Chapter 43
Chapter 43
“Alright, I'll call Omega right now,” Jayden said in a final tone because I hadn't given him an answer.
Before I saw Jayden open his mouth, I quickly spoke up. “No need, Alpha,” I replied firmly. “We also have to get ready soon, and the palace is too busy today, so you don't need to bother them,” I said, trying to find a reasonable excuse because after I thought about it, if I moved rooms or if Alpha Jayden left this room, people would definitely wonder what was going on with the two of us, and that would definitely be very disadvantageous for Jayden and me.
“Erica, you're finally talking. You scared me.” Instead of listening to what I was saying, he was happy to hear me talking to him again.
For whatever reason, I really didn't understand Jayden's unpredictable way of thinking because how could other wolves be happy just because they heard that another wolf wasn't going to live with them?
“Alpha, forgive me, are you awake?”
I could hear Jayden's Beta knocking on our door, so I immediately looked away from Jayden because, of course, I still felt too embarrassed to look at him.
“If you're awake, I have important information for you about today's event, and I'll leave if you're busy right now,” Jayden's Beta continued to speak because Jayden was still silent.
“Go, it looks like they need you.” I spoke softly and saw that Jayden wasn't moving from his spot, so I took the initiative to leave him alone.
“It's up to you, I have to try on my dress first. Bye,” I said, quickly saying goodbye to Jayden before we felt the awkwardness we had felt before.
When I opened Jayden's door, Beta from the Alpha Ruby Pack immediately greeted me. Not only did he greet me, he also brought many people with him.
“Good morning, Miss Erica. Let me introduce you to everyone who will be helping you this morning. Do you mind?” Axel greeted me respectfully, and even the other wolves bowed their heads to me. None of them dared to look at me directly.
I could only smile slightly. “Thank you, Beta Axel, I don't mind.” I tried to look at the wolves with a friendly gaze, and I now understood that they were not only Omegas, but there were also nobles and knights in the crowd. Perhaps the knights were there to provide security because I was definitely a rebel, and there could be a rebellion since not all wolves agreed with their Alpha's sudden decision, which was a surprise to them.
“Thank you, Luna. You can get ready in this room.” Axel continued, causing me to quickly shake my head.
“No need, Beta Axel, I can use another room because Alpha Jayden might need some rest. Ah, I don't mean that Alpha Jayden might feel uncomfortable if many people enter his room, but there really aren't any other rooms I can use.” I kept correcting myself, sounding like I was trying to hide something, which definitely made me look silly, but I could only restrain myself at that moment.
For some reason, when I brought everyone into Jayden's room, I was the one who felt very uncomfortable because a few moments ago, an incident had occurred that made me feel ashamed in front of Alpha Jayden.
“All right, Miss Erica, you can use the room next door, and Noel, you can take Miss Erica to that room.” Beta ordered a female wolf, and the woman called Noel immediately led the way.
“All right, Beta and Miss Erica, please follow me.” I quickly nodded and it didn't take long for me to arrive at the room Beta Axel was referring to.
“You guys get everything ready, I'll take care of Miss Erica here.” After entering the room, Noel suddenly kicked everyone out, and I felt a bad vibe coming my way, even though I felt like I didn't have any problems with the woman in front of me.
I chose to remain silent and let the woman do whatever she wanted to do. I also wanted to see what she wanted to do to me because I could defend myself even though I wasn't very good at it.
All the wolves seemed to obey Noel's words. They all left me alone with the woman, and after we were alone, Noel stared at me intently.
“Excuse me, miss, but I don't think we've ever met before. Is there something you want to say to me?” I asked directly because I wasn't afraid of the woman in white for a second because I didn't feel guilty towards anyone.
“You're a very brave person,” the woman commented, looking at me cynically. Now she folded her arms across her chest and stared intently at me.
