Chapter 41

Chapter 41
“Alpha, you're really pushing me!” I turned my face away from Jayden because I knew he was just joking around and trying to corner me a little.

“Where did I go wrong, Erica? Wasn't I just reminding you about the agreement we made last night, or did you actually just want to run away from what you said, hmm?” Jayden's voice now sounded heavier than before, making me reflexively turn to look at him.

“I didn't expect that a woman like you would also deceive an Alpha like me. Ah, I'm so unfortunate.” Jayden spoke again with a sad face, making me feel even more guilty.

“Alpha, don't be like this,” I said pleadingly because, of course, I was a wolf with a conscience that would not make the person who saved me regret helping me before.

“How am I acting, Erica? Fine, if you don't want to stick to what we agreed on last night, then I don't mind.” Jayden continued, his face now looking a little gloomy as he tried to get up from the bed we had slept in all night.

“Alpha, wait.” I plucked up the courage to hold Jayden's hand, preventing him from leaving the bed.

“Why, Erica? Was what I said wrong? I don't want to force anyone to keep their promise.”

Hearing Jayden's words now made me feel even more guilty because this was the first time someone had questioned what I had said.

"Erica, hurry up and leave this room. You don't need to say anything to him. He's just trying to trap us with guilt," Sherly suddenly commented.

I knew that since I returned, Sherly had rarely communicated with me. I didn't know if it was because my she-wolf was recovering or not, but I did feel that Sherly had been choosing to ignore me, perhaps to make me realize that what I had chosen might be the wrong choice. but I didn't mind because I was determined to make my she-wolf trust the other wolves again because I was sure that not all wolves in this world were heartless like the people from the Cendana Pack.

“No, Sherly, what Alpha Jayden said is not wrong. I can't deny anything I said because I was the one who broke my own promise,” I replied quickly to Sherly because I really wanted to run away, but I also couldn't make my she-wolf lose her trust in the other wolves even more. especially since I really needed Jayden right now to avenge all the grudges I had because now I couldn't just die without avenging all the pain I had experienced there.

“Miss Erica, if you don't want to say anything, please let me go. I want to get ready,” Jayden said, making me realize that I was still holding his hand.

But hearing Jayden's words only made me grip the man's hand even tighter. “No, Alpha, you can't leave!” I said quickly.

"Then what can I do now, Erica? Someone even forgot the agreement we made last night, so what can a poor guy like me do? Ah, this isn't his fault, it's my fault because I didn't make a formal agreement, so it's only natural that I was deceived like this,“ he continued in a sad tone, making me feel even more guilty because I couldn't go back on my own words.

”Alpha, please don't be so sad," I protested a little, of course, given Jayden's current attitude. “Okay, I give up. It's my fault, and I won't ask to move rooms again. Are you satisfied now?” I said, letting go of his hand because the longer I held it, the more comfortable I felt because his hand was so warm, and I realized that it was inappropriate for me to hold an Alpha's hand for so long. I also turned my face away because I felt a little embarrassed looking into his eyes.

“Why does it seem like I'm forcing you, Miss Erica?” Jayden said again in a protesting tone because what he said was true because right now I seemed like a victim because, after all, he was the one who should be angry, not me.

Right now, I actually felt a little scared. I was afraid that Jayden would suddenly change his attitude towards me, but I also dared myself here to take a chance to find out whether Jayden was really different from other men or not.

“Whatever you say, Alpha, you're right that I'm the one at fault.” I tried to get up from the warm, large bed.

Actually, I closed my eyes a little at that moment because I realized that what I had done was a little excessive and it was the first time I had ever tried to sulk because I had always restrained myself with Richard and I did this silly thing just to test Jayden a little to see if he really wanted to treat me well like a normal woman or not.

“If you don't believe me, fine. I'll just leave. It's useless for me to be in a place where people don't believe a word I say,” I continued, pausing for a moment before walking away from the large bed.

Actually, what I was doing now was a natural reaction for a woman, but I hadn't done anything this silly in a long time because I was actually imitating other women who would act dramatic when cornered, and I also saw that other men would quickly persuade their women. Honestly, deep down in my heart, I really hoped that Jayden wouldn't let me leave his room just like that.

“Erica, don't go, it's my fault. Don't be mad, okay?” Without me expecting it, Jayden suddenly got up and held my hand.

Seeing his response like that, I was a little surprised because now there was actually a man holding me back, unlike before when I was ignored and not even considered to exist by anyone in the Cendana Pack.

Seeing that I was still silent, Jayden opened his mouth again. “It's my fault, I was just joking with you. If you want your own room, I don't mind. I'll call the omega now to prepare everything, is that enough?” he asked, trying to convince me that he was really trying to persuade me.

“No need, Alpha,” I replied briefly. I actually answered briefly not because I was really angry, but because I just didn't know how to react since this was the first time someone had really acknowledged my existence in this world and treated me the same as the other women who were gently persuaded even though I was the one who was wrong.

“Erica, don't be like this. I'm sorry, okay?” Aloha Jayden gently pulled my hand, and suddenly hugged me from behind, making my body stiff with surprise at his sudden gesture.
