. Two soldiers come inside along with the... The general!? what is he doing here?!

"Hands behind your back ma'am." The soldiers say sternly as the take a rope and tie my hands behind my back.

"What? What the hell is happening?" I am scared and confused right now! What was going on?!

"You're under arrest for stealing a possession of the generals" What!? I am under Arrest!?
