Black, Gold and A Bandit

**\[ALICE’s Point of View\]**

“Wait…”

I pushed him but Alpha Zenon didn’t budge. I started to feel nervous. Nervous, not scared. I knew he wouldn’t do anything that was against my will. But I could tell he could barely control himself, and it was dangerous for me.

“You told me you could wait." I said to him, my chest heaving as I stared into his eyes that were burning with primal desire. “I thought you wouldn’t force me to do anything I am not comfortable.”

I was so stupid to tell him to kiss me. I didn’t know why I said it. It was as if in a second I was so mesmerized with the beauty of his face, I forgot to hold myself back.

That golden glow around Alpha Zenon’s eyes disappeared. He blinked his eyes away from me with an ache etched on his face as he pulled away from me and the bed. He stood with his back to me and dragged his hand at his face. “I’m sorry, Alice. I-I don’t know what is happening to me.”

I didn’t know what happened to me either. I couldn't explain why I asked him to kiss me. There was an unexplainable attraction I had for Alpha Zenon. Was it the same feeling he had for me? Why was my heart racing when he was so near? Why was his scent so divine when I smelled his skin?

I propped my elbows on the bed. I felt something strange in my groin, and it made me feel so embarrassed, lusting for the man that wasn’t my fate. I wanted to brush off the shame I felt. He’s technically my fiance, right? Maybe it was natural to fancy a man even though he wasn’t my mate. Or maybe not?

Goddess, what’s happening to me?

“N-No you don’t have to apologize, Alpha Zenon. I…” I wanted to tell him it was my fault for asking him to kiss me but that would only make him feel worse after I asked for it and then changed my mind all of a sudden. “Maybe we just—-”

We were baffled when someone was banging on the door and Alpha Zenon’s eyes turned sharp as he opened it. “Kevin? What’s wrong?”

“A group of rogues trespassed the area, Alpha! We can’t stop them! They are strong and fast! We’re worried because Alpha Bellamy is already on his way towards them and it will be one against five!”

My eyes widened at what I heard. Bellamy! He’s in danger!

“I’ll go with you!” I asserted and Alpha Zenon looked at me as if I, had said something ridiculous to him.

“You are not going anywhere, Alice. You stay here and wait. I will go and send Bellamy some backup.”

I frowned. “I am a trained half-witch, half-lycan, Alpha Zenon! I can’t just stay here and wait while. I couldn’t finish my sentence without hurting him.

No matter what happened, Bellamy was still my mate and I could feel he was in danger!

Alpha Zenon stared at me for seconds, as if contemplating what might happen if he ever allowed me to go to them. But I was more surprised when he didn’t make me beg for it. “Okay. But you stay with me no matter what.”

“I-I will.” I replied, nervous and frantic about what level of danger I was going to face with them.

I had been to fights. I was in numerous fights during my high school years after refusing to put up with others' bullying. When I started having jobs, I had to self-train myself to protect myself and my father every time his opponents from his gambling tried to beat him whenever he had nothing to pay them. I was even on a fight the first and second time Alpha Bellamy and I met in the slums.

Alpha Zenon made sure I could keep up with him and his men as we ran towards the place where the belligerent rogues were. It was a little further from the beach resort but if we didn’t stop them, they could harm people and destroy properties, which I would never let happen.

When we arrived at the scene, Alpha Bellamy was already struggling to break free from three rogues that were pinning him on the ground. I was stunned to see the beautiful and shiny dark fur of his wolf form, which was made intense by his amber eyes that glinted red as he grappled with the three trespassers.

The other two were still in their human form, watching as if enjoying the sight of my mate fighting. Both looked in their mid-forties with their muscled arms folded on their chests.

“Seriously? I thought something had already happened here.” Alpha Zenon shook his head and smiled after he saw the two rogues standing on the other side. One of them raised an arm as if greeting my fiancé and smiled. They knew each other!

Then why—

The three werewolves stopped fighting Bellamy and distanced themselves after they recognized Alpha Zenon. It was as if they had known each other for so long.

I frowned after all of them laughed like they were all good friends. Even Bellamy stood on the ground and snarled at the two men as if the fight was just a practice match or something.

“Uh… What’s happening here?” I asked, still confused. “I thought they were all trespassers.”

“They are.” Alpha Zenon answered with a smile as he put his arm around my shoulder. Bellamy, who was already in his human form, glared at us while putting on his shirt.

“It’s been a long time since you visited this place, Alpha Miller.” One of the rogues approached us and shook hands with the MoonClaw Alpha. “And who’s this pretty little lady beside you?”

He squeezed my shoulders to pull me closer to him, “My soon-to-be Luna.” Alpha Zenon said it with pride and with a huge smile. He seemed eager to introduce me to his friends. I wanted to melt under Bellamy’s glare, but I couldn’t do anything. I was Alpha Zenon’s little prisoner when this engagement set up my mother did to me. And even though I wasn’t comfortable with what was happening in my life, I couldn’t hurt an amazing and good man like Alpha Zenon.

Besides, it already came from Bellamy that he didn't want me. So why would I torture myself by thinking about him when there’s a man who’s willing to do anything for me?

“Alice, these are my trusted patrol group: Sam, Fernando, Gray, Kyle, and Bon. They came from a different tribe and are working for me. They are still rogues, though. They still refused to join my pack since they can’t leave their homes on the mountain near here.”

I nodded at the five tall and muscular men that were all staring at me as if assessing me from head to foot.

“They came after they noticed something changed in the forest.” Bellamy spoke as he averted his eyes from me and looked at my fiance. I could tell there really was tension between the two and I was starting to get worried I might ruin something between them.

“Change?” Alpha Zenon frowned, alarmed at the news the rogues told him.

“He means bandits, Zenon,” Bellamy explained. “And I heard Maverick is leading them to steal and hurt people here in your territory.”

My eyes widened. Maverick. The man who raided our home. Who sent rogues to kill me just a month ago.

“We saw this paper with your name on it. I think it’s from him.” The oldest of the rogues handed Alpha Zenon a piece of folded paper. After my fiance read it, his eyes glinted red as snarls reverberated in his throat.

“What is it?” I asked in panic and took the letter from him.

I was paralyzed in fear.

Maverick had my dad.
