Chapter 95 095
Damien's POV
I didn’t want her to come with me because the situation was very bad. I’m very much worried about her and the baby. She would get mad with only a little thing, and everything else gets her agitated.
It would be bad if she was to fall into a situation that would be uncontrollable. However, since she wants to rectify the situation, it made me happy to know that she is getting involved in matters of the pack, like a true Luna should.
I kept thinking back at what she said to me earlier. She mentioned that they were her own people, which means she actually agrees to be my Luna now. I don’t have to worry about that too much.
It makes me feel satisfied. Maybe the situation isn’t exactly the kind of situation where I would have expected her to agree, but it does matter to me that she agreed. Whatever happened wasn’t her fault, and I’m going to find those rogues.
When I find them, I will make sure to get rid of every last bit of them so that no one else would bother her anymore. Anyone that brings her trouble has to die.
I was waiting downstairs for her as she got ready to go. She got dressed, and I could see the baby bump starting to show in her belly. It won’t be a matter of time before we have our child. I haven’t thought of the names I’m going to give the child.
Everything else makes me excited. I used to think that I would be alone the rest of my life after what my ex did to me. I thought I wasn’t worthy of being loved or having a family. I’m glad she told me how she feels about me, and now that I’m realizing how I feel about her, I want to change for her.
I will do everything to make her be with me. I just don’t want to see her with any other men. I can’t completely change my character of being evil, but I will do anything to make her happy, even if it means laying low for a long time just to give her assurance that no one else would get hurt.
“Are you nervous?” I asked her. “You know you can refuse to go if you don’t want to. You don’t have to force yourself to do this.”
But she shook her head. “If I don’t do it, who will? I’m going to be their Luna. If I’m going to let this kind of small situation push me back, what would happen when there are bigger situations? Besides, only when I solve this would I gain a foothold in this pack. I have to prove myself. So no, I’m going to be strong.”
Her courage made me happy. Nothing is going to happen to her anyway. No one would be able to hurt her as long as I’m around, so there’s really nothing to worry about. We went towards the area where there are most people, and I asked her to stay in the car while I inspected the area.
I knew there were a lot of people waiting for me to come out. They wouldn’t dare to come to my mansion because, after all, I’m still the evil Alpha known by everyone. Even if they are my people, they still have to be careful because everything I’m being accused of could be their fault, and I’ve done everything to shield them all these years.
I know they used their status to bully other people and do a lot of bad things out there, but sometimes I don’t care because those people deserve it. Since they all want to look down on my pack, I would let my people do whatever they want. No one dares to mess with anyone that comes from the Flaming Moon Pack.
I came back to the car to look at her. She was still staring at the whole place, and I could see that she had a lot on her mind. “Don’t overthink things. I’m going to gather them around at the pack hall so that we can all have a good conversation.”
“Thank you very much,” she said.
But I shook my head. “Why are you thanking me for something that’s our business?”
She smiled at me again, and I drove towards the place where everyone would be gathered because I already sent a message to gather everyone. And when we arrived, I could hear a lot of them talking. They were saying all sorts of things, like they wanted to protest. I knew they would shut up the moment I came out of the car. The way I looked at them made them all keep their mouths shut. If it wasn’t for Amelia, I would have killed whoever said anything against her. It takes common sense to know that nothing that is happening is her fault, and they are trying to make her blame herself for it. If those rogues are killing people to have her, do they not understand that they should protect their Luna instead? Even if they’ve lost their family, their main goal is to go after the ones who hurt them and take their revenge. Why take it out on someone who isn’t at fault? I think sometimes we have lost the plot here.
“I know you all have grievances, and you are mad about the situation of the pack. Like I said, this was unexpected because there is no one who would dare to go against us like that if it wasn’t for those evil rogues. The main priority now is to find them and make them pay for everything they have done. But you all are here spreading rumours against my Luna. Do you all think I’m a pushover?” I asked them, going straight to the point the moment I stepped up.
They were all murmuring and saying all sorts of things. I was tired of listening to everyone, so I used my dominant powers to make them shut up and obey me. They all shut their mouths, and they were all listening to me attentively. I know I shouldn’t abuse my power as a Lycan, but I can’t help it.
Amelia immediately came to stop me. “Damien, I don’t think you should do that. It’s not exactly their fault that they are like this. Let me talk to them for a moment.”
“I don’t want anyone to disrespect you. Right now, the main priority is to stop these killings from happening. Do they think sending you away is going to stop anything? They are all too stupid to understand the situation.”
“You have nothing to do with these people, and they want to force us into giving up. I’ve always prided my pack as the best, and I’ve made everyone fear us. Now you want me to surrender to those petty rogues? Who do you think I am?”
I’ve growled making everyone flinch, including Amelia. I immediately stopped myself from going further.
“I’m sorry, Amelia. I didn’t mean to scare you like that.”
“It’s okay. I understand how you feel, Damien. Just let me talk to them,” she said, “and promise me you won’t interfere in this.”
I wanted to refuse, but the way she kept looking at me made it impossible for me to refuse.
“Okay, I’m promising you I won’t interfere in this. But you have to promise me that you’ll step down as soon as they upset you.”
“Okay, I promise. If anything they say upsets me, I will step down.”
