Chapter 535: Will You Marry Me?

"Yes! Yes!" Freya nodded vigorously in agreement.

"Freya," Eva called her name abruptly.

"Ya?" Freya raised an eyebrow.

"I must have been born under a lucky star to have met you in my life. And I really wish you'd be happy!" exclaimed Eva.

Freya was stunned for a bit. Moved, she pursed her lips and said, "I know."

She paused for a moment before she continued, "You know what? You're a blessing to me. I'd wish the same for you, too."

Tears welled up in Eva's eyes as she nodded.

In an instant, the sky in the East was aglow with fireworks.

Freya was shocked. She then saw Eva pointing to the sky and raised her head. Freya saw beautiful multi-colored fireworks displayed against the night sky.

At this moment, two words appeared in mid-air:

Freya held her breath instantly.

She could sense something.

Her heart was beating fast; she clenched her fist slowly and her palm became sweaty.

"Turn around!" Eva rushed her while smiling. "Quick!"

Freya was petrified. She bit her lips and quickly gathered herself before she turned around swiftly.

At the exact same time, all the lights from the streets and the adjacent buildings flicked off at once.

The place turned pitch-black in a split second.

It was then that Freya realized they were on the same street as the Castle Group headquarters.

In a blink of an eye, the world around her lit up brightly.

On the exterior of the building was a projection of a light show.

Dazzling rays lit up the scene. Beams of light in various colors were cast on the building, creating an animation of a couple.

The animated couple looked adorable. The animation told the story of a couple from

their first encounter to tying the knot in the end.

Ten minutes later, the story ended. The final scene showed a man going down on one knee to propose to a girl.

"Will you marry me?" A deep voice emerged below her.

She exclaimed and looked down.

Before her eyes was Declan, clad in a neat suit, who was down on one knee. He was holding a ring in his hand.

Freya felt her heart beating out of control.

To her utter disbelief, she took a deep breath and her eyes widened.

Soon, Freya realized that the couple in the animation was actually herself and Declan.

The ten-minute clip was actually a brief recap of their love journey.

Freya covered her mouth and her eyes were filled to the brim with tears.

Her throat tightened. "Why are you proposing when we've already gotten married?"

Freya could see her own reflection when she looked into Declan's deep eyes. "That didn't count," replied Declan affectionately.

"I was too persistent back then. I didn't even ask for your consent. I'm sorry." Declan frowned when he thought about the past; he was ashamed of his old self. Freya was crying tears of joy. She started reminiscing the moment they first met. "To be honest, it was quite an interesting time." Freya sniffed.

Declan was slightly nervous and his voice became deeper. "No matter what, I can't gloss over my past doings. Fortunately, I was given another chance to make things right again."

He stood upright. "Marry me, will you?"

...

Declan repeated himself.

Freya had heard Declan's hearty confessions many times before, but that was the first time she heard him say the words--"Will you marry me?"

She wiped away her tears and placed her right hand in Declan's palm.

"Who else can I marry other than you?" Freya muttered with a smile on her face.

Declan was beaming with joy.

As an introvert, he rarely smiled. Even when he did, it was almost always a faint curve at the corner of his lips.

However, at that moment, he was grinning from ear to ear.

Freya was surprised to see that there was actually a tiny dimple on Declan's left cheek.

Although it was tiny, she was obsessed with it.

With her full attention on the man, she watched as he retrieved the ring from the box and sincerely slid it into her finger.

Freya could not take her eyes off the ring at all.

She said in astonishment, "So this was what you were pressing for on the phone the other time?"

"Yes." Declan nodded.

"No wonder you kept it from me." Freya was beaming from ear to ear. She pulled him up and raised her head, asking excitedly, "What's the new ring for? You've already given me a ring." She was puzzled.

Declan planted a kiss on her forehead and said, "I didn't give much thought to that; it's too flashy. Besides, you don't wear it often either."

That was not the answer she expected to hear.

"Back then, if it weren't for that ring on the corpse's finger, I would've fallen for it when Landen faked your death," he explained. "The deceased was wearing a ring on her finger. It was then that I realized you've never liked it because of its oversized diamond. Unless it was for a formal event, you never wore it."

He continued sincerely, "Unfortunately, I lost my memories after that. And by the time I remembered, we were in the middle of a fight. Now, I finally get the chance to put a ring that you like on your finger."

Freya was overwhelmed with happiness as tears rolled down her cheeks. "I like it; I

like it a lot! I liked the previous one too, but it was indeed too flashy." Although Declan was aware that she was comforting him, he didn't expose it. He cupped her face and kissed her tears away. "Don't cry," he cooed.

Freya could not help it. "My tears are out of control. It's all your fault. You got me emotional out of nowhere," she mumbled.

Declan's heart melted as he looked at the woman grumbling at him in a spoiled manner.

"Were you busy with the proposal for the past few days?" asked Freya.

"What else?"

"You bribed Eva, didn't you?"

"Not really. It's all thanks to Liam," said Declan.

Freya twisted her head around and saw Eva leaning against Liam, his coat draped over her shoulders.

The couple turned to look at Declan and Freya in unison--their gazes filled with sincere well-wishes and pure happiness.

Freya smiled back at them.
