Chapter 276 Couldn't Help Going to Look

Chapter 276 Couldn't Help Going to Look

Jasmine's body went rigid, especially when she felt the eyes of the women behind her drifting toward her. Her expression darkened even further.

Not wanting to lose face in front of them, Jasmine gritted her teeth, ready to continue making a scene, when Elena suddenly spoke.

"Anna, call the police."

"Yes, Ms. Elena."

Anna froze for a moment before quickly catching on. She nodded firmly. "What should I tell them?"

"Tell them someone is deliberately causing a disturbance and damaging property."

Elena narrowed her eyes slightly, fixing her gaze on Jasmine as she spoke each word deliberately. "Also, tell the police we suspect this group may be carrying 'prohibited weapons.' Ask them to come quickly."

"Yes!"

Anna looked thrilled and immediately reached for her phone to dial.

Across from them, one of Jasmine's friends went pale the instant she heard those words. She quickly tugged at her friend's sleeve.

"Jasmine, what do we do? They're calling the cops."

"If the police actually show up and we get hauled into the station, and our families find out, then we'll..."

She didn't finish, but everyone present understood what she meant.

All of them came from powerful families whose every move was watched by rivals and opportunists.

If a scandal like this broke out, being grounded would be the least of their worries. It could very well affect their standing within their own families.

In families like theirs, the competition was already cutthroat.

If they were pushed out now, there would be no coming back from it.

Jasmine clearly realized this too. She looked at Anna and the others, who were practically gloating, and at Elena's mocking expression. Unwilling as she was, she had no choice. She waved her hand sharply.

"Fine, Elena. I'll let you off this time!"

"But if I ever see you hanging all over Sebastian again, don't blame me for getting 'serious'!"

After throwing out that threat, Jasmine stormed off with her entourage.

Watching her retreating figure, Elena's jaw tightened.

Meanwhile, the employee whose phone had been smashed bent down and picked it up with a pained expression. After pressing the power button several times with no response, disappointment flooded her face.

Seeing her like this, Elena pressed her lips together, then walked over. "This happened because of me. Get yourself a new phone—I'll reimburse you."

The employee looked surprised, gratitude shining in her eyes.

"Thank you, Ms. Elena..."

As the woman bowed to her, Elena felt a little helpless. She patted her shoulder gently, then nodded toward the conference table nearby.

"All right, everyone. Let's get back to the discussion."

---

At that same moment, on the tenth floor of Blake Corporation in the Finance Department.

Sebastian had just picked up some documents from the finance manager and was heading back to his office when he passed by a break room. He caught snippets of conversation from inside.

"Hey, I heard from my friend that Jasmine went after Miss Chase again."

"Seriously? What did she want with Miss Chase?"

"No idea, but apparently she ripped into her—said some really nasty stuff. The two groups almost got into a fight at the studio..."

Hearing this, Sebastian's previously calm expression hardened into something far more serious.

He furrowed his brow, thought for a moment, then pulled out his phone and dialed his assistant.

"I need you to look into something for me..."

---

Half an hour later, his assistant arrived at Sebastian's office to report what he'd found.

After hearing about Jasmine's arrogant behavior, Sebastian's expression turned stormy. His narrowed eyes glinted with cold fury.

"Jasmine's clearly forgotten the lesson I taught her. She's thrown every warning I gave her right out the window."

The assistant frowned as well after hearing Sebastian's words.

"Mr. Blake, that's not all. I also heard that Jasmine smashed an employee's phone and left a threat before she walked out. She told Miss Chase not to keep 'hanging all over you,' or she wouldn't be so nice next time."

"I'd like to see her 'try' being less nice."

Sebastian's anger only intensified.

His relationship with Elena was already strained as it was.

And now Roman had wormed his way in, using that kid to close the distance between himself and Elena...

Meanwhile, Sebastian was on the verge of being pushed out entirely.

And now Jasmine was dragging him down even further. It was infuriating.

The more he thought about it, the angrier he became. He grabbed his phone and dialed Jasmine's number.

Jasmine had already been upset about getting nowhere with Elena. When she saw Sebastian's call come through, her heart sank even further.

Sebastian never called her unless something was wrong.

And whenever he did call, it was 'never' good news.

Steeling herself, Jasmine bit her lip and answered.

"Hello, Sebastian, I—"

"Did you go after Elena?"

The man's icy voice cut her off, dripping with anger and impatience.

"I didn't..."

Hearing his tone, Jasmine's heart plummeted, but she knew she couldn't admit it.

If she did, given Sebastian's temper, he'd never let her off the hook.

Her mind raced as she tried to bluff her way through. "I've been with my girlfriends all day. I didn't even—"

"Jasmine! Do you really think I don't know what happened?"

Sebastian's patience snapped completely. "Didn't I 'tell' you not to go after Elena? Are you treating my words like garbage?"

"I..."

Jasmine had already been seething, and hearing him immediately berate her pushed her over the edge. She couldn't hold back anymore. "Yes, I went after her! And why 'shouldn't' I?"

"Sebastian, don't forget our relationship! As your fiancée, how am I supposed to just stand by while some woman throws herself at my husband?!"

"All you do is yell at me—did I do something 'wrong'?!"

"Sebastian, you're going 'too far'!"

Hearing Jasmine still insisting on their so-called relationship, Sebastian's disgust for her only deepened.

"Engaged? Ha. Not for long."

"Jasmine, I told you before—if you went after her, I wouldn't let you off easy..."

"You're really going to do this to me? Sebastian, you're so 'cruel'!"

Jasmine's eyes widened, her whole body trembling with rage. "Honestly, I don't understand what's so great about Elena! What does she have that I don't?!"

"My family background is better than hers, my education is just as good—so why do you only see 'her' and never 'me'?!"

"Sebastian, 'we're' the perfect match! She will 'never' be welcomed into your family. 'Never'!"

Hearing the woman shriek, Sebastian's expression grew colder and colder. "Jasmine, you want to know how you compare? Fine. I'll tell you—you don't. Not in any way."

"Stay away from her. Or don't blame me when Colton Group's situation gets a lot worse."
