Chapter 193 193|Triplets mate
Lilith pov

“What are you most afraid of, Lilith?”

If anyone asked me that question, I already had an answer.

I wouldn’t even need to think about it.

It wasn’t death.

It wasn’t sickness.

It wasn’t pain.

It was helplessness.

What terrified me the most was the feeling of helplessness. The feeling of standing there and watching the people I loved suffer while being unable to do anything. Unable to protect them. Unable to save them.

The feeling of being weak.

A scream ripped from my throat.

Raw rage surged violently through every vein in my body as I launched myself at Samuel without hesitation, the ground beneath my feet cracking apart from the force.

My hand shot straight toward his chest, toward his heart. My eyes burned red with murderous intent, every inch of me shaking with fury and Samuel—Samuel laughed.

A wide grin stretched across his face as he stared at me with twisted amusement, like my rage itself entertained him.

This man…

This monster….

He was the reason so many people died.

The reason innocent women were violated.

The reason men screamed in torture chambers until their voices gave out.

The reason entire families were destroyed.

Hatred clawed violently through my chest but just before my fingers could pierce through his heart, he vanished. Sand exploded where he once stood, scattering wildly into the air.

My attack sliced through empty space.

Then—a voice echoed behind me.

Mocking.

Amused.

Excited.

“Yes…” Samuel drawled softly. “You’re fast. Strong too, even without your wolf right now, Lilith.” His voice darkened with laughter. “But without your golden wolf… can you really defeat me?”

The second his words landed, I moved.

I didn’t answer.

Didn’t hesitate.

The sand beneath my feet burst apart as I appeared behind him instantly, my hand lunging toward his chest again, fingers curled like claws.

My entire body trembled violently with rage as memories flashed endlessly through my mind.

My father’s fake death during the war, only to be alive but tutored beyond recognition.

My mother drinking wolfbane and then dying after years of being in a coma.

The whispers calling me cursed, broken and unwanted. The years of isolation, the pain, the loneliness. The ritual.

Every memory burned through me like fire and just before my hand could pierce into him—Samuel tilted his head slightly with a wild grin.

“The only reason you were ever special,” he whispered, “was because of the golden wolf. Without it…” he continued softly, almost mockingly, “you’re just the same Lilith from before.”

His grin widened.

“The weak Lilith.”

The moment those words left his mouth, he disappeared again but this time, I moved with him. The instant he reappeared, I was already there.

Right in front of him.

My leg swung toward his ribs with terrifying force while my other hand shot toward his throat at the exact same time, leaving him no space to escape.

Boom!

The ground exploded beneath us.

Samuel’s grin widened sharply as he twisted sideways, barely dodging my kick before catching my wrist but I twisted with him immediately, using his grip against him as my elbow slammed toward his jaw.

He ducked.

I spun.

My heel sliced through the air toward his head.

Sand burst wildly around us as our movements blurred across the battlefield fast enough to leave afterimages behind.

Every attack I threw carried rage.

Pain.

Years of suffering.

Samuel blocked another strike, his hand suddenly snapping around my wrist midair. Before I could react—

He yanked me toward him violently.

My body slammed against his chest, so close there was barely an inch between us now.

I looked up at him instantly.

My expression didn’t change in the slightest.

I glared at him with pure hatred while that same twisted smile remained etched across his face like he was enjoying every second of this.

The moment I tried to move my other hand—

He caught that too.

His fingers wrapped tightly around both my wrists effortlessly before he tilted his head slightly, staring down at me with amusement dancing in his eyes.

“But at the end of the day,” he murmured softly, “you still have the golden wolf.” His grin widened. “That is why I can’t bring myself to kill you yet.”

The wind howled violently around us as he leaned closer.

“Why you cannot die now,” he whispered darkly, “because you… Lilith… will become the greatest weapon I will ever wield.”

The second those words left his mouth, his hand slid to my waist. Then he pulled me even closer against him.

Instantly—

Disgust exploded through every inch of my body.

A low growl ripped from my throat as I jerked violently against his grip, every instinct inside me screaming to tear him apart.

I wanted to move.

To rip away from him.

To kill him.

But I couldn’t.

My strength was unstable.

The cursed ropes from earlier had drained too much from me and without Dravena’s power surging through my veins fully, he was right.

Without my wolf, I couldn’t defeat this bastard but I didn’t care. Even if this was the last thing I did, I was dragging Samuel straight to hell with me.

I was going to kill him even if it cost me everything.

“You bastard! Let her go!”

Claude.

The voice exploded through the battlefield filled with so much killing intent the air itself seemed to shake. My head snapped toward the sound instantly.

War raged not far from us, blood stained the ground. Bodies surrounded the battlefield and standing in the center of the chaos were Silas and Claude.

Rogues lunged toward them endlessly from every direction but the two of them looked terrifying, cold and deadly.

One rogue leaped toward Claude from behind, without even turning fully, Claude drove his claws backward straight through the man’s throat before ripping it out again in one smooth motion.

At the exact same time another rogue rushed Silas— Silas slit his throat casually without even looking at him, his furious gaze remaining locked on Samuel the entire time.

On us.

On Samuel’s hand around my waist.

Rage twisted across both their faces. Instinctively, my gaze flicked elsewhere. Toward my father.

Lucien stood in his white wolf form, in front of him protectively while my father leaned weakly against a tree behind him. Rogues continuously attacked from every direction but Lucien didn’t allow a single one to get close.

Blood covered Lucien’s claws as he moved violently through the battlefield, every strike precise, brutal and merciless.

And in front of me me, Samuel chuckled.

Low.

Amused.

“What a shame though…” he murmured near my ear. “I’m not the one who truly wants you dead.”

My body stiffened instantly in disgust.

His grip around my waist tightened slightly as I turned my glare toward him, hatred boiling violently inside me.

“The curse surrounding my cousins,” he continued lazily, almost like he was discussing the weather, “states that they must find and mark their mate before their twenty-sixth birthday.” His grin widened slightly. “And that birthday is only a few weeks away.”

I didn’t care.

Didn’t care about his words.

Didn’t care about his games.

The next second, I shoved against his chest with every ounce of strength I had left, trying to break free from him and continue fighting but then—

Samuel spoke again and this time, his words stopped me completely.

“But have you heard the remaining part of the curse?”

My movements froze slightly. Samuel noticed. His smile deepened slowly as the battlefield continued raging around us.

“If they find and mark their mate,” he said softly, “the ruthless Alpha triplets will survive their twenty-sixth birthday but what do you think happens to their mate?”

For the first time, something cold crawled down my spine. Samuel leaned closer.

“She dies in their stead.” His eyes gleamed with dark amusement as he whispered the next words slowly. “That is the true punishment the Moon Goddess gave them.”

My body went still.

Completely still.

“And now…” Samuel murmured, his smile widening into something crueler, darker. “Guess who their mate is.” The battlefield sounds around me suddenly felt distant.

Muffled.

My heart pounded violently against my chest.

“Guess who they are planning to mark and kill in order to save themselves.”

For a moment, I couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe, couldn’t even think.

I simply stared at him as the corner of his lips curled upward.

Then he spoke the words that shattered something inside me.

“It’s you, Lilith.”

His grin widened.

“You are the triplets’ mate.”
