My Sister

~Celine~

“Argh.” We both moaned loudly as we reached ecstasy. I giggled softly as I rolled off his body.

“That was…”

“Amazing,” I answered, looking at him. He still looked so handsome even though he was oozing out sweat.

“I have to go and check up on Kendrick,” I muttered, trying to get out of bed, but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist.

“So soon? Kendrick should be doing just fine with Betty. Why do you have to check up on him now?”

“Because I didn’t feed him before you dragged me into your room and pinned me down on the bed. You aren’t the only one that owns me now, boy. Your son owns me too, and he needs me.” I teased him, and he chuckled and shook his head.

“Noooo. C’mon baby. Don’t ruin the fun.” He pouted, causing me to laugh.

“I’ll be back as soon as I feed Kendrick, okay? I promise.” I answered, finally getting out of bed.

I wore a long, flared gown and walked out of the room, heading to Betty’s room.

Entering her room, I saw her tickling Kendrick as he lay down on the bed.

Betty raised her head and when she saw me, she raised her brows like she was surprised and looked at Kendrick’s smiling face.

“Look at who is here! Mama!” She uttered, making me giggle.

“You two seem to be enjoying each other’s company.” I commended, moving closer to the bed.

“Trust me, he loves my company the most. I have been trying so hard to distract him from crying, and I think I did a pretty good job. You should feed him now.” She responded, lifting him from the bed and carefully placing him in my arms.

“I had to run away from his father’s arms to be here right now. Left to Kilhan, he’d prefer his son go hungry for another hour.” I uttered with laughter as I placed my nipple in his little mouth.

“So much for a father, hun?” Betty answered, shaking her head.

“He has to get used to sharing me with his son. It’s a truth he doesn’t want to accept.” I added.

“Sooner or later, he will. I’m happy for you though. You are so happy as a family.”

“That’s one thing I’ve always craved, Betty. Since I was very young, a happy family seemed so far away from me, but now, I have it. It’s the best feeling ever. Trust me.” I responded, looking at Kendrick’s face. His eyes were closed this time.

“Right. Some of us are still struggling to be happy.” Betty mumbled sadly, causing me to raise my head. I instantly understood what she meant.

She had no family or mate. This is the worst thing that could ever happen to a person.

“Betty, there is a designated time for everything. Yours is on the way.” I answered, hoping this would cheer her up a little.

“I don’t think so, Celine. I am gradually approaching my thirties, and I still don’t have someone to call my mate. You can’t understand how this feels. A normal wolf finds his or her mate when they clock eighteen, and if it’s late, mid-twenties.

“But I’m already in my late twenties. I think I’m cursed.” She said, lowering her head in sadness.

“Don’t say that, Betty. You are not cursed. You just haven’t found the right person yet, and honestly, I don’t think you can.”

My last phrase made her raise her head to look at me in surprise. “What do you mean?” She furrowed her brows.

“Betty, if you don’t start caring about yourself, I don’t think you’ll ever find him. You’re always too busy taking care of others… the pack. You hardly go out, and on the days you do, you go to the market to get groceries and amenities for the pack. You need to start doing this for yourself.” I uttered with great concern.

“I have been taking care of the pack for years. I can’t stop now. If I don’t do it, who will?”

“We are not babies anymore. We can take care of ourselves. What if your mate is the Alpha of another pack and you have to leave this pack? Won’t we survive? Of course, we will. You need to start going out often, and start using your social media well.”

She heaved a sigh and shook her head. “This is all new. I don’t even know where to start.” She uttered in frustration.

“I’ll help you with that. You’re a very beautiful girl, all you have to do is post your pictures on your social media and go on dates! Easy peasy.” I uttered with a grin.

“But I can’t even remember the login details for any of my social handles.” She complained.

“Then we’ll just have to open another one. Let me have your phone.” I responded, carefully laying Kendrick, who was already sleeping, on the bed.

I went on her Instagram and we both started filling in information about her, for her new account.

After a while, we were done setting it up and we just needed to add a profile picture to her page.

“Now, I have to take a very nice picture of you,” I uttered, getting out of bed.

“Right now? I don’t look nice, or do I?” She asked, running her hands through her hair and face.

“Trust me, all you have to do is brush your hair, and you’re good to go,” I answered, picking a brush from the top of her drawer and throwing it to her.

“I’m thinking of taking a picture of you close to the window. The sunlight would give your face more glow and you’d look more beautiful.” I added, as I began to find the perfect spot for her.

“Celine.” She called, and I turned to look at her. That was when I realized she was staring at me.

“What?”

“Thank you. So much.” She said, and I scoffed and shook my head.

“C’mon. It’s nothing. What are friends for? Also, the earlier you get busy with your man, the better for me. Now, come over here, and let’s take nice pictures of you.”

With a chuckle, she eagerly got down the bed and ran to the window. She began to pose and I began to take so many intentional pictures.

After taking a few nice ones, she decided to change her clothes. And while she was doing this, there was a knock on her door.

“Who is it?” We both chorused, and this made us burst into laughter.

“It’s Drex. Can I come in?” He asked. I looked at Betty who was standing in front of her closet, yet to figure out another dress for our shoot.

“I guess we’ll have to continue later. Let’s use the ones we’ve taken. Come in, Drex.” She uttered, and I nodded, sitting on the bed again.

The door opened and he walked in with a faint smile. “I went to check on you in your room, Luna, and I was told you were here.”

“Oh yes. Having fun.” I responded, winking at Betty, who also giggled.

“I’m glad you two are. I came here to remind you about something.” He said, and Betty pointed to the chair so he could sit.

“It’s about Alpha Kilhan‘s birthday coming up in three months. I have been waiting for one of you to mention it, but since you two didn’t, I decided to remind you.” He stated.

“Oh Goddess, that is so true! How could I not remember?” I asked myself aloud. Looking back, it would be the third year that I met Kilhan in that club.

“I know we have been pretty occupied with other things. But I really want this to work. On his last birthday, he was in the bar, drinking himself into a stupor. We have to make this one memorable for him.”

Hearing this made me sad. I knew Kilhan didn’t enjoy his last birthday because of me. I hurt him.

‘But now, I am going to make things right. I will make him as happy as he was when we first met in that club.’

“Sounds like a great idea to me. I’ll take care of the meals, like always.” Betty uttered excitedly.

“I… I will help with the event planning.” I answered, but Drex shook his head.

“That will be sorted out. All you need to do is come up with a plan that will get Alpha Kilhan out of this house two days before his birthday. Once he’s out of here, the rest should be easy.” He uttered, and Betty nodded in agreement.

“Yes, that’s true. Take care of your mate, and we’ll take care of the preparations.” She added.

“Sounds like a plan to me,” I responded with a grin.

“Great. I’ll leave you to it then.” Drex said with a smile as he walked out of the room.

“So… where did we stop?” Betty asked excitedly, closing the gap between us with a cute little jump.

“Well, we are yet to post your picture. And we’ll be doing that right now.” I uttered as we both chose the best photo for her display picture.

We opted for the picture where she smiled so brightly and uploaded that. “Now, all we have to do is wait,” I uttered, passing her phone to her.

She nodded with a grateful look on her face. “Wait! I just got an idea!”

“What’s that?”

“Since I’m fully back on social media to find the other half, why don’t I join one of those online dating apps? This should make things quicker for me. Don’t you think so?” She asked.

“Well, you’re right. I just don’t think there are serious men on dating apps. But who knows? Trying wouldn’t hurt.”

“No, it wouldn’t! So, I’ll download the most popular app and create an account. Thank God I have pictures already.” She said enthusiastically as she scrolled through her phone.

I stared at her with a subtle smile on my face. Being so close to Betty still felt like a dream sometimes but I happen to love every moment we spend together.

It gives me an idea of what it would have felt if I had a sister.

‘I mean, she is my sister.’
