Chapter 84 Fight.

Chapter 84 Fight.
John’s POV.
“I don’t care what you have to say, Mildred. You’ll do best to get out of our way… or else. I need to get her out of here and help, whatever is going on can’t be good. Did you not just hear the bombs that went off in all directions? They need me at the borders!” I rushed out with anger, something about the way she looked at me giving me a sinking feeling in my stomach.

Her eyes darted around, looking at everyone’s faces frantically.

“She knows something…” Bella said suddenly, making Mildred’s eyes shoot towards her quickly.

“Quiet! You don’t know what you’re talking about! You don’t know anything!” She shouted, her heartbeat loud as she fought to defend herself.

“No, you are lying, Mildred. Take her, bring her to the dungeons quickly, we need to get to the borders, our pack members need our help!” I said calmly, locking eyes with a few of our warriors who were standing by, waiting for one word to be said.

With a nod of their heads they gripped Mildred’s arms tightly, dragging her away as she screamed and kicked to be let go…

“And don’t even bother trying to get her to speak, if she wanted to she already would have. Lock her up without food or water… that’s enough torture,” I muttered before I took off towards the pack house.

“John!” Bella said in shock, slapping at my chest to get my attention, “John! What are you doing? I’m coming with you, there’s no way you can just leave me here when you know I can fight!”

I stopped running as soon as I got in front of the pack house, setting her down on her feet gently, looking behind me at all of the smoke before looking back at her.

“Bella. Listen carefully to me,” I said quickly, getting the words out as fast as I could, “they cannot get to you. If you were taken from them I can’t say what could happen to you. The pack needs you, Megan needs you and… I need you. So please, stay here, protect the pack while we try our best to keep them out of the territory. If we can hold them back at the borders the children and older pack members have a better chance at survival. Who knows who Mildred told about you. It’s not safe, please, Bella. I don’t know if they know you’re a white wolf. They could’ve been watching us, go to the basement with the children, get to safety!”

She stared into my eyes in fear, shock, a little bit of anger…

A year fell from her eye before she turned and ran into the pack house, her sadness washing off of her…

I closed my eyes and sighed, trying to hold myself together.

‘She’ll be okay, we have to go, John. Even if just to protect our mate. They need us at the borders, now!’ Titan raged in my mind, a reminder as if I didn’t already know what was happening at the borders right now.

Without another thought I shifted into Titans massive form, our black paws hitting the ground hard before our body took off faster than should be possible.

We were a blur as we ran through the forest as fast as our legs could take us.

The sounds of two feet running on the ground and the sounds of teeth piercing flesh rang through my ears, confirming what I had thought.

Vampires.

Just what we needed right now.

My head swung to the side as I heard one coming up from behind me, his face twisted into a cocky grin as my eyes locked with his.

I skidded to a stop, smirking myself as his face twisted into surprise, his own feet trying to stop but ultimately failing as he started to fall and roll to a stop.

Without hesitation I gripped his neck with my massive jaws, swinging my head back and forth until his head ripped off of his body, leaving him lifeless.

‘Don’t forget to rip out his heart,’ Titan growled, taking control only to shove our paw through his chest, crushing his heart.

I snarled as I looked around me, noticing the warriors on patrol fighting hard to keep the vampires back, struggling greatly without the proper training.

I took off, running as fast as I could possibly go to help the nearest warrior, a young woman whose neck was about to be bitten.

I swung my paw just in time, connecting with his back, leaving deep claw marks.

He groaned while turning around quickly, facing me with his fangs showing.

“You mutt!” He snarled, his eyes glaring daggers at me, “you’ll pay for touching me, mutt. Do you even know who I am? What I am capable of? You’ll wish you were dead.”

I prepared myself for his attack, positioning myself low enough to the ground that it would be easier to jump out of his reach.

Just as I suspected he threw himself wildly at me, making it easy for me to side step him, getting him in the chest this time with my claws.
