Chapter 47 — Dharma and Asha's Love

Asha's POV:

I looked into Dharma's eyes, listening to his conditions. He is cool as usual. His eyes show no feelings to anyone. I decided what to say.

"Cancel the marriage, Dharma. But you no need to take the trouble of seeing another match for me. Dharma, I am not refusing marriage as you said you couldn't dedicate your time to family or didn't want children. It's ok with me.

But I can't stay quiet seeing you going in the wrong way to reach your goal. Even today, I am sure you had a perfect reason behind everything you do. I trust you, but as a wife, you too should trust me to the point where you can share your deepest secrets of life. I find no trust in your words. So let's stop the marriage," I said.

"Sure, this is what I love the most in you. You never compromise in anything just like me," Dharma said, smiling to increase my anger.

"Wait, by any chance, do you keep these conditions before me to cancel this marriage? But why? Are you going to do something that makes you away from me?"

He just smiled again.

"I love you, Asha. I want you to be happy. At that time, I thought marrying you makes you happy. But now you should learn about staying away from me."

"But why?" I asked with tears.

"I can't answer your question. You will know the reason soon. Pack your luggage, Asha. You are going to London for your Masters. I already set everything for you."

"I won't go anywhere. Why are you behaving like this, Dharma? Why do you want me to go away from you? Whether you marry me or not, I will stay here with you. That's it," I said, wiping my tears with my hand.

"I hate arguments, and you know that well. Now do what I say."

"I won't."

"I said to do what I say," he said seriously, looking into my eyes and holding my wrist tightly.

Tears dropped from eyes, and he left the hold.

"I am sorry. I will just come. Change your clothes into formal clothes and pack your luggage," Dharma went off saying that.

He came after some time, but I didn't pack my language yet. He looked at me.

"What did I say to you, Asha? Didn't I ask you to get ready?"

"I already got ready for our marriage," I said.

"What the hell? I asked you to get ready to go abroad for your studies."

"Dharma, let's talk few things frankly," I said, looking into his eyes.

"First thing, you have no right to order me as I am not your wife and have no relationship with you. The second thing is I am not a kid, and I am mature enough to make my own decisions," I said.

"Do you want me to show my right on you?" He said seriously.

"Show me not the right, but what gave you that right. Did you mean helping me gives every right over me to you?"

"Asha," he shouted.

"You can't make me scared of you by your shouting, Dharma. I am leaving the house right now. Don't ever interfere in my life. Until you marry me, you will have no right on me," I said, irritating him to make him marry me.

I stood up and about to go, but he held my wrist and threw me on the bed. He locked the door.

"Oh, are you going to make me your wife in this way? I am ready, Dharma," I said, giving a seducing smile to make him angry.

I know well he won't do anything to me as Dharma respects women a lot though he acts as if he disrespects women.

He sat on the bed beside me.

"Asha, please understand. I didn't want to drag you into my messed life. You won't be happy with me. Unfortunately, if anything happens to me all of a sudden, you will become all alone. Please try to understand me."

"Dharma, if I live one day as your wife, it will be enough for me. With those memories, I can live lifelong. I won't be an obstacle in your way. Because I know whatever you do, you will do with a good reason. Being your wife makes me happy though it takes me to face many challenges. I am ready to face even death if necessary for you," I said, and before completing my words, Dharma kissed my lips.

He deepened the kiss taking me into another world. He left my lips after some time.

"I don't know whether I will be perfect for you or not and a good husband or not. But, you are perfect for me and will be the best wife. Let's get married," he said, making me very happy.

I hugged him.

"You are the only one who knows well about me. I love you, and now I don't want to miss you," Dharma said.

We went to the temple. Dharma called very few people for the marriage, and Dheer and Mitra came to our wedding. Dharma tied the knot with me in front of Dheer's family and his close associates.

"Asha, this is your gift on behalf of Dharma's parents. For us, Dharma is always our son," Dheer's father said.

Dheer's parents gave saree, necklace, and bangles to me. Dheer gave flight tickets to Dharma.

"What is this?" Dharma asked Dheer.

Dheer whispered something in his ears.

"No way. I can't go on a honeymoon to Singapore for a week. I am a Home minister."

"There are no important works right now and no emergency, too," Dheer said.

"Can't your husband give even just a week for you, Asha?" Mitra said to me.

"I can understand him. He won't say no unless he is swamped. So I never have any complaints on him," I said, smiling and holding his hand.

"Ok, I am accepting your gift, Dheer. We will surely go to Singapore for a trip," Dharma said.

We both reached home. Dharma got a call, and he left for Secretariat.

From today I am his wife. I feel fortunate to become a wife for a person who loves, cares, supports, and protects me every second. I love him a lot.

Maids decorated the room. I got ready, putting on a beautiful saree and some jewellery, and waited for Dharma. It's 8 pm, and he didn't come home. I called him, but his mobile was switched off. I was awake till 1 am, but there is no sign of his arrival. He came home the next day evening at 6 pm. He came to the room directly.

"Asha, I am sorry. Actually..."

"It's ok, Dharma. You no need to explain it to me. If I ask for an explanation, it means I didn't understand you. No problem"

"You are very special, Asha. I am sorry once again. Tomorrow we shall go to Singapore. For one week, I will be all yours. Are you happy now?"

I nodded, and he kissed me on my forehead.
