Chapter 760 Chapter 760
Devin turned to his large brother-in-law. “I appreciate your help here, Boone.”
Boone shrugged. “Family helps family.” He motioned to where everyone was waiting. “Brought a friend from the US Marshall’s office.” His smile was big. “Helps with the jurisdiction problem.”
Devin nodded and checked his phone for the tenth time. Where was Calum with the others? There was no way he was going in there without him present. That, and he was bringing Noah and Griffin. Both were very necessary. Griffin would recognize any guests who worked with Aiden. Noah would know guards. It also helped that they could do things without shifting that others couldn’t.
It was risky to gather this close to the building, but Uri had assured him that they were watching and wouldn’t let anyone enter the underground parking area. He didn’t know how they were doing it; just hoped it worked.
Taggart came toward them. “My men have the outside.” He nodded. “We no know the peoples inside, so is better we just stop the ones that try to leave.”
Devin nodded. “Appreciate it, thanks.”
Taggart looked over to where Deva stood with Amari. “My beauty is no happy to be at the door.”
Devin was thankful that Taggart was dealing with that. Deva’s calm was almost as scary as Amari’s blunt. “We need someone to get those we find out fast.”
“I tell her this. She still no happy.” He smiled. “I fix her happy later.” He chuckled and then turned and walked toward her.
Boone shook his head. “This is quite the crew you have.”
Devin laughed. “You have no idea.” He motioned over at the one corner. “The special ops team and Incursion team have no trouble doing anything that is necessary.”
Boone raised an eyebrow. “But they’re controlled.”
Devin shrugged. “Mostly.”
Boone blew out a breath. “It blew my mind, the stories that Raquel told me about what you’ve been dealing with. Once I recovered from that, I got pissed off. Pissed off is why I’m here, and I can’t wait to get in there and end this.”
“Even after tonight, it’s not over. Tomas is just the start.”
Boone nodded. “I get that.” He cleared his throat. “Have you heard from Rayne? Raquel hasn’t answered my text.”
“They’re not happy we put them up in a hotel room until this is over.” Devin snorted. “I’m sure my mother is the ringleader on that discontent.”
“It’s better they’re not here.” He glanced around. “I think we have everything covered.”
“Sir.”
They turned to see Wynter walking toward them. “The team leaders are going up to the top level to take a look at the building, check entry points, and discuss last-minute strategy.”
Devin nodded and looked at Boone. “Want to join us?”
He grinned. “Love to.”
When he turned to follow Wynter, he saw Calum walking down the ramp, Noah and Griffin right behind him. He breathed a sigh of relief. He pointed to the door Wynter had just gone through. “Going up top to take a look.”
Calum nodded and veered toward the door.
“Hang on, Dad, we’re coming for you.” He whispered. God help Aiden Tomas if his father’s state of health was anything less than perfect.

Devin watched Calum nod to something Kaid pointed to. Boone was standing at the other corner with Raymond; they seemed to be in deep planning together. Wynter, Kenzo, and Jesse stood with him, looking over the edge of the building. Had there ever been an operation that involved this many from the teams? Over eighty of them were here right now. He glanced down at the streets and area and saw no sign of any of them. His people were good.
“You’re coming down to the basement with us?”
He turned to look at Kenzo and nodded. “Yeah. I’ll go in with the teams going up the stairwell.” He pointed to the back of the building. “—and then I’ll go down to the parking and meet up with you there.”
Kenzo nodded. “Griffin gave us a pretty good idea of what we’re up against down there.”
“Who is on the team going down?”
Kenzo grinned. “Raymond, Tripp, Wynter, Jett, Nate, and myself. If areas are secured, a few more can join us.”
Devin blew out a breath. “There’s no room for failure in that team.”
Wynter turned around and smiled at him. “I’m just hoping for enough down there for all of us to get a few hits in, sir.”
He nodded. “I’m sure there will be enough to go around.” He glanced over to see Calum and Kaid coming over. “Are you taking a medic down?”
Jesse shook his head. “Christian is going to be close by with York, but we only have two here tonight from medical.”
Wynter shrugged. “We have Shaelan, she can patch anyone up.”
Devin hoped two were going to be enough. The stories from captives kept running through his mind. Some of them were going to be in bad shape. His heart beat hard in his chest. His dad had to be okay. He wasn’t ready to lead the entire Alliance or their clan. He needed him to live to see grandkids and teach them—and he knew there were going to be babies. Rayne wasn’t accepting anything less than three children. He looked around at the leaders on this roof. With them helping to end the atrocities done to their kind, the future was going to be better than the past. The discussions Rayne and he had with his folks before his dad was taken were going to make sure of that.
“Are we ready?”
He looked at Calum and nodded. “As long as there aren’t any unforeseen events, we are.”
Kaid chuckled. “Our whole life is an unforeseen event, sir. We’ve got this. Let’s go catch us the elusive Aiden Tomas specimen.”
