Chapter 96 096
Amy's POV
I already knew that doing this wouldn’t be easy for me, but I decided to do it anyway. The situation right now requires patience and comfort. That’s what these people need. Whenever something happens, they would surely need to blame someone for it. I don’t know why Damien is getting mad at his home people for me. I don’t think I deserve all of this.
They got their family killed. Of course they would be very mad. If it was me too, I would be blaming myself for what happened. I stepped forward with the eyes of those looking at me with so much hatred.
“I’m sorry for what happened to everyone. I know I don’t deserve to be here talking to you about this, but it’s definitely not what I intended. I never knew something like this would happen. If I did, I would have left here as soon as possible,” I started.
“But you know now, it’s not going to be easy. If I leave here now, it doesn’t mean that they would stop coming. It’s my fault for being a lycan, which is why they are after me.”
Everyone’s eyes widened the moment I announced that this was what I wanted them to know. I could hear many of them saying all sorts of things. Some of them didn’t even believe me.
“What do you mean you’re a lycan?” someone from the crowd shouted. “You want us to believe that kind of nonsense?”
I smiled at them. Looking at Damien, who was about to go after the person, I gave him a signal to stop. He was also shocked that I announced my wolf in front of the whole world when we were supposed to be hiding.
How long would we be hiding in the dark? If we keep hiding, those people would come after us. After all, not everyone has anything against lycans except for that organization that killed them in the past.
Now they call themselves the Dark Hunters. I’m very sure they have everything to do with my parents’ death and Demian’s parents also.
If the entire world finds out about us being lycans, they would surely want to come have an alliance with us. No matter what reputation Damien has in the past, they would ignore all of that and want to be with us.
This would also help us gain good allies and connections. In this way, we can find out who our enemies are and who our friends are. We would be able to investigate clearly because of the resources we have. This is my best way of countering the situation.
“I have a way of proving myself. I’m not just the only lycan in the world. Your Alpha is also a lycan.”
This was an even bigger shock for them, as they all looked at themselves, unable to believe that what I said was the truth.
“You’re lying! Stop lying to us! Get down right now!” they all shouted.
Damien immediately stepped forward and made me stand behind him. “I want you all to shut your mouth now. Do you think she would come here and say a bunch of nonsense? If I wasn’t a lycan, would she come here to make the announcement? She’s risking her life despite knowing that everyone is looking for her to make this announcement. And you all are here saying all sorts of things.”
“Damien, that’s enough. Stop doing that,” I said, pushing him backwards to talk to them.
“You all know the conditions those people set for what they wanted me to be brought to them. That’s because I’m pregnant with the lycan here, and he’s the only purest lycan in the world that would be born. This is the only reason why they want me.”
“They want to use the blood of my child, and that of your Alpha and I, to make themselves become the most powerful ones, then they will throw the entire world into chaos. This is helping everyone because, at the end of the day, if I leave here and I get caught, you won’t be spared, because you are Damien’s people after all. What do you all think about this?”
They were all speechless, and I saw that they were all thinking about it. It seemed now they were finally starting to realize that I was telling the truth.
Someone stepped forward. “I know what you are saying is making sense, but how do we believe you are lycans? How can we trust that you are not using this situation to just lift yourself up?
You know how dangerous it is for you to announce you are lycans, and how it would backfire if you weren’t and you were lying to the entire world the whole time.”
“I know that. I understand your worries, but I’m definitely not lying, and we will prove it to you right now. Lycans can shift at any time, which makes it easier for us to prove ourselves.”
Damien and I looked at each other, and we gave ourselves a go-ahead. We both shifted to our lycan forms right in front of everyone, and they were all astonished. That’s when they finally believed that we were telling the truth.
I knew they would have a lot of questions about this situation because Damien is their Alpha and they clearly don't have any Lycan there. Damien stepped forward to explain.
“I was adopted by the former Alpha who used to be friends with my parents in the Royal Lycan Court. But now he is dead and I had to take the responsibility of ruling this park with my strength from a young age. I hope you all understand that I have done everything I can for you.”
They all started to talk again but this time around I could hear some positive responses from them. Many of them had the look of pity and many of them felt sad because they know if he is a Lycan then the tragedy that happened to the Lycans years ago must be something that happened to his family. He didn't need to explain further for them to find out what happened.
“Alpha Damien, we understand what you just said now, but what are we supposed to do in this situation? We all don't want our families to be attacked from behind.” Someone said.
“I'm going to reinforce more security for everyone to feel at ease. You all don't have to worry. No one would get past any of us in this pack. I promise you that everyone would be safe as long as I'm here.”
