Chapter 28

Chapter 28
No matter how I feel right now, I feel like I want to bury myself.

“You don't have to be like that, Erica. We are partners now, and as you said, I will take a break.”

I could hear Alpha Jayden's voice mocking me, and I couldn't do anything about it.

“Alpha,” I replied, my face reddening.

I don't know why Alpha Jayden did this to me, but I feel very embarrassed now. I feel something I've never felt before, it's a little annoying but also very pleasant at the same time.

“Looks like you two need some time together. In that case, I'll excuse myself.” Axel's words made me feel even more embarrassed.

I could see that Axel was now hiding his smile, but I knew that the two men who were currently with me were ganging up on me, who knew nothing.

Axel left, leaving me alone with Alpha Jayden. Even Susana in this room became very awkward.

“Alpha,” I said softly, turning my face away from Jayden because I couldn't accept that I had been staying in his room all this time.

Besides, I'm not wrong to feel this way because I realize that only Luna can sleep in an Alpha's magnificent room. Even when I was the Substitute Luna in the Cendana Pack, I never experienced such luxury because Richard openly kicked me out of his room, and when I remember that, my heart feels cold again.

“There's no need to be embarrassed, Erica. I also want to apologize because I actually brought you here without anyone's permission. I was also a little confused about which room to give you because when I brought you here, it was already very late. Of course, I couldn't wake up the omegas to clean other rooms, so I could only-”

“Alpha, stop! You're making me even more embarrassed!” I said, asking Alpha Jayden to explain because the more he said, the redder my face became. Jayden's actions from the beginning had made me feel very special because not everyone could do what Jayden did to a stranger.

“I'm not going to argue with you anymore, Erica. I'll rest like you said.” Jayden seemed to start lying down on the other side of the bed. “You should rest too, Erica,” he continued with a chuckle that made me feel like I was being toyed with.

“ALPHA!” I shouted, feeling very embarrassed.

Hearing my shout, Jayden laughed even louder, making my face even redder, and for some reason, I actually liked this situation.

Richard POV

I don't know why, but after Erica left this place as I had expected, everything became chaotic.

The situation, which had previously been under control, had now turned into complete chaos. Like now, I had to face the Rogues who had entered the border because I had just found out that my soldiers, who were supposed to guard this place, had disappeared somewhere, even though I was sure I had paid those rotten soldiers a huge salary.

Defeating the Rogues is indeed something I can do very easily, but I still feel very weak when I have to face them every day. Now, I can't even close my eyes properly since Erica left this place.

If I had known this before, maybe I would have kept that disgusting woman, at least I would have kept her a place to live and I'm sure she would have been very happy if I had done that good thing for her because I'm sure her life is now wandering here and there because no one wants to accept her as part of another Pack.

“Damn it! Why does my chest hurt like this?” I said to myself. Unable to let my weakness show, I quickly slaughtered the Rogues who were now in front of me.

“You deserve to die!” In one fell swoop, I managed to kill all of those damn Rogues.

However, after exerting so much power, I felt that the power inside me was suddenly torturing me without me realizing it.

“Argggh, what is this!” I asked while clutching my chest. Even now, I felt cold sweat covering my forehead, and that wasn't all. The pain in my chest wasn't causing me to fall.

“No, there's no way this pain is related to Erica. There's no way that bitch is spending her time with another man,” I said in an agitated tone.

I began to realize that the symptoms I was experiencing were signs of a bone mate who might have come to me late. Not only late, but the curse could also come if the person I rejected had already found their soul mate.

“What are you thinking, Richard? There's no way that damn girl has found her mate, and maybe this pain I'm feeling is just because I haven't been resting properly. Ah, that's right, and now I have to go home immediately.” I began to convince myself that what I was experiencing had nothing to do with Erica.

I started running home while transforming my body into a very powerful wolf.

My wolf was a beautiful brown color, and of course, I did all this because I had to go home. I was sure that when I was with Hazel, the pain I was experiencing would soon fade because, after all, the power of a Luna is to be a natural healing force for an Alpha like me.

When I arrived at the gate of my palace, my mind returned to Erica's last look when she hoped I would stop her.

That memory tortured me again. I didn't know why the pain in my chest doubled when I remembered that incident.

I really don't understand. Besides, I never directly expelled her from this place, did I? I mean, I did remove her from the Cendana Pack, but shouldn't she have immediately apologized to me and Hazel? So that we could accept her back into the Cendana Pack, considering that she had also been helpful. But what did Erica do? Erica arrogantly left this place instead.

So don't blame me; I'm actually very soft-hearted, and Hazel is even softer than I am, but unfortunately, Erica doesn't know how to be grateful. He even openly drove Erica into the forest on the pretext that she wanted to say something important to Hazel, but what was the truth? She did all that on purpose because she had set a trap. She had placed the crazy Rogues there so that they could all kill Hazel.

Even after doing that disgusting thing, she didn't even try to apologize to Hazel. Not only did she not apologize, she also poisoned the minds of the other omegas to poison Hazel when Lunaku had just set foot in my palace.
