Chapter one Hundred Two: Mason Cell and Mike's blood
Mike stretched his hand and suddenly he lost his grip and he fell from the rooftop to the ground.
Officer Joe tried to grab him but he couldn't. He watched as Mike striped to the ground.
Mike did not fall straight, Mike crashed from canopies to canopies that were covering the windows of people and providing shade.
He went left, right, left. The canopies reduced the impact of the fall. The fall of Mike from the roof was intentional because he was teased by the officer when he jumped and crashed onto the other roof. Mike can still pull himself up and continue running on the roof but he chooses not to because he knows that the police officers will keep chasing him and the chase will be intense.
Mike decided to crash as an escape.
As Mike dropped to the ground amid the crowd that was beneath the building, with their cameras.
Officer Joe looked at him and dropped him on the floor, officer Joe quickly turned to his team and said “Go down! And check if he is still alive! Someone gets an ambulance here!”.
The police officers left the rooftop, and Officer Joe and his team ran downstairs to see if Mike was alive after falling from a two-story building.
As Officer Joe and some other officers got to the site Mike fell. The people were rowdy, they kept pointing their flashlights at the police officers and cameras at them, while some of them were cursing them.
Officer Joe and some other officers tried to pass through the crowd and search for Mike but the crowd was a bit stubborn.
Officer Ruby saw that are colleague was struggling with navigating through the crowd, she released two shots from her pistol into the air and it scared some of the people and they gave way.
“Move out! Police business!” Officer Ruby shouted as she released a gunshot in the air.
Officer Joe checked around after the pooched gave way but he didn't see Mike's body at all. Officer Joe was shocked, he looked around and looked at everyone face that was watching or recording the event on their phones.
“Everyone put your phone down! It's a security check!” officer Joe shouted. He wanted to check the faces of people as he checked if Mike was hiding within the crowd.
Officer Joe looked at everyone's faces and he could not see Mike. He was confused and he asked himself “How?”.
The people started laughing at the police officers as they noticed how surprised they were not to see Mike. “Where is he?! Where?! Where?! Where is he?!” Officer Joe shouted as the crowd laughed at police officers, it annoyed him.
Some police officers came to chase the crowd away, they gave the police officers room.
Officer Ruby noticed some red liquid on the floor, she was surprised so she bent down to touch it and he felt the texture of the liquid she sniffed it afterward, and she was shocked by what she discovered.
“Blood!” Officer Ruby shouted, after discovering that she just discovered blood on the ground, at the site where Mike landed.
“What?! What do you just say?” Officer Joe asked. He turned and he looked at her.
“I said blood, I found blood, look at it,” Officer Ruby said. She pointed at it.
Officer Joe snatched a torch light from the hands of an officer and used it to check out what the officer was showing him. He felt the texture of the liquid and he confirmed that it was blood.
“It can not be?!” Officer Joe said out loud.
“What can not be?” Officer Ruby asked.
“That is blood, Mike’s blood, he was injured, from his fall,” Officer Joe said.
“Really? How did you know that?” Officer Ruby asked.
“Who else fell from a rooftop? No one, so someone does take this to the lab and examine it,” an officer said.
“Okay I will do that but how about Mike? Should we chase after him?” Officer Ruby asked.
Officer Joe knew that with the amount of blood he had lost in Mike's body, he could follow the tray of blood and catch up with Mike but he thought of what Mike said on the roof and he decided to
Let Mike go, he wanted to join Mike indirectly.
“No, we have to go back to the precinct, today we rest for now,” Officer Joe replied.
“I agree with you,” Officer Ruby said.
“Alright, everyone! We have to seal this place, and call it a day!” Officer Joe said.
Everyone went back to work, they sealed the place and conducted more forensics.
Meanwhile, Mike got injured as resumed by Officer Joe. He had a cut on the chest from one of the windows that crashed in when was trying to reduce the impact of the fall when hit several canopies.
He was bleeding, so he struggled to get to the house of Mrs. Parker that night.
Mike was breathing heavily and he got to the door and he knocked on the door.
Knock! Knock! Knock!
“Who is that?!” a voice behind the door asked.
Mike was getting weak and he answered in a weak slow voice tone, “It is…..it is me, it is.., Mike,”. He gasped for air.
“Mike?! Wait! Mike, is that truly you?!” Mrs. Parker asked from behind the door, her voice was now, relieved, and happy.
“Yes… It is me,” Mike replied. He was now getting weaker than before.
Mrs. Parker quickly opened the door and she was glad to see Mike. She rushed and she embraced him.
“Ah!! That hurts! I am injured!” Mike said as Mrs. Parker hugged him.
Mrs. Parker took him in she shut the door and switched on the lights, she took a look at Mike's injury.
“Oh my God! What happened to you? Where have you been?” Mrs. Parker asked. She ripped Mike's clothes open to examine the injury.
“Long………..long story,” Mike said. He was getting tired.
“Okay hold on, son, I will treat you, let me get my first aid box,” Mrs. Parker said. Mrs. Parker ran to get her first aid box and she helped Mike in treating his injury.
The following day.
Mason was in the cell throughout the night, but he had one thought in mind, which was getting out of there.
In the morning, Mason was taken out of his cell and he was taken to the interrogation room for questioning.
Mason sat on the chair in the interrogation room, he was been attended to by Officer Joe.
“Hey buddy, how are you?” Officer Joe asked.
“Good, how are you?” Mason asked. He was smiling with bruises on his face.
“I am good, no need to ask you how was your night because I know it was rough, isn't it?” Officer Joe asked.
“What do you want?” Mason asked.
“Information, who are you? What is your relationship with Mike, just those kinds of stuff,” Officer Joe said. He sat down on the chair. Officer Joe dropped a paper on the table and he picked up a pen he was ready to write down what Mason was about to say.
“My name is Mason, and Mike is my friend, I won't deny him,” Mason replied. He looked at Officer Joe with a smile. Officer Joe wrote down what he said.
“That is it?” Officer Joe asked.
“Yes, anything else? I need a lawyer,” Mason said. Mason was shaking inside but he didn't show it.
“Look, man, your friend left you to be arrested, and you will go to jail for something that you did not do or know anything about, he betrayed you, you were the scapegoat, and I am your only way out of here, so you help me I help you, what do you think about it?” officer Joe asked. He was trying to play mind games with Mason.
Mason thought of it and he asked “What do you want?”.
“Where is Mike heading to? And what are his plans?” Officer Joe asked,
“Okay, come closer, I will tell you anything you need to know….” Mason said
