Chapter 24 Refuting Rumors Triggers a War of Insults

"She must be a professional PR agent. The copy was prepared in advance. Everyone should pay close attention. There might even be the same copy out there."

"Did anyone notice that this Melonie is a Jasper fan?"

"Yeah, click into her Twitter and you'll see records of her supporting Jasper, although she seems to be a freeloader since she never shows proof of purchase."

Amelia had a heated argument with the netizens in her private messages, making herself extremely upset. She took deep breaths to calm herself down, realizing she shouldn't have read all these messages. What if they upset her baby?

In Damien's office, his assistant, Jim, held an iPad and said, "There's a trending topic that has knocked your trending topic down. Should we remove your trending topic now?"

Damien quickly signed a document and calmly said, "No need to remove it. Just control the public opinion."

He looked up at Jim and continued, "I don't personally care about it, but I don't want those insults to affect the people around me."

Jim nodded and said, "Understood. I will handle the public relations."

After Jim left, Damien resumed his work. However, his phone rang, and he saw that it was Noah calling.

He answered the call, saying, "What's up? Don't have time to play in your garden? Why are you calling me?"

On Noah's side, the birds were singing, and it was evident that he was indeed playing around. He still had that carefree appearance.

"Don't misunderstand, I called you just to make fun of you. It's truly rare. Our Mr. Kingsley, known for his coldness and abstinence, actually failed in trying to secretly rule someone, thus damaging the reputation of the woman."

Damien was still working and didn't even glance at his phone. He said calmly, "Are you done mocking? Once you're done, go do your own thing and don't bother me."

Noah clicked his tongue and his voice became even more ambiguous. "Damien, have you noticed that you're busier during the day now compared to before? And you're always in a hurry. We try to reach you, but you don't have time to meet. You come home on time. Why is that?"

Damien remained silent, and Noah's arrogant laughter came through the phone. "Hahaha... it's because you have a lovely wife now. You're very fond of being at home."

Damien paused his writing hand, the pen tip leaving a deep black dot on the document. He raised his hand, furrowing his brow. "You're thinking too much. She just needs taking care of right now."

Noah, however, continued laughing without restraint. "Alright, no need to explain to me. We all know. I called to tell you something else. I think you should check the trending topics first."

"Hmm?" Damien looked up, holding his phone in his hand, and asked, "What happened? What's going on?"

Noah hesitated for a moment on the other end. "I'm not sure either, but now there's someone named Melonie trending, saying that you're being affectionate to Victoria and then was attacked. People are cursing you in the trending topics."

Damien remained indifferent. "And how does that concern me?"

Noah was speechless. He knew this guy didn't understand what it meant to cherish someone like a rare gem. It was different with that little girl from his family, but he unfortunately wouldn't admit it.

"Didn't you ask me to investigate the background of that little wife of yours? I've found quite a bit. I'll send it to you later. Also, don't hang up yet. I haven't finished. The important thing I wanted to say is that I discovered your little wife is a fan of Jasper, and this Melonie is also a fan of Jasper. As a result, Jasper is now trending too."

Damien's expression froze, and he muttered the name. "Melonie… Sterling…."

He quickly opened his phone, went to the trending topics, and saw that profile and yes, it was indeed Amelia's face.

"Noah, just send Amelia's information to my computer."

After saying that, he hung up the phone directly. Noah, on the other end, was holding two beautiful women in his arms and grumbled discontentedly. "Such a heartless person. He destroys the bridge after crossing the river."

Damien pressed the intercom. "Come in."

Jim quickly knocked on the door and entered. "Mr. Kingsley, you called for me."

Damien said in a deep voice, "Have the PR department gather all the information on the people who cursed Melonie, and then directly submit it to the lawyers to sue them for online bullying. After collecting the evidence, take down the trending topics."

Jim nodded and made his way out to fulfill Damien's instructions.

He was shocked. Didn't the CEO just say not to worry about it? Why? Are we still going to report it to the internet?

Seeing Damien staring at him, Jim didn't dare to delay for a moment.

"Yes, I'll go take care of it right away."

Damien turned and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, looking at the broad view outside, and called Amelia.

But he heard the message, "The number you have dialed is turned off."

He adjusted his tie and dialed again, but got the same result, it was turned off.

He pondered for a moment and called Ms. Linda.

"Ms. Linda, what is Amelia doing?"

Ms. Linda was tidying up his study and went out to have a look after hearing his question.

"Amelia is watching TV on the couch, what's the matter?"

Damien was taken aback, wondering if he had made a mistake. Did he help someone take down the trending search topic?

But Noah said that the person who was posting, had the surname of Sterling is Amelia.

Damien picked up his coat from the chair and left the company directly.

Amelia, feeling scolded, finally dared not tweet on Twitter anymore. She didn't even dare to turn on her phone and just shut it down. Then she curled up on the couch and watched TV.

Because she didn't know how to operate the TV, Ms. Linda had turned it on for her and didn't make it go back to its original state.

After Ms. Linda finished tidying up the study, she came out and observed Amelia in the living room. Seeing that her complexion seemed off, she thought that this was due to a quarrel between the young couple. She planned to find an opportunity to talk to Amelia about the good qualities of her young master.

But before she could find the chance, Damien came back.

Ms. Linda tactfully became invisible and went to the next door. The young couple could handle their own problems.

Amelia got up from the couch. This time, she obediently remembered to put on her slippers and hurried to Damien. Naturally, she took his coat from his hand and hung it on the hanger.

"Why did you come back so early? You only went to work in the afternoon, didn't you?"

Damien looked at her and asked.

"Why was your phone turned off?"

Amelia's gaze drifted.

"Oh, I... it's nothing. It's just that I'm not used to the new phone and it needed to be charged, so I took it to charge."

"Then were you not using the internet? Did you not see any news?"

Amelia observed Damien's expression and secretly wondered in her heart. By asking like this, did he hope that she saw it? Or did he not want her to see it? There must be a purpose behind it, otherwise why would he specifically ask her?

Does he know that I had an argument with someone on Twitter? Amelia felt guilty and hung her head, not answering.

Seeing her like this, Damien asked again.

"Is that Melonie you?"

Amelia raised her head abruptly.

"How... how did you know?"
