Chapter 42
Chapter 42
“Erica, I'm the one who's wrong, so don't ignore me like this.” Jayden tried to persuade me again because I was still silent, not knowing what else to say to him.
“Erica, I was just joking, I'm sorry.” Jayden's next words made my tears fall without me being able to hold them back.
I didn't know why these tears suddenly fell, but I felt that this was the first time someone had apologized to me, even though Jayden didn't need to do any of that.
Hearing my sobs, Jayden looked surprised, and he immediately pulled me into his arms, which made me cry even harder.
I didn't know why I was crying so hard, but what I did know was that at that moment, I was just pouring out all the pain I had been holding back, and Jayden's gentle attitude had managed to make the overflowing emotions in my heart spill out without me being able to hold them back anymore.
“Erica, don't cry, it's my fault, okay?” Jayden coaxed me again and again, but he didn't just coax me. He also stroked my back very gently, making me feel even more comfortable with him and making me cry even harder than before.
“Sherly, why am I so emotional?” I asked myself in my heart because I was so unable to stop my tears from falling in Alpha Jayden's arms.
“Erica, don't be like this, I'm sorry. If you want to move rooms, I don't mind, but please don't cry like this, okay? Come on, Erica, every tear that falls makes my heart ache. Please stop, it's my fault. I'll call the omega right now to prepare the room next door for you to use immediately,” Jayden sounded panicked as he coaxed me.
I knew how Jayden felt at that moment, like a sense of guilt that shouldn't exist, and I gave it to him, but I didn't know why, in front of him, the emotions that I had been hiding all this time could just come out without permission and overwhelm me.
My continued crying made Jayden even more frustrated, and he pulled me away so that I would no longer hug him. I felt a little disappointed with Jayden's attitude, but before I could get really disappointed, Jayden suddenly attacked my lips.
For whatever reason, I was very surprised when Jayden made our lips meet, and what he did certainly stopped my crying because he was so greedy in eating my lips as if he was enjoying delicious ice cream.
With wet eyes, I looked into his eyes and I couldn't stop myself from feeling every comfort that Jayden gave me so suddenly. My body also seemed to really enjoy what Jayden was doing because I didn't feel any resistance from my body to what Alpha Jayden was doing to me at that moment.
But of course, as someone who was being kissed for the first time, I couldn't do it very well because I suddenly felt choked, I felt the oxygen around me thinning, and luckily Jayden was very sensitive and he released his lips from mine so I could breathe a little easier.
After Jayden let go of me, I quickly tried to inhale all the oxygen because Jayden's attack had made me forget how to breathe for a moment.
“Alpha, what are you doing?” I asked softly. Of course, I asked because this was my first kiss, and I felt a little disappointed in myself for not giving this kiss to my mate, but what could I do? I even felt that perhaps my mate had died long ago, or maybe I was destined from birth to be alone, without a mate, unlike the other wolves that the Moon Goddess had given mates to.
“I'm sorry, Erica. I was presumptuous to do that to you, but seeing your tears fall drove me crazy, and I couldn't control myself anymore!” said the man in a heavy tone as he wiped the remaining tears from my face with his thumb. I even felt that Jayden's movements as he wiped away my tears were very gentle, as if he were cleaning a very fragile vase, requiring him to be extra careful and very gentle in doing so.
"I know I'm guilty for teasing you, but please don't ever cry like this, okay? For God's sake, Erica, I'd rather you stab me in the chest with a sword than see your tears fall like that," he said, his sharp gaze never leaving mine.
Now I was completely silent. I didn't understand whether what Jayden said was the truth or if he was just being impulsive because a woman had suddenly started crying in front of him.
“Sherly, am I hallucinating right now?” I asked, trying to make sure I hadn't misheard, because Jayden's statement was just like the statements in the novels I had been reading to entertain myself a little while I was at Cendana Pack, which was full of problems.
“Erica, don't be silent anymore. Just say what you want to say because your silence and crying are really making me helpless, or do you want me to change rooms now, or should I just leave this room?” he said again anxiously because I was still silent because I didn't know how to respond to him.
