Chapter 81
Chapter 81
"Oh God, I've never been turned down so flatly by a woman before." Gian's face fell apart.
Seeing that Gian was genuinely upset, the men's laughter gradually died down.
"So, Matt, can you tell me how you managed to win over Miss Susie?"
Gian asked sincerely for advice.
Sim said, "If I remember correctly, Matt was the one who got carried off by Miss Susie at the Halloween party."
"So, is it my fault for not being as handsome as Matt?"
Gian irritably ruffled his blond hair.
"Of course, that's a fact," Susie said slowly.
"That's pretty harsh, but I'll take it," Matt said, smiling at Susie.
"Matt, stop flirting. I think I need some comfort right now." Gian stared at Matt, looking exasperated.
Seeing Gian's devastated expression, Susie said with a laugh, "Okay, don't be so upset. Roddy's a homebody. She hates it when someone asks her out while she's snacking and watching shows, even if that person is me."
Susie smiled at Gian and said, "So she didn't reject me just now because she dislikes me?"
Hearing Susie's explanation, Gian's eyes immediately lit up.
"To be precise, at such a perfect moment, if someone disturbs Roddy, she'll dislike everyone," Susie said with a smile.
Hearing Susie's explanation, Sim quietly gave her a thumbs up.
"Without Susie's explanation, they'd probably be tortured by Gian all evening."
"So, I think we should discuss what to bring to the beach tomorrow night."
Susie fished out a pen from between the sofa cushions, then casually tore off a page from the calendar on the dining table.
Everyone enthusiastically began discussing what to bring tomorrow night.
It wasn't until the entire page was filled that Susie finally stopped.
"I think we probably need to buy some fireworks too," Matt said slowly.
"Watching fireworks at the beach would be really romantic," Susie said excitedly.
The men teased with a laugh, "Matt used to be so boring, but for some reason, ever since he met Miss Susie, he's become a romantic."
"Of course it's because I want to please my little wildcat."
Matt's beautiful amber eyes rested on Susie.
Susie hummed in acknowledgment, smiling at Matt, "So, are you really that boring?"
The Matt that Susie knew didn't seem like that at all—even their lovemaking was full of variety.
"Whether I'm interesting or not, don't you already know?" As he spoke, Matt's hand gently rested on Susie's waist.
"Okay, I think we've had enough of watching you two show off," Gian protested.
After all, he was practically lovesick right now.
"Alright, I guess we'll just have to continue being sweet in the bedroom, since there's a wounded man here."
Hearing Matt's words, the men laughed.
"You'll see, one day I'll be as happy as Matt," Gian promised the men.
"Let's hope this isn't just another one of your three-minute enthusiasms," Matt said with a smile.
"Of course not," Gian protested anxiously.
"I think I'm going to rest now and prepare for tomorrow's beach trip," Susie said, yawning.
"Okay, I'll come with you," Matt took Susie's hand.
Susie and Matt left the dining room together, leaving the men looking at each other.
The next morning, Susie slept in before finally crawling out of bed.
Matt, wearing loose pajama pants and leaning against the doorframe, smiled at Susie and asked, "They're in the kitchen preparing ingredients. Want to go check it out?"
"Of course!" Susie changed into a long-sleeved nightgown and walked with Matt toward the dining room.
Somme was preparing meat skewers, Nick was handling vegetables...
They all seemed busy with something, except for Gian, who was holding his phone and taking photos like crazy.
"Since when did Gian start documenting his life?" Susie tilted her head to look at Matt beside her.
Hearing Susie's words, Matt chuckled softly, "I think he's probably bombarding your best friend on WeChat right now."
Sure enough, Susie soon received a complaint message from Roddy.
Roddy: [I've received no less than a hundred messages from Gian this morning. Doesn't he have anything else to do?]
Even though Roddy only sent a text message, Susie could still sense Roddy's helplessness through the words.
Susie: [I think Gian probably just wants to share his life with you.]
Roddy: [But he's already disrupted my life.]
After sending the message, Roddy even added two helpless emojis.
Susie: [So, what are you going to do?]
Susie couldn't help but gossip.
Roddy: [I think I've already handled it.]
Roddy sent Susie a screenshot of the chat interface showing she'd deleted Gian as a friend.
Susie looked up, just in time to see Gian's face full of defeat.
At that moment, the oblivious Sim was still asking Gian, "The corn kernels are ready. Want to take a picture and send it to Roddy, too?"
"She deleted me," Gian said with a long face. "I've never been treated like this by a girl before."
Deep sense of defeat.
"Chasing girls requires patience. Those previous ones were just one-night stands at best," Matt said slowly.
"Matt, I even feel like my heart hurts a little," Gian said to Matt with a miserable expression.
"I think no girl would like a man with poor health," hearing Gian's complaint, Matt said slowly.
As he spoke, his gaze couldn't help but fall on Susie, "My little wildcat, what do you think?"
"Probably so," Susie said awkwardly, brushing him off.
"I'm perfectly healthy. I was just making a comparison," Gian quickly added.
In the end, although unenthusiastic, Gian still went to the beach with everyone.
On the way, Matt kept chatting with Susie, "I think this beach trip will be unforgettable for us."
"Why do you say that?" Susie turned to look at Matt.
"Because I've never experienced doing it at the beach..." Hearing Matt's words, Susie immediately blushed.
"That's a really embarrassing topic," Susie muttered quietly.
"But, my little wildcat, you're just as excited about it as I am, aren't you?" Matt said with a smile.
Susie pretended not to hear, turning her head away and pretending to look at the scenery outside the window.
