Chapter 69 Disguise

Immediately after George entered the neighborhood, Isaac walked out of the convenience store at the entrance of the neighborhood.

He was standing in front of the store door and ripping open the pack of cigarettes that he had just bought.

He was wearing a white T-shirt, a pair of cotton shorts, a navy blue cap, and flip-flops on his feet.

His clothes and pants were slightly wrinkled, and he had a plastic bag with snacks and drinks hanging from his wrist.

He looked like an ordinary person who had just woken up and come out to buy things nearby...

Perhaps due to his attire, at this moment he completely lacked the mature aura of a man in his twenties, and instead looked like a young teenager of eighteen or nineteen.

Even his double eyelids, which were originally non-existent, had become slightly more prominent, giving him a youthful appearance.

After undergoing double eyelid surgery, Isaac's face appeared more round than before. He took out a cigarette, bit the tip with his teeth, and lit it.

After taking a deep puff, he raised his head, put the cigarette and lighter in his pocket, and turned to wave at the shopkeeper of the convenience store.

"Goodbye."

The shopkeeper, who had been watching him the whole time, didn't say anything, but smiled and waved, her eyes shining...

Isaac turned around, holding a plastic bag in one hand and a cigarette in the other. He leisurely strolled towards the residential area, while the shopkeeper continued to watch him intently.

That boy is really handsome, especially when he smiles lazily with a mischievous look... It's a pity that she couldn't be twenty years younger...

When Isaac turned into the residential area and passed by the security guard's room, he stuck his head in and asked, "Have you not had lunch yet?"

The security guard was momentarily taken aback by his unfamiliar face, but quickly smiled and replied, "Not yet, it's still early. I'll go later."

Isaac smiled and took out a cigarette from his pocket, offering one to the security guard.

He then looked at the scattered packages on the shelf next to the door and asked, "Are there any deliveries for Building 1 today?"

"Building 1... " The security guard took the cigarette and glanced at the packages, shaking his head.

"Probably in the afternoon."

Isaac nodded with a smile. "I'll come back later in the afternoon then."

"Alright, haha, come back in the afternoon."

Isaac smiled as he walked out of the security guard's room, glancing at the small car parked diagonally across from it, which had been there for two days.

He then turned and entered the corridor of the first building.

Inside the small car, the two police officers who were on stakeout looked at him. After he entered the corridor, they withdrew their gaze. The officer in the passenger seat furrowed his brows and sighed.

"By the way, it seems like it's about time for lunch."

The officer in the driver's seat raised his hand to check the time, picked up his phone, and called the two officers stationed downstairs at George's house to ask what they wanted to eat.

No one suspected anything about Isaac casually walking into the building because their task was solely to protect Ellie.

In the morning, the captain of the criminal investigation team had asked George if they should send the team members Isaac's only photo, the one on his fake identity card.

Having the suspect's appearance would make it easier to track his movements and would also be advantageous for protecting the target.

However, George refused.

After all, the photo on the identification card and the real person were quite different. If the suspect disguised himself in any way, it would be easy for him to stay under the radar.

Moreover, the person was skilled in disguise, as indicated by his ability to impersonate George to get close to his wife.

Issuing an additional task instruction would only distract the team members. Originally, they would pay attention to anyone approaching Ellie whom they deemed could pose a threat.

However, once they mentally accepted the existence of a suspect, their subconscious would pay more attention to people who resembled the suspect and overlook those who didn't, which was not a good thing.

And... George didn't want to startle the snake...

At this moment, Isaac had already opened the door and walked in. He closed the door, placed the snacks he bought on the coffee table, used his foot to hook the trash bin, and spat out two thumb-sized spheres of silicone. His previously slightly round face instantly appeared thinner.

As for the double eyelid tape stuck to his eyelids...

He didn't rush to deal with it, but rather extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray and took out a can of coffee from the plastic bag.

As he opened it, he walked to the kitchen window and looked down.

After a while, the car door did indeed open, and a man in short-sleeved trousers got out of the car.

He lifted the coffee and took a sip, leaning on the kitchen counter and quietly watching.

A few minutes later, the man returned, carrying two bags and walking towards the car.

He opened the car door and handed one bag inside, then closed the door and walked towards the residential area. It was obvious that there were two groups of people guarding here...

Isaac's lips curled up slightly as he lifted the coffee to his lips and took a sip.

Two bags, one bag with two boxed meals, for four people... George really underestimated him...
