Chapter 63

Chapter 63:

“Are you sure that you didn’t miss me?” Octavius asked in sadness as he couldn’t believe that.

“What’s wrong with you? Also, so what if I missed it or not? Or are you trying to sleep late at night? That won’t work as I have made some appointments tomorrow thus I can’t afford to be late,” Rhiannon said as she pushed Octavius away from her.

“But you requested my presence, I am sure that you missed me,” Octavius said as he whispered in Rhiannon’s right ear.

Rhiannon was flushed and she found herself trembling. Her actions fell into Octavius' eyes who secretly smirked.

“Guess even your body misses me, huh?” he asked as he bit her earlobe.

“Stop it! Can’t you be serious for once?” Rhiannon asked immediately she got her composure.

“But….” Octavius tried talking but upon seeing her glare, he let her go.

“No buts! I am so busy right now! Also, I am sure if we keep sleeping together every time you fail to control yourself, I might end up pregnant and am sure we both don’t want to risk the danger roaming around, right?”

Rhiannon’s words hit him hard. He had already planned on getting a family with her and that’s why he kept insisting but after being reminded, he felt that he was acting so recklessly.

“I am sorry. Let’s cuddle as you tell me what you want to,” he said as he pulled her towards the bed.

Rhiannon didn’t say anything about that but she sighed in relief as she didn’t want her aunt, uncle, and cousins to hear them late at night. She didn’t have any problem sleeping with him if they were at their place as she had also missed him and she wanted him so badly.

“Mom opened a lot of companies. She hoped that by the time I grew up, they would have conquered the business world as she felt that if the companies became top in the business world, will I be able to escape the organizations and even defeat them,” Rhiannon said causing Octavius to stare at her as he fell deep in thoughts.

“The companies you told me about, that ranks no. 3, 5, 8, and 10 are all your companies?” Octavius asked in disbelief.

“That’s what Auntie told me. I want to meet up with the various CEOs so that I can know how to help them. Although those ranks are impressive, they are still far towards mom’s target,” Rhiannon said as she sighed.

“Wife, don’t tell me you plan on surpassing my company! As you know, it’s the first in perfumery!” Octavius said as he pretended to be angry causing Rhiannon to panic.

“I am sorry but I have to. However, after everything cools down, we will merge all the companies,” Rhiannon said hurriedly but Octavius remained silent.

“I am just interested in the perfumery, designs, and catering,” Rhiannon added making Octavius laugh out loud.

Rhiannon frowned as she couldn’t understand why he was laughing at her.

“Why are you laughing at me? Or do you think that I can't achieve to be number one in those industries?” Rhiannon asked and Octavius shook his head.

“Do you know that my maternal family has been the one ranking first in both catering and designs? There hasn’t been anyone who surpassed them,” Octavius said shocking Rhiannon.

She remained silent as she felt that if her husband's family was already at the top then there was no need to work so hard and they would always protect her but after remembering what happened to her and the Clarks, she threw away the idea.

“If you can’t even believe me and support me then I don’t think there is anything else I can say to you. We will see whether I won’t surpass them,” she said before getting out of bed and walking towards the door.

Hearing that and seeing her actions, Octavius panicked.

“Where are you going at this time?” he asked.

“Away from you! I can’t stay in the same room as someone who doesn’t believe me! You are just full of yourself and don’t want to believe and support me!” Rhiannon retorted before opening the door and shutting it after getting out of the room.

She leaned on the door and sighed but her eyes were full of hurt and disappointment. She had wanted him to support her but after hearing what he just said, she knew that she was all alone in everything that she was doing.

Luckily for her, she had carried the documents her aunt had sent her so she went to the guest room and started choosing the designing companies as she wanted to see how they were performing.

After going through them for two hours, she started searching for the top design companies.

She then realized that her mother seemed to have a lot of talented apprentices in the design industry as they most of them ranked top twenty domestically. Thirteen out of twenty companies were her mothers. Internationally, they were all ranked above a hundred.

Although she wanted to join some companies and make it easier to surpass Octavius’ family, which she remembered him telling her that his maternal family was the Andersons Family. She knew that now that she had a conflict with Octavius when he saw some companies being swallowed or joining together, he would know that that was her and she didn’t want that.

She felt that she needed to act distinctively and catch them by surprise. When she took over the first position, she would stand firm and no one else could shake the position.

As she still browsing, she saw some competitions which involved the top 100 designing companies internationally and took a deep breath. She felt that the opportunity she had been waiting for had just arrived. She read it through and saw that the competition would take at least two months which she found short.

Since she didn’t want to alarm the Andersons and the Flores as they were the ones ranked first and second respectively, she didn’t see the need to help the company which was ranked third, fourth, fifth, and seventh.

She wrote down the numbers of the companies she wanted to help, their CEOs, and contact information.

She then arranged everything and went to sleep.

When she woke up, it was already late making her prepare herself in haste then went back to her room as her clothes were there.

Afterwards, she went downstairs where she met Octavius talking to her uncle. She pretended not to see him and greeted her uncle before walking to the dining room.

“What’s going on between you and Octavius? I noticed that you slept in the guest room, did both of you quarrel yesterday, or don’t both of you sleep together even when you are at home?” her aunt Melda asked in worry as she wanted Rhiannon’s and Octavius' relationship to work.

“Nothing,” Rhiannon replied as she served herself since she didn’t want to talk about what had happened the previous night.

“Rhiannon, every marriage has its ups and downs but what matters is whether you can tolerate, respect, and stay loyal to each other,” Melda said in a serious tone while Rhiannon nodded her head as her mother had also told her the same thing when she was still young.

At that time, she didn’t understand what the latter was trying to say but after everything that happened, she understood it all.

“Aunt, I will also be meeting with some of the designing companies but not today. Also, Octavius won’t be joining us for today’s meeting. Please tell him that,” Rhiannon said causing Melda to stare at her as she wondered whether the young lady had understood what she had just said or had she had it before it came out through the other ear.

Nonetheless, she didn’t comment anything about it as she didn’t want the latter to say that she was interfering too much with her life when she was just her family’s servant.

“Rhiannon, is it true that you aren’t Clark’s family child?” Ruby asked as she walked into the dining room followed by Raven.

The two stared at Rhiannon as they waited for her answer.

Rhiannon was shocked when she heard their question and couldn’t understand how they had found that out.

“Who said that?” She asked as she calmed herself.

“It has been circulating the wealthy families in the city, Kaylee is the one going around telling people that and also said that the Clark Company belongs to her since she is the only Clark’s child,” Raven answered.

Hearing her explanation, Rhiannon’s and Melda’s eyes darkened as they couldn’t believe that.

“What the hell! Master is the one who founded that company but they want to take it by force?” Melda asked angrily as she felt as if she could beat something.

Seeing her mother’s reactions, the girls felt that they had misunderstood.

“We sorry are sorry. We shouldn’t have doubted and thought her words were true,” Raven said in an apologetic tone while her little sister nodded her head/

“There is no need to feel sorry as it is true!” Rhiannon said shocking the girls and the men that were in the living room as they could hear the discussion since the women were speaking in voices.

“Seems Kaylee didn’t learn her lesson! Guess I should pay a visit to the Clarks mansion!”
