Chapter 141 First day as a queen

Despite feeling tired,I lazily stood up from the couch and walked to Luciano who was walking to me and we met midway.

Luciano wrapped his strong hands around me, "I'm happy that you chose me."He whispered and his grip on my body only tightened.

We pulled off after basking in each other's arms for a while.Luciano brushed hair strands from my face and tucked it behind my ear.I looked into those grey eyes and all I saw was care and affection.

"I will always choose you over and over again."I whispered but loud enough for him to hear.Before I could say more words,he locked our lips and kissed me deeply.

"I have been holding back from doing this to you for way too long."He told me through the mind-link as he continued to kiss me passionately.

I was breathless when Luciano pulled off and I gasped for air greedily.The corner of his lips curved into a smile.

"I told you that I would come back to you, didn't I?"He asked with a raised eyebrow and I couldn't help but roll my eyes at his words.  We changed into comfortable clothes and cuddled on the bed.

"I talked to Andrian."I stiffened when I heard Luciano's words and I was quiet for a while.I carefully turned on the bed and looked at Luciano.

"Do you know him?"I inquired.Luciano was quiet for a while,he heaved a deep sigh and nodded.

"Yes,he is the prince of Greenwood kingdom. Andrian is a good friend of mine. He's the one who takes care of all my needs whenever I go to Greenwood kingdom to visit the king."Luciano explained to me.

"He has accepted the rejection.I hope he will find someone who will make him happy because he deserves it.  I told him it's not all about being fated.It's about true love and supporting one another no matter how tough things might be sometimes."Luciano explained to me and I nodded in agreement.

I moved close to Luciano and rested my head on his chest as I listened to his heartbeat.  He wrapped one arm around me and gave my shoulder a gentle squeeze,  then planted a kiss on my hair.

I explained to Luciano about my parent's decision. He was sad to know that my mother and grandpa would be leaving the castle few months to come.  However, there was nothing we could do about it.

"My family owns farms.I think we will let them choose for themselves where they could like to live.''Luciano told me, "I think that is a good idea."I agreed with Luciano's opinion.

Rebecca informed us that dinner was ready and we headed to the dining hall to have dinner. Everyone was already seated, Luciano and I were the only ones who were missing.  I noticed Seb and Alexa were still around and I smiled at them, acknowledging there presence.

All kinds of food and drinks were served to celebrate our crowning. I ate my favourite dishes and drank apple juice since I couldn't drink wine.

"For the first time, I saw someone  nervous,"Mark said as he looked at Luciano and everyone smiled at his audacity.

"I'm your king and I deserve respect, Mark!"Luciano said and Mark groaned,  "Kings become nervous too,you know."He continued to tease his brother and everyone at the table chuckled.

We talked about random stuff and I gave my opinion when necessary. It was story time when dinner was over. Since I didn't have that much to talk about and Luciano was busy talking to Grandpa and the queen about what to do now that he had become a king, I decided to go to the balcony to breathe some fresh air.

It was cold on the balcony and I couldn't help but shiver.I hugged myself as though doing so would protect me from the cold. The sky was clear and it looked so beautiful.The surrounding was calm and it felt so peaceful as the wind blew my hair away.I stared at the tall trees as the swayed to the wind and I couldn't help but smile.

My mind jolted back to the present when I felt someone cover me with a jacket on my shoulders. I turned my head to look at my knight in shining armour and that's when I realised that it was Sebastian.

"It's too cold,you will catch a cold."I held the jacket that he used to cover me with on my shoulders so it wouldn't fall.

"Thank you."I told him and he smiled at me, nodding.It was silence for a while on the balcony.

"Congratulations on being crowned as the queen of the South."Sebastian told me,  "Thank you."I said and gave him a polite smile. I looked back to the sky, admiring its beauty.

"You deserve it.  I know you will make a good queen because I know your capabilities when it comes to leadership."Sebastian told me and I was quiet for a while. It reminded me of how we used to lead Mountain Pack together. I heaved a deep sigh and turned my head to look at me.

"I'm glad that you believe in me.It means alot to me."Sebastian turned his head to look at me then smiled.

"I hope that we will be able to trade and have a good relationship between Mountain Pack and Southern Kingdom," Seb said and my lips curved into a smile.

"Of course there will be a good relationship between the two. As long as we don't do anything that might cause war.There is already a good relationship between the two, I think there is nothing to worry about."I assured Sebastian and he nodded in agreement.

Another silence reigned the balcony,just a comfortable silence that the both of us enjoyed.

"I heard what happened back in the Arena."Sebastian said and I stiffened.

"You managed to fight the mate bond?I'm proud of you because it's something that I failed to do."Sebastian said. I was quiet for a while.I turned my head to look at him and our eyes locked.I turned to look at the sky and heaved a deep sigh.

"I didn't want to break the promise that I made to Luciano. I promised him that I would reject my fated mate and choose him over my fated." I paused and took a deep breath.

"Luciano rejected his fated mate, the princess of Valley kingdom and chose me over her. He risked everything to be with me even though most of the people thought that I'm worthless because I'm half-breed."I explained to Sebastian and he nodded in understanding.

"My queen?"I heard a familiar masculine voice and I couldn't help but turn toward the source of the voice.Luciano walked through the balcony door,his hair hanging free and a smile on his face.

Luciano and Sebastian nodded at each other, exchanging silent words which I had no idea of. Sebastian looked back at me.

"I think I should get going.I hope to see you around tomorrow before I leave the kingdom."Sebastian told me. I nodded in agreement and he left the balcony.

Luciano walked to me and wrapped his strong arms around me then rested his chin on my head.I leaned backwards and basked in his warm embrace

"Why are you wearing his jacket?"He asked me and I felt the jealousy in his voice.  I tilted my head upwards to look at him and he looked back at me with raised eyebrows.

"It's all your fault! You didn't remind me to pick my sweater when we left our room."I pinned the blame on him and he groaned.

"Sebastian was just trying to act like a gentleman. He gave me the jacket when he found me shivering from the cold."I said and Luciano groaned once again.

"Do you mean I'm not a gentleman?"He asked, "I never said you're not a gentleman."I protested.

"Would you like me to show you how gentle I can be?"Luciano asked me and the corner of his lips curved into a wicked smile. Whatever he was talking about, I could tell that he was up to no good.

I couldn't help but wonder why Luciano was being jealous. Sebastian is my brother-in-law now. I know Luciano feels insecure because Sebastian and I have some history in the past.

We went back to our room after watching the moon for a while. Even though some people thought that staring at the moon was childish, I enjoyed it so much, especially when I watched it while basking in Luciano's arms.All the worries disappeared into thin air and I felt as though the whole world had disappeared, leaving just the two of us.

We changed into our sleeping clothes and crawled under the warm sheets. Luciano held me in his arms and with every passing second, I felt my eyelids becoming heavier.

"MINE!"I heard Luciano say possessively in my head and gave my body a gentle squeeze as my consciousness faded away…

Luciano woke me up and we showered together.I asked the kitchen servants to bring breakfast in our room beacause Luciano and I wanted to have some privacy and talk about the things that concerned us as we ate breakfast.

"I feel so nervous," I confessed, heaving a slow sigh.

"I know.It's okay for you to feel that way because it's your first day to be in the queen's office.However,you don't need to feel so nervous because my mother is there to take you through everything so that you don't get exhausted."Luciano explained to me and I nodded, heaving a sigh of relief.

"Thank you for always caring.I love you so much."I said and my lips curved into a smile. I was happy to know that Luciano thought about my well-being and asked his mother to help me out.

Luciano accompanied me to the queen's office after encouraging me some more.

"You're already here?"The queen looked surprised."I was going through some papers as I waited for you to arrive."The queen said and I smiled politely at her.

"Welcome to the queen's office. This is going to be like a second home to you because you"ll be spending more hours working."She joked and I smiled nervously.

As though Luciano realised that I was nervous,he gave my hand a gentle squeeze.I looked at him and he smiled at me, assuring me that I can do it.

The queen's throne room had a golden chair and it looked so beautiful. The chair was there to symbolise power.  However, it didn't mean that the queen was supposed to sit on it all the time.I remembered Luciano telling me.

The only time that the queen can sit on the throne chair is when she is talking to guests from other kingdoms. My fingers itched to touch the queen's throne chair.However, I took a deep breath to calm down. I have all the time in the world,will not only touch it. I will seat on it as well because I'm the queen of the South.

"We have some papers that need the queen's signature. I can't sign them since I'm not the queen.It's your signature because you're the new queen of the south."The queen explained at me.

"Mother,  go easy on her, "Luciano grumbled and pulled me to his side, planting a gentle kiss on my head.

"I need to perform my duties, Luciano."I pulled away, "Don't overwork yourself."Luciano couldn't stop complaining.

"Don't worry, I will go easy on her."Luciano's mother assured his son and he nodded hesitantly, as though he was not convinced.

"Luciano, you have a visitor."I heard Hade's voice in my head and I looked at Luciano with raised eyebrows.

"I will get going, "Luciano informed us and we nodded in understanding.  Luciano walked to the door but before he twisted the metallic doorknob, he turned to look at me and I smiled at him.

I went through the papers that the former queen gave me and signed them.She ordered the kitchen servants to bring us some coffee with snacks. We sipped on our coffee as we continued to go through the piled-up work.

There was much paperwork to go through because of the crowning ceremony. Queens,  kings and princes from other kingdoms brought business proposals and we had to go through the

The queen explained to me the roles of the queen.I asked her questions where I didn't understand and she explained to me slowly so that I could understand.I realised that the queen is a nice person to work with.She's understanding and ready to help.
