Chapter 195 SUMMONED FOR PUNISHMENT
Chapter 195 SUMMONED FOR PUNISHMENT
Chapter 194
Rosa's POV
“Shut your trap!” Alpha Vexhood snapped.
His hand pointed at everyone surrounding him.
He turned his gaze to me, and fear gripped me between my legs.
“Your punishment will not be in the presence of these lots,” he said, gritting his teeth.
My heart sank on hearing that. I clutched the hem of my cloth. I didn’t know the type of punishment that awaited me in Alpha Vexhood’s hands.
He slammed the totem again—a sign of power, attack, and complete obliteration of his enemies.
Green smoke overwhelmed his surroundings, swallowing almost everything in the palace hall.
“By the Holy One, I swear… to Asheteroth, the goddess of peace and love…” Leo’s voice shook, trying hard to defend himself. “I am innocent…”
“I am using this moment to pass across a message—that the gods are watching both the young and the old in the pack!” his voice erupted.
“You have lied and desecrated the seat of the ancestors of this pack,” his voice came out raw and sharp, cutting through the air like a horsewhip.
“That is why I left the pack—to seek forgiveness for your filthy, idiotic sins…”
He walked around the room. His face was hard and impervious, filled with venom. The greenish smoke engulfed him.
His feet struck the floor—a raw demonstration of power, control, and dominance.
“I have gone to seek the face of the Holy Ones on the Seven Mountains. I received their word—that you perverts have deviated away from them…”
“Just like your late, stupid king, who disobeyed the warnings of the gods with flagrant dishonor.”
Everywhere fell silent. Fear gripped the faces of everyone.
Suddenly, Alpha Vexhood turned.
He stretched his totem toward poor Leo, lying on the floor.
Bang!
Leo’s head left his body. It shot into the air and landed on the floor with a dull thud.
His legs shook violently, as if a surge of electricity had passed through them.
“Ahhh!”
Heavy screams followed.
Everyone ran out of the palace hall—both young and old.
Quick feet stumbled, trampling over each other, squeezing through the doorway. Those who could jumped through the windows.
I ran too, following their direction outside, when I heard—
“Come back here, Rosa!” Alpha Vexhood commanded.
His voice made my legs tremble as I managed to stop.
I couldn’t look at him. I couldn’t move either. I watched both young and old in the pack squeezing themselves through the door.
Pandemonium reigned. Voices of tension and panic cut through the air like a whip as everyone tried to escape. The pillars of the palace shook—not because of anything, but from the way the earth vibrated beneath my knees.
I stood still, approaching the door. Every part of my body trembled. A few people coming behind me almost knocked me down.
Fear was obvious—something physical to hold onto. It was the air everyone breathed.
“Rosa, come back here!”
I turned.
Then I saw Alpha Vexhood sitting in one of the elders’ chairs.
His fingers curled in the air, beckoning me to move closer.
The remaining air in my lungs almost escaped my body. Sweat soaked through my trousers and cloth.
I watched Alpha Vexhood seated on the chair, like a king on his throne.
His face was reddish, his grip tightened around his totem. Greenish smoke surrounded him.
My legs wouldn’t move, as if the veins and arteries responsible for movement had failed me. They were heavy, like thick slabs of concrete attached to them. I dragged myself slowly, like a snail, across the floor toward where Alpha Vexhood sat.
I knew death had come—or a horrible punishment awaited me. Every move, manipulation, and plan I had made in the palace—Alpha Vexhood knew.
He saw them. He had been waiting for the perfect time to strike.
The large palace hall had suddenly become empty. I could still hear fading footsteps as they disappeared.
Those who had been trampled had gathered themselves.
Staying alive—even bleeding—to meet their families and loved ones was better than falling to sudden death in the hands of Alpha Vexhood.
My eyes quickly darted to Leo—his remains. His lifeless body was still twitching on the ground. His head, separated from the rest of his body, had rolled to the foot of one of the pillars, staring into nothing.
Alpha Vexhood tilted his face upward and let out a demonic laugh toward the roof of the hall.
Then he quickly turned his gaze to me. The laughter vanished, replaced by intense bitterness.
Silence descended into the room.
“Do you think the gods would allow you to mess up my son’s life the same way you did to Mila?”
