Chapter One Hundred and Fifty Two
Fiona puts her encounter with Xavier behind her and delves into the competition that is coming her way.
The competition is scheduled for the next two weeks and they are yet to finish so many parts of the competition.
Fiona watched as Daisy took the kids on the dance moves. Fiona is a dancer herself but Daisy has reached a level even she wished she could get to.
How are you doing? She asked Daisy as she approached the class.
We are fine here Fi. The Kids?
They are ready to compete. Good job she complimented her making Daisy nod her head.
Fiona then moved to the new classes that had recently been added to the gym. She saw Matt hard at the Piano with a child about five years of age.
The stress of having to prepare the kids for the upcoming competition and having to run extra classes at the school is taking a toll on him.
Fiona was glad they had another top pianist at the institution, else it would have thrown a dent into her plans and the kids doing the paintings were also fast at their pace.
Thompson has a wide range of letting them showcase what they can do.
And Matt’s imagination skills the children are doing good. Even the oldies at the gym are doing their rounds like some excited kid.
This is going to be huge. Matt chimed from where he sat. He had seen her stand at the entrance watching them with her smile playing on her lips.
You have been busy, Fiona noted. The scruffs on his chin are becoming visible.
Yes, I have been but I am happy doing it. I have never been happier in my life of teaching than I am teaching these children and you gave me that he said with admiration.
Fiona rubbed her hands together at the sudden compliment. Are you happy teaching or are you happy Lillian has complied with your wishes?
I am happy working with the kids. Lillian has got nothing to do with it.
I take it you barely have some sleep then, Fiona raised her eyebrow at him. Was it the thought of the kids that kept you awake?
Thoughts of the kids? He rubbed his chin gently. You’ve got scruffs on your chin, she pointed out.
Have some rest pal, Fiona said to him. Make time for your woman and yourself.
I don’t think… Ahh Matt exclaimed as he touched his chin again.
I didn’t… I will see it pal, He smiled at her.
Thompson’s got some ideas for pushing the kids who have an interest in painting, have you gotten the memo on it already? Fiona asked to change the subject.
He told me about it this morning. I think it is a good idea, what he is doing.
Cassie has been busy lately with her work with Jamie and it has left the designs department without some helping hand.
I understand, he said. Right then, she nodded. I will leave you with it.
Thanks for stopping by anyway.
Fiona went to the main hall to gather all her other staff for more reports on the competition.
After the meeting, she finally made her way to Jamie’s company.
****
You are to join the competition that is coming up in your school next week, the man told her.
Trisha Black has been out of the psychiatric home for almost a month now. Her skin is almost back to it used to be.
She had been fed, clothed and treated most fashionably just to enter a fucking childish competition she fumed.
You rescued me because of a low standard of competition, she said angrily.
Am I such a joke to you?
No, you are nothing but an impatient spoiled brat. I can see the reason why you ended up at the psychiatric home instead of your soft pillows.
You don’t want to know who you are going against and you are here yapping what I don’t know.
Will you listen to the reason why you are here or would you rather go back to the asylum like a good girl?
Tisha kept quiet over the threat. Not once in her life has she been used as an object of ridicule. Someone like this doesn’t even have the right to speak to her now he is the one ordering her around.
Trisha felt miffed by the idea but she kept quiet.
What do you want me to do? She asked in a quiet voice.
Good girl. You will be up against your old friend and mentor in the finals.
It has been arranged so.
Matt is participating too, her irises wide at the very idea.
Matt, she thought, was someone who was at her beck and call now he loits around with those who put her away. She won’t let the humiliation of these three months pass her by without exacting her revenge.
We need to create doubt in their minds he said to her, do you think you are up to the task? He asked her.
What do you think? She smiled at him and let the game begin.
