Chapter 80
"So, are you going to stay in the room with me today?" Susie leaned against the bed, blinking her big eyes at Matt.
So, was his little wildcat acting cute with him?
Matt stared at Susie with interest. "If that's what you want, I'd be happy to."
"Of course!" Without even hesitating, Susie said it right away.
"After all, I don't want to be alone in an empty room."
Susie tilted her head, looking at Matt with a cute, pleading expression.
Seeing how adorable Susie looked, Matt couldn't help but smile.
"My little wildcat, do you know how cute you are to me?" Matt said, smiling at Susie.
"I can move my office to the bedroom and keep you company while I work."
"That sounds perfect." Susie looked excited.
Soon, the guys brought over the files Matt needed to handle today.
When they saw Susie lying in bed, they couldn't help but look surprised.
However, when they noticed the red marks dotting Miss Susie's neck, they seemed to immediately understand what was going on.
But under the pressure of Matt's intimidating gaze, not one of the guys dared to joke with Susie.
It wasn't until they left Matt's room that the guys huddled together to gossip.
"So, you saw those marks on Miss Susie, too, right?"
"Of course!"
"They were so obvious, it would've been hard not to see them!"
The guys whispered among themselves.
"So, is it Matt's doing that Miss Susie can't get out of bed today?"
"Looks like I need to learn from Matt and find out how he stays in such great shape."
The guys whispered excitedly among themselves.
In the bedroom, Matt was carefully reviewing the documents in his hands.
Susie couldn't help but say, "I bet right now they're talking about the two of us."
Hearing Susie's words, Matt slowly put down the documents.
"Let them be jealous then," Matt said with a smile.
Susie was speechless. That wasn't what she meant at all.
By dinner time, Susie finally felt the soreness in her body ease up quite a bit, and she could slowly walk a few steps.
"So, do you still need me to bring dinner to the room tonight?" Matt looked at Susie with affection.
"I think if I don't show up at the dinner table tonight, by tomorrow there'll be all kinds of rumors about me going around. I don't want to be the center of their gossip."
"Alright." Matt looked at Susie fondly.
Dinner time.
When Matt appeared in the dining room holding Susie's hand, the guys were almost stunned.
"What, surprised to see me?" Susie joked with the guys, smiling.
Matt quietly watched as Susie freely teased the men at the table.
This seemed to be Susie's natural ability. Wherever she went, she could easily become the center of attention.
"Miss Susie, we actually thought you'd be stuck in bed for a few more days." Gian joked with a smile.
Using this kind of thing as a joke was something Gian was always good at.
"Of course not. I figured if I stayed in bed too long, you guys might miss me so much you couldn't eat."
Susie teased the guys, and the atmosphere at the table quickly became relaxed.
"Matt, it's been a while since we went to the beach, hasn't it?"
At the table, the guys brought it up.
At that moment, Matt was taking small bites of the pasta on his plate.
Hearing the guys' suggestion, Matt's first reaction was to ask Susie's opinion.
"So, do you like the beach?"
Seeing Matt ask Susie's opinion so gently, the guys couldn't help but tease, "Miss Susie, I've never seen Matt be this gentle with anyone. Looks like you've successfully captured his heart."
The guys said with a laugh.
"It's my honor," Susie replied.
Then, her gaze returned to Matt. "I think if I could see the sunset at the beach, I'd be happier than anyone."
"Tomorrow it is then." Without even hesitating, Matt said directly.
The guys cheered.
While the guys looked excited, Gian seemed like he wanted to say something but held back.
Susie's gaze couldn't help but fall on Gian, seeming to guess what he wanted to say.
"So, you want me to help you ask Roddy out?" Susie asked Gian with a smile.
Gian nodded. "That's right, Miss Susie."
He thought he must have gone crazy these past few days.
Even when he slept, his dreams were filled with images of Roddy.
He even felt that this girl named Roddy was like a witch with powerful magic, who had somehow used some kind of spell on him and successfully captured his heart.
"But don't get too excited. I'm not planning to help you." Susie said with a smile.
"Why not?" Gian got a bit anxious.
"Because Roddy is my best friend, of course." Susie's reason made perfect sense.
The guys teased Gian with laughter. "Who told you to mess around with that blonde girl? Looks like earning Miss Susie's trust again is going to take a long time."
"Fine." Gian sighed helplessly.
"But I think you could call Roddy yourself, if she's willing," Susie said with a smile.
"Really?" Hearing Susie say this, Gian's eyes lit up.
"Of course." Susie's lips curved slightly.
She'd be quite happy if Roddy found a boyfriend, too.
As long as the guy was reliable, of course.
"I thought you were going to break Gian's heart," Matt said quietly to Susie beside him.
"Only because he's one of your guys." Susie glanced at Matt proudly.
"Why is it that no matter what, you always have this fatal attraction for me?"
Susie shrugged. "I'd like to know the answer to that question, too."
After dinner, with everyone egging him on, Gian finally gathered the courage to call Roddy.
On the other end of the phone, Roddy seemed to be watching a TV show. It sounded like she was eating chips.
"So, lovely Miss Roddy, can I invite you to join us for a beach party?"
After Gian mustered up the courage to finish speaking, he held his breath waiting for Roddy's response.
Without even hesitating, Roddy directly refused. "I think I'd rather stay home and watch TV."
With that, Roddy hung up the phone.
Hearing the busy tone on the other end, Gian felt a sense of defeat like never before.
