Chapter 118

The so called picnic was happening in his own backyard. Though he claimed to have moved out a long time ago it looked like he was comfortable with the place still to me. If I said backyard then allow me to correct myself. This was no backyard this was a botanical garden just outside a huge house that should belong to Greek gods.

The house was made of all sorts of marble where they could and the rest was a modernized form with uncovered glass in some places of the house that you could see right through into the house. It was overwhelming for a girl like me. in all my eighteen years, never have I seen such a display of huge amounts of money in architecture. The person who designed this must be well accomplished by now. Wow.

And the botanical gardens? Well these were a whole story. My suspect? Alice in wonderland happened here. It was easy to imagine a queen of cards hidden somewhere in this ridiculous mass of a backyard.

The ‘backyard' had its own maze big enough to get you lost for weeks.

We were somewhere on the softest blanket my skin as ever touched. The material looked like a million bucks and we were sitting on it on the dirt. The different lives that we all experience out here. Imagine having enough money to fix every little problem you had.

With such amounts, I would have easily sued Claire to violation of my motherly rights and my wifely rights. I would have sued her with lots of billions there would be no chance of her getting away with it but she did.

I can only mourn what I lost now. But I only lost him because he wanted to first.

"Bella?"

I whip my head "Mhh. What did you say?" I say. Once again I am caught day dreaming and didn't hear what he said.

"I said I wanna tell you something" he slurs in that accent that sounds more southern now.

I look around hoping it's not going to be what I feared most. I didn't want to sour our friendship because he asked me something I wasn't capable of answering back.

"Tell me" I say not sure if I was telling the truth myself. Did I want to hear what he wanted to say to me? only one way to find out.

"Um, well." He stutters. Why was he failing to say it? Should I really hope hope for the worst?

"Um, well Bella." "Yes?" I probe lightly. I couldn't handle anticipating, I am not one for patience. It feels like I am going to explode when a person makes me wait in deliberate just to put me off. I wasn't good with that.

"I want you to promise me not freak and run off. This place it's quite rocky, wouldn't want to break a limb trying to flee." He says smoothly.

Oh no. it was something bad, otherwise, why would he be warning me not to run? Now I was really antsy about hearing what was on his mind. What could it be?

Even the sweet smelling food I the basket was at the back of my head this time. he had my full attention.

"No you see, uh, um. Maybe if I showed you it would sound so accusing" he stammers some more.

What did he mean by accusing? Was he about to accuse me of something? I rake my mind for any possible incident that I could possibly be accused of by him. But I came up blank. No I couldn't have heard that right then again he did say about showing me so that it did sound accusing.

He stands from the spot next to me. After he leaves that's when I notice how close he was. This was January but for some reason this winter wasn't that cold and barely snowed. That was strange, how did I not notice this odd behavior of the weather. I have been so engrossed in my own problems that the mare weather slipped my mind.

As I am looking up to see what Jeremiah was up to. As my eyes make contact with him and shook. Never would I have imagined that the situation was like this. I must have had my mouth open because my throat felt dry all of a sudden. I might have squeaked too but I was not aware of anything else.

In front of me stood this majestic creature, a creature of my kind in all its glory. There was no sign of Jeremiah but this white colored beast. A very good looking one I might add. Now it all made sense.

He didn't want to sound accusing that's why it was mandatory he just showed me himself. Jeremiah was a werewolf and I suspected his family too.

His piercing eyes look me in the eye as if challenging me, challenging me to bolt. I wasn't about to run from this place and leave my pups behind. Now it made sense why the senior looked at me knowingly.

He is waiting for my reaction. I could tell, he was hoping that I would be okay with it. Honestly, which little girl like me who was about to be a mother of three could deny the protection of her own kind? Wasn't this what it was, why would he bother telling he is a were if not to ask to protect me since this world was vast and cruel. Especially to creatures like myself.

He turns back to his human form and sits back down. "So…, what do you think?" he finally asks.

I look him in the eye and tell him in a mare whisper, "You are a beautiful creature"

These words seem to hit him in some way, his expression softens and looks very long and hard at my lips before shaking his head. It was as if he was trying to get rid of a mental image lodged in his mind.
