Episode 6: Ava Been Rescued Earlier That Night
Gwen
Earlier That Night
I was actually heading straight to Ava's room to help her prepare for her marriage, but then I saw her with Caleb, and I knew that they were not to be disturbed.
So, I decided to let them have their moment and returned back to the kitchen to continue making my meal.
"Gwen!" A voice sounded behind me, and I turned around to see that it was one of my omega colleagues, Samson.
"Alpha Zed needs to see you," he informed me and left immediately, which I didn't hesitate to follow.
When I reached Alpha Zed, he informed me that his guests needed a special preparation of food in the dining room, and they were already waiting for me. So, I needed to be fast.
In a hurry, as he had ordered, I quickly headed back to my kitchen but I was so shocked when I sighted Ariel inside the kitchen.
As soon as I set my eyes on her, I knew that all my suspicions were true! The wedding was never for Ava but for Ariel. They must have had another plan upstairs. Otherwise, Ariel was supposed to have left the pack long ago before the full moon, as I thought she had. So, what was she still doing here?
Well, I didn't want to rush in, so I hid in the corner and watched her.
I saw her make a cup of tea, but I noticed her adding some substance to it that I was sure was not healthy.
Just then, Caleb walked into the kitchen, and I couldn't be more shocked because they were obviously in this together.
"So, what's the plan? We don't have much time anymore. The bride will soon be called out," Caleb said, while I watched closely as Ariel gave him a deadly smirk.
"Don't worry, Caleb, because we have her in our grasp. Now, take this," she said as she handed him the tea cup.
"With some bread to make it look more real," she added, while giving him the bread.
"Now, go and apologize to Ava and give her the bread and tea. She definitely won't live to testify," Ariel said. As soon as she made this statement, I knew that the substance I saw her adding to the tea was a poison.
"Sorry, but what did you put inside this tea?" Caleb asked trying to smell the cup.
"It's just something that will terminate her pregnancy, and she will bleed to death in a matter of seconds," Ariel responded.
I knew it! I knew that's exactly what it was. She has poisoned it for Ava!
"No! Why would I do that? There are better options than killing her. Besides, she's carrying my child, Ariel. I can't do that," Caleb responded, as Ariel placed her hand on his cheek.
"Don't tell me you care about that girl. What baby can she give you that I won't? Caleb, just do this once and for all so we can have no obstacles in our marriage," Ariel said. Caleb took a deep breath and looked at her.
"Are you sure I can do this, Ariel?" Caleb asked.
"Of course, you can do more than this. Please, do it once and for all," Ariel responded. Caleb left, and Ariel looked around to see if anyone was watching. When she saw no one, she left.
"I need to warn Ava immediately," I muttered as I ran out from my hiding place and headed to Ava's room.
Just running out of the passage I immediately ran into Samson.
"Ouch! Ava, where are you hurrying to? Do you want to blind me?" he said, covering his left eye.
"I'm so sorry! so so sorry about that" I said, leaving him behind, but he grabbed my hand.
"Wait here! Where are you running to? Besides, where is the meal you were told to serve the guests?" Samson asked.
"That can wait for later," I responded.
"You were told they are already at the dining room waiting for you!" Samson yelled at me, and I think he's right.
Alpha Dante personally warned me about that, but I wish he could understand. Anyway, I should just serve them quickly.
"Oh, you're right, Samson, but you could do me a favour. Please help me prepare the food for them at the dining room," I said, hurrying back to the kitchen and starting to dish out some food for them.
"I will what? I have no idea about food! I can't serve them," he responded, but I didn't say a word. I just put the meal in front of him.
"Help me serve it, please! how can you have no idea about food? do you eat shit for a living?" I said after dishing out the food and immediately left.
I began heading straight to Ava's room, knowing that I must already be late.
"You made me do it! I didn't just kill her, but my own baby!" I heard a loud voice yelling, and I knew that I was truly late.
I slowed down my pace and approached them slowly. It was Caleb and Ariel having a secret discussion.
"Caleb, you don't have to shout. Someone might hear us!" Ariel whispered to him while Caleb had his hands on his head. I could feel so much regret in his heart as he shed many tears.
"I couldn't have! You made me do it! Ariel, you!" Caleb said.
"That's enough, Caleb! All we have to do now is dispose of her body, then everything will be fine! You never loved her before, so don't act like you do now!"
"This is a strategic moment for both of us, not a time to be frightened," Ariel responded.
"So what are we supposed to do now? How are we going to dispose of her body?" Caleb asked.
"That won't be a bother at all, just come with me," Ariel said, grabbing his hand, and they walked away.
Then I asked myself why Caleb is so obsessed with Ariel. He wasn't even doing all this on his own. It is advice from Ariel!
I wonder why someone would choose a wicked soul over genuine love, nope no one does that. It simply means that Ariel was right. Caleb never loved Ava at first.
Though as they left, I quickly rushed out of my hiding position and ran into Ava's room!
Seriously, I couldn't believe my eyes. I almost screamed but managed to cover my mouth. Look at the way blood is flowing out between her legs. They just went straight for the baby.
I managed to approach her as tears were already streaming down my face. I'm totally confused. I don't even know what to do.
"My lady! My lady! Are you alright?" I said with a hushed voice, tapping her gently, but got no response. Then I placed my ear on her chest and discovered that she's still breathing slowly.
"Oh, thank goodness!" I said as I managed to support her hand on my shoulder and began to take her away.
I was walking along the passage when I heard footsteps approaching. I quickly hid in the corner with Ava.
And the footsteps belonged to Ariel and Caleb. They came with a dagger and a bag. I was so irritated seeing that because their plan was nothing else but to cut her body into pieces and put her into that bag.
They passed by and headed straight to Ava's room. I attempted to run out, but they left her room so quickly, forcing me to stay put in my hidden posture.
"How could she have escaped? she's dead! how can she disappear just now? We must find her. She must not escape for any reason! I have to get rid of her once and for all, and my father must not know anything about this!" Caleb shouted out of anger and restless mind.
"Calm down, Caleb. It seems that we have already found a trace. Look at the blood on the floor," Ariel said. I started breathing heavily, knowing that they would trace it back and find me here.
I managed to stare at them as they approached my hiding spot. Fear coursed through my body, and I realized there was nothing I could do at this moment. We were already caught.
