Chapter one hundred and one: give me your hand.

Chapter one hundred and one: give me your hand.

Mason was handcuffed immediately and he shouted “Run! Run away Mike! Forget about me!”.

Mike's eyes were filled with fear, as he watched his friend being detained by the police, one of the officers pointed at Mike and shouted “Get him!!”.

Mike quickly moved out of sight, and some police officers including Officer Joe joined in the chase. Mike climbed the roofs of the building.

Officer Joe struggles to get up the roof, and that gives Mike an advantage as he runs from the roof to the other roof.

Officer Joe and some other officers chased Mike on the rooftop, but Mike kept running without looking back.

As Officer Joe was running he pointed his gun at Mike and shouted “Freeze!! I the name of the law!! Or I will be shot!”.

But Mike snubbed the order, and he kept running.

Mike got to a dead end. Mike got close to the other side of the roof but for him to move to the next building, he would have to jump, and the distance between the two roofs of the building was a bit big.

Mike stopped and looked down and he could see the ground of the building, the blue cars that were parked by a corner of the building. Mike felt the cold breeze. He stopped and he looked back at the police officers chasing him.

Police Officer Joe saw that Mike was now at a dead end, and had nowhere to go. “You are cornered! Give up! And all of these will end smooth and nicely, no one will get hurt,” office Joe said. He pointed his gun at Mike and the police officers that were with him pointed their teasers and guns at Mike.

“No! I can't! Joe, It seems you already know the level of corruption and injustice that is in our society today, maybe you are not affected yet but more people have been, affected, I am not the one that you are supposed to be chasing! You know the truth! Don't you?!” Mike asked, his voice louder than Officer Joe’s voice.

The shouts and rattling on the roof got the attention of passers and they stopped they looked up and saw the event that was unfolding and some of them brought out their phones and started to record what was happening.

More and more people came, some of them went live on their social media apps, and they broadcasted the event, and all of a sudden it went viral on the Internet and it caused traffic on the road.

After hearing Mike's reply, Officer Joe knew what he said was true but he could not admit it in front of other officers. “Look buddy, I know you are trying to change something in society but society corrupt, I get that, the world is corrupt, and everyone is corrupt! We can not change that, it is part of the society, good and bad must exist!” Officer Joe said. He intelligently answered the question.

Mike moved back a little and he stood at the edge of the roof, he was ready for the worst, “Joe, told you before, I would like us to work together to end all of these, you know what I am talking about,”. Mike looked at Officer Joe.

The breeze was becoming strong, and the night was becoming colder, and everyone on the roof and at the feet of the building could feel it. Mike looked down one more time.

“Don't do it! Please we can solve this but this is not the way, trust me. If you fall you are going to die, you know that already, what about your family? Your mom, your dad? Huh?” Officer Joe asked. As Officer Joe was trying to communicate with Mike, he slowly moved closer and reached for his teaser he held it tightly and he was ready to fire.

Mike noticed it and said “That won't be necessary, Mike looked down and he saw that there were a lot of people down and they were looking up at what was happening on the roof. Mike noticed that in the two-story building that he was on, some of the windows had a canopy, providing shade on a sunny day, and the building next to it and the one that Mike wanted to jump over to had the same thing.

Mike decided to make his move. Some people beneath were cheering Mike and supporting him, while the others stood quietly and recorded with their phones.

“It's like the police department lost this one again,”

Mike said with a smile on his face. And looking at the people cheering from beneath, Officer Joe looked also.

“Mike don't do anything silly, they don't care about you, they see you as an entertainment, a joy giver, you are showing them what they want to see, they don't care if you fall from the roof and die, they don't. So there is still time to give up. Now move slowly forward and raise your hands,” the officer said. He was still clutching his teaser.

Mike gasped and he decided to obey. Mike moved four steps forward.

“That is it, you are doing great,” Officer Joe said, as Mike moved forward. He let go of his teaser and he held his handcuffs and he moved closer.

Suddenly Mike stopped and he said, “See you later,”. Mike turned back and he ran and he jumped over the roof.

“No!!!!” officer Joe shouted.

Everyone that was beneath was marveled.

An officer pulled the trigger of his teaser, the cables traveled and they teased Mike before he moved across as he jumped. Mike shouted. Officer Joe quickly stopped the officer from teasing Mike more.

The electric shock from the teasing made Mike no able to jump over to the other rooftop, he crashed on the other roof and slid down, almost falling to the ground but he held it, he ripped part of the zinc off the roof.

Everyone that was under was shouting as they continued to record what was going on. Mike struggled to get hold of it but his hands were gradually slipping off.

“Mike, give me a hand! Do not be stupid!” Officer Joe called out from the other roof. He stretched his hand.

Mike turned his neck slowly and he looked at him.

“Come on Mike! Your friend is already with us, he was been transported back to the precinct, I understand how you feel, I know your dad was jailed for an accusation of theft because he pleaded innocent, I know you think there is a mixed up somewhere, just give me your hand, I will pull you up and we will investigate it together afterward, I promise,” officer Joe said.

“So you know what happened? Talk less and do the right thing,” Mike said as he hung on the roof. Mike's right hand slips. He held the ripped part of the roof with his left hand, tightly.

“Okay, I will, I promise,” Officer Joe replied. He stretched his hand to help Mike.

“Promise?” Mike asked, he was losing grip.

“Yes promise, now give me your hand,” Officer Joe said. He stretched his hand.

Mike stretched his hand and suddenly he lost his grip and he fell from the rooftop to the ground.
