Chapter 200 GOOD BYE
Chapter 200 GOOD BYE
Chapter
Lyra's POV
"Ahhh... Ahhh...!"
The scream tore through the air like a thunder strike.
Fire, mixed with heavy brimstone, erupted from my hand. My entire body glowed with a greenish light.
That was all I needed to strike Alpha Vexhood as I marched into the open hall.
"No...!" Alpha Vexhood's voice echoed through the hall like thunder.
Standing directly in front of Alpha Vexhood... was Alpha Jax.
He spread his arms wide, like a man who had accepted his fate.
A man waiting for death to claim him.
But today was not his day to die. He had escaped death by going to Alpha Dominion Pack. He would escape it once again.
Right at the corner of the hall... stood Lyra.
Her mouth hung open.
She suddenly dropped to her knees with a dull thud.
"I knew it..." Lyra cried out.
Alpha Jax slowly opened his eyes.
Everything before him felt like a dream.
His mouth fell open, and he could no longer close it.
Alpha Vexhood was struggling, completely engulfed in flames.
"This is for the pain you caused my family... This is for my father..." I said, my voice filled with burning rage as I walked toward Alpha Vexhood, who continued struggling against the fire consuming every part of his body.
"This is for my mother..." I continued, more fire pouring from my hand and overwhelming his body. "The innocent woman who did nothing wrong, yet you struck her with sickness until she spent the last days of her life in pain... all because of your desire to put yourself and your wayward son on the throne."
"No... It wasn't like that..." Alpha Vexhood cried, desperately trying to defend himself. "Please... stop this fire. It is burning me!"
"This is for me... Mila."
The words dropped into the middle of the hall like shattered ceramic.
"The one you plotted against with this wicked soul..." I pointed at Rosa, who trembled where she knelt. "...and her wicked mother, together with all your corrupt elders, to manipulate and kill me before my time."
"Mila? So... Mila... Mila came back?" the words crashed from Alpha Jax's lips.
"Yes... I came back," I answered. "I came back because you knew nothing. You were only manipulated. I came back... for revenge."
By then, palace workers had begun gathering outside the hall.
Shock was written across every face.
Their mouths fell open as though a river had split a rock.
"Save me! I won't do this again!" Alpha Vexhood cried as the flames continued consuming him without mercy.
"I will change my ways! I will appease the gods! I know I have committed grievous sins!"
"I am the god you seek to appease. I came back to dwell among flesh as Lyra. I am no longer that young, naive girl you persuaded these wicked souls to stone to death."
I pointed toward the pack members who stood outside the hall, watching in fear.
"I am the right hand and shield of Queen Ashteroth."
A long gasp swept through the crowd, followed by deep murmurs.
"You all believe this evil man called Vexhood is favored by the gods." I swept my gaze across the crowd. "You are all wrong. He is power-hungry and desires nothing but the throne for himself and his generations."
I turned back to him, my finger pointed at his face.
"Vexhood, you are beyond redemption," I declared with burning anger. "Here is my judgment. You shall not know death for the next hundred years. Pain shall be your food, and agony shall be the wine you drink. Both young and old who see you shall stone and bruise you for the evil you have committed."
I shifted my gaze to Alpha Jax.
"I command you, Alpha Jax, to write to Alpha Dominion Pack and bring Ryder back to this pack to answer for his sins."
I paused before continuing.
"And also..."
I looked directly into Alpha Jax's eyes.
"Bring Veronica back from Crimson Pack. That is where this wicked man..." I pointed at Alpha Vexhood. "...has kept her. Alpha Vexhood and my stepmother had been lovers even before the death of my father."
A loud murmur spread through the hall.
"Bring back every enemy who destroyed my household and yours. Bring them all back to this pack to answer for their evil deeds."
I walked through the hall as though I owned it.
Alpha Vexhood, who was still burning, had collapsed onto the floor. He continued struggling against the flames as though he could somehow put them out.
But it could never happen.
All his powers were gone.
By then, the green glow surrounding my body had faded away completely.
I walked back to where Rosa was still kneeling.
"Please, Mila... I knew it. Something told me you had reincarnated. I didn't know... It was a mistake."
She begged as sweat poured down her face, and she cried like a frightened child.
"Rosa... my wicked stepsister. The one obsessed with power, fame, and filthy wealth. The one who would sacrifice everything in this world to get what she wanted."
I stopped before her.
"My own sister... yet you saw me as nothing but a rival. You wanted to steal everything that belonged to me."
"I am sorry, Mila," she pleaded, rubbing her palms together.
"You shall never know peace again," I said sharply. "You shall become nothing but a shadow of yourself."
My skin glowed once more.
The words had barely left my lips when Rosa's skin began to wrinkle like an old rag.
"No... No... Don't do this, Mila!"
She screamed as the wrinkles slowly spread across every part of her body.
Then, in the blink of an eye, Rosa became unbelievably old.
She looked like someone waiting for death to claim her.
"P-please... M-Mila..."
Her voice became weak and broken like that of an ancient woman.
Bulging veins appeared across her frail body.
Another long gasp rose from the crowd.
. . .
A few months later...
Baby Rain slept peacefully in his crib.
Alpha Jax stood beside me.
He was overwhelmed with joy, having carried our little bundle of joy several times before gently laying him back into his bed.
I watched them with happiness—a deep, genuine joy that came from seeing a father bond with his heir.
I lay comfortably on the bed, healthy and without any complications.
The pack had finally been restored.
Alpha Jax had ordered Alpha Vexhood's shrine to be torn down and destroyed. He also established a new law that no one from Vexhood's bloodline would ever again become a priest or elder in Stormfang Pack.
Veronica and Ryder had been brought back and thrown into prison.
Alpha Vexhood and Rosa had been cast out of the pack.
I later received word that Rosa had eventually been stoned to death by children.
I felt no pity for her.
She had reaped the reward of her own wickedness.
"Come here, my Alpha," I said, patting the bed beside me.
He immediately walked toward me, leaving Baby Rain asleep.
He gently brushed the strands of hair behind my ears.
Then I spoke quietly.
"It is time for me to go home. I have fulfilled my mission here."
Before I could say anything more, tears began streaming down his face.
"I have stayed longer than the time I was given. Ashteroth is calling me home."
"So... you are going to leave me forever, Mila?" Alpha Jax asked, more tears rolling down his cheeks.
No longer Lyra.
Only Mila.
Our eyes locked like two lovers about to be separated by war and famine.
"I will visit you in your dreams. Take care of Rain. He is your shield, your strength, and the backbone of your legacy. Take good care of him."
"I... Is that..." He paused as his lips trembled while holding my h
and tightly.
He pulled me into his embrace as though I were the most precious treasure he had ever known.
Then, with my head resting against his chest...
I breathed my last breath in his arms.
