Chapter 534 Declan Will Never Cheat

Chapter 534 Declan Will Never Cheat

L&L was a world-famous jewelry store that specialized in custom-made rings. The store was well-known for its delicate yet elegantly designed rings made with exquisite workmanship.

Customers were allowed to design and craft the rings on their own. After that, the semi-finished products would be sent to the professionals to be further processed.

This was to ensure that every end product would be one-of-a-kind to its owner, thus symbolizing the most genuine affection from the other half.

Declan had started with the preparation before he went overseas. The product was finished just in time upon his return.

At L&L.

Right in front of Declan was the internationally renowned designer.

The designer handed the end product to Declan. "Please let us know if you have any other comments."

Declan opened the small box and the ring appeared before his eyes. The grooves on the surface were done delicately and the overall style was simple yet elegant.

Declan was very certain that Freya would like it.

He became inadvertently gentle when he thought of Freya.

The designer, who was fretting, heaved a sigh of relief upon seeing that.

The designer was pulled out of his thought instantly. "Mr. Castle, would you like to make any further amendment?"

"Yeah," replied Declan.

Declan was in the L&L workshop the whole morning.

Feeling satisfied with the final outcome, he finally left in the afternoon.

Over the next three days, Declan prepared for the proposal full-heartedly.

Freya noticed that Declan was very busy recently. He would leave home early in the morning and always came back late at night.

She wanted to help Declan out but he kept brushing her off.

On the afternoon of the third day, Freya was invited to high tea with Eva.

Freya rested her chin on her hand as the sun shone warmly on her. She seemed to frown from time to time, seemingly lost in thoughts.

"What's on your mind?" Eva craved citrusy foods ever since she became pregnant.

She gulped down the orange juice in seconds and leaned back on the chair leisurely.

Then, she beckoned the server over and asked for another glass of juice.

Freya, who remained listless, furrowed her brows and sat up straight. Looking troubled, she told Eva, "Something's wrong with Declan. Very wrong."

At this moment, the waiter was serving Eva her orange juice. Eva chewed on the straw and waited for Freya to continue.

"He seems to be hiding something from me recently," said Freya.

Eva gulped down the orange juice and stared at Freya sternly.

Freya felt a chill down her spine from Eva's stares. She then touched her own face and asked, "Is there anything on my face?"

"Well, I think you shouldn't be overconcerned." Freya immediately thought of something and interrupted, "Declan will never cheat on me."

"Lookers see most of the game," Eva muttered.

"Huh?" Freya did not hear it clearly.

"You really have so much trust in him?" replied Eva in a deliberately slow manner.

Freya was very confident. "That's for sure. We trust each other mutually!"

"Do you not fully trust Liam then?" teased Freya.

Eva shrugged. "Do you think he'd have the courage to cheat?"

"Nah! Good for you then," said Freya.

Eva struck back. "Likewise."

"Don't worry, all right?" Eva picked another straw, put it into the glass of juice, and pushed the drink over to Freya. "Try this. It tastes so good!"

...

Eva successfully diverted Freya's attention with the juice.

After Freya took a sip of the juice, she immediately grabbed a glass of water and finished it in an instant.

"It's so sour!" Freya could still feel the sourness linger in her mouth even after rinsing it off with water.

"Oh? Was it really that sour?" Eva was puzzled.

She took another sip and said calmly, "Hmm... Nope."

"Pregnant women with a craving for sour foods tend to give birth to boys. I guess I'll have a godson soon," remarked Freya.

"In that sense, you might be carrying a girl this round. You couldn't even take this level of sourness - I guess you won't be able to take lemonade," Eva replied promptly.

"How about spicy food?" Eva asked again.

Freya thought hard for a short while and recalled her eating habits during her pregnancy.

"Come to think about it, I actually quite like spicy food."

"Perfect! We shall matchmake our kids next time." Eva snapped her finger while smiling.

Freya rested her face on her palms and squinted. "Wow! They could be childhood sweethearts. Not bad, not bad. It'll be a beautiful love story!"

"Not bad at all." Eva was pleased. She could already imagine how good-looking Freya's third child would be, having inherited both parents' good genes.

Just the thought of it was enough to make her feel delighted.

"What if both of us give birth to boys? Are we going to matchmake them, too?" asked Freya.

Freya started laughing uncontrollably as soon as she thought of that.

Eva finished the orange juice and replied calmly, "We shall let nature take its course, then. Love is love, regardless of the sex."

Freya was laughing so hard that she felt her cheeks going sore.

Eva's phone rang.

Freya saw Eva smiling while looking at her phone. She took a stretch and asked, "Is

that Liam? Does he really need to be this clingy?"

Freya thought of Declan and started complaining, "In my case, I don't even know what my guy is up to."

Eva kept her phone and said in a thoughtful manner, "Don't be jealous."

"Oh? Are you feeling shy?" Freya smiled. "Okay. It's getting late. Let's go home."

"It's still early. Shall we have another meal?" Eva suggested.

Freya certainly did not object.

The ladies walked along the street and strolled their way through a crowded park with elderly people. Some were playing cards while others were exercising.

Freya observed her surroundings and let out a sigh. "We shall buy a house next to each other when we get old. Declan and Liam can play chess or go fishing together..."

Eva chimed in, "We can bake together and go for dance classes at night."

"Bingo!" Freya turned around and faced Eva. Walking backward, she said, "You know me so well."

"What a perfect life!" Eva exclaimed while stepping on Freya's shadow.
