Chapter 150 Chapter One Hundred and Fifty

Chapter 150 Chapter One Hundred and Fifty
ALPHA XANDER POV

"Mama went after them?" Leo asked with a furrowed brow and I nodded.

"Stay with Sage and Zayn. You mustn't leave them for any reason"

"Father..."

"Not now Leo" I snapped, a little too harshly. He recoiled and I sighed.

"You aren't a child anymore Leo and this is fucking important. Your mother and the girls. They're out there. One mistake...one wasted moment and we could lose them. We don't want that to happen. I want to know that you're capable of taking care of them"

"Understood" Leo straightened.

I touched his shoulders lightly and I offered a smile.

"I'll bring the girls back" he nodded, his eyes shining with trust.

I walked past him, shifting outside the building and running towards the north border. I reached there in a short time and then I spotted Gabriel and Xavier conversing with a guard. I shifted back and pulled on my pants.

"Where the fuck is she?" I thundered marching towards the guard.

"A-Alpha..." he stuttered, backing away as I closed in.

"I-I don't know. I took a break and I...." The rest of his words faded away as I got the first whiff of my mate's scent.

I grabbed the bastard by the scruff of his shirt and his eyes widened in fear as he gazed up at me.

"Where the fuck is she?" I growled.

"I-I don't know. I didn't see her. I swear"

"You fucking liar. I can smell her all over you" I threw him angrily and he crashed into the tree. My beast rattled inside of me, his presence climbing to the surface as he struggled for control. He wanted to tear into the bastard.

"I don't..." he tried to back away but Xavier blocked his path.

He crouched down next to him.

"You'd better start speaking before things get really ugly" he spoke in a light voice. The guard's eyes shifted from one face to another.

"Where the fuck is she" I yelled, letting him have a glimpse of my beast.

His screams pierced through my ears and I drew closer again.

"This is the last time I'll ask. Where is she?"

"A-Across the river" he muttered and my eyes darkened.

"Across the river?"

"The instruction on the note..."

"You're the bloody traitor? You let them take the girls" his eyes widened as wide as his mouth but no words came through. I wanted to smash his head repeatedly but I stopped myself. There was still a lot I could get out of him.

I needed to find Anna first.

"Gabriel has the guards lock him up. Xavier was going after Anna"

I pulled away from the guard as I ran down the path. Down to the only river along the border.

Anna's scene was faint, almost missable. Xavier and I shifted as we swam across the river.

The moment we set foot on land, I noticed something amiss. Anna's scent wasn't detectable on this side. Not even a whiff. She'd never crossed the river.

Xavier and I exchanged glances. He knew exactly what I was thinking.

"He fooled us" I muttered.

"Unless they fooled him. He wouldn't lie. Not in the face of death"

"I'm going to know what it really is when I fucking lay my hands on him again. He'll regret ever betraying me. Search the area. I'm heading back to the pack"

He nodded and I swam back.

Gabriel was waiting at the border when I arrived.

"Amy, any news?"

"She never crossed the border. I'm going to see the bastard"

"We received a message. Anna's parents are on their way"

"Did they already find out?"

"Our messenger couldn't have gotten to them already. There was an urgency in the letter. They wanted to speak to you and Anna as soon as they arrived"

"Let me know once they arrive. I'm going to that bastard"

Gabriel nodded as I marched through the pack and to the dungeon.

Gabriel had strung the guard up with chains.

"I don't have the patience to ask anything twice" I muttered as I traced my fingers over the knives on display.

He struggled in his position, the chains clanking against each other and making a loud sound.

"I want you to tell me all you know"

"I told you....she went over the.."

"Wrong answer" I growled as I stabbed the knife deep into his stomach. His scream bounced off the walls. I let the knife stay in and picked another.

"Where are they taking her?"

"I don't...I don't know..." he cried and I stabbed the second knife into his knee. My beast kept clawing from the inside, wanting his own turn and taste at blood.

Question after question and I didn't like any of the answers. When Gabriel came to find me, he was passed out with knives sticking into his body at different points.

"They're here" I cleaned my hands on the first rag that I could find and stepped out of the dungeon.

Belinda was pacing outside the hallway and waiting for me.

"Alpha.."

"Not now Belinda"

"Xander"

"Tomas" I said and moved faster.

"You're here already? Did the letter get to you that fast" Belinda said as she marched up beside me.

"Letter? What Letter?" Anna's parents exchanged a confused look.

"The one from the Luna. She asked me to send it across. I was going to use a messenger but I sent it through Farron"

"What?"

"The man that's always here with you"

"We know but Farron hasn't been in the pack for a long time. In fact, that's the reason we're here"

"Did something happen?" Tomas asked.

"Anna.." I raked my fingers through my hair.

"The girls were taken last night. Salem and Freya...."

"What? How the fuck did that happen?" I'd never heard Anna's mother cuss.

"Val.."

"I told Anna. I told her she wasn't any fucking good. Where are they now?"

"Anna snuck out to find them. She had been taken and I'm trying to find out where she is. I already sent word across to you but it looks like you were already on your way. Did something happen in your pack?"

They exchanged a glance.

"Farron became an issue for us for a while"

"Didn't you send him to this side for some business?"

"No. Not at all. He got violent and killed someone. Went off about how he was supposed to succeed us"

His mate cut him off.

"He talked about Anna. He had this crazed look in his eyes. We wanted to send a message but I thought it'd be best if we came over to warn you ourselves. We already planned a trip for later in the month and then....Farron disappeared. I had this bad feeling. With that girl who looked so much like Val showing up in your pack. It had me worried and I had to come. I had no idea..."

"Farron may have something to do with this?" I asked through clenched teeth.

"I don't know. With the way he's been acting lately, he is very much capable of it"

"And Val...Val grew up with them?"

"Val is dead"

"No. She was in this pack. She took the children" Anna's mother gasped and her husband held her up to support her.

"How is that possible?"

"Farron and Val. They could be working together" I muttered, piecing everything together.

"Oh goodness. They are working together. He must have planned this with her. We have to find them. They're dangerous to Anna"

"Why? Why would they work together? Didn't you say Anna and Val were friends?"

"They were. But Val and Farron had something too. They were going to get mated"

"He was Anna's intended"

"Yes. But before that, he belonged to Val"
