Chapter 48 — Dharma’s Past

Dharma took me to Singapore. We went to a few places and enjoyed ourselves a lot.

He switched off his mobile for me and spent the whole time with me. I saw another side of Dharma as I experienced his love and not his seriousness. He made me forget my past completely. I still remember his tears for me when he found me in a pool of blood when he saw me while I was sold to someone. From that day, he never left me. Every second he cared for me though he had no relationship with me. Slowly I have fallen for him. His feelings too changed for me, and finally, we were a couple today.

We enjoyed a week there, and it's time to return to India.

"Asha, I want to say something to you," Dharma said, and I sat beside him.

"I found my parents," Dharma said, making me happy.

"Wow, as soon as we return India, let's meet them. We will bring them to us Dharma. I am so happy for you," I said, hugging him.

"We can't do that Asha. I knew my parents on our marriage day itself. I went to see them but after seeing them, I changed my thought of meeting them"

"But why? From many years, you were searching for them. But now after finding them, why don't you want to meet them?"

"Do you remember me saying that I got married in my childhood?"

"Yes"

"Do you know whom I married in my childhood? She is Mitra. When I went to see my parents, I saw Mitra and Dheer with them. I didn't want Mitra to know this," he said, confusing me.

"But Dharma, Mitra is also married now. What if you meet your parents? Childhood marriage is not legalised. Now you both chose your life partners. What's wrong in that?"

"I didn't want Mitra to know that I am Rajat. In my childhood, after that bomb blast, someone admitted me to the hospital. For two years, I am in the hospital. After that, being a child, I didn't understand where to go. That is a new city, and I didn't understand anything. The doctor who treated me with humanity for two years joined me in an orphanage. After that, in my college, I found Dheer, Jay, and your brother. Three people who are very close to me.

After Kali's and Sarika di's deaths, our lives changed completely."

I tapped on his hand, seeing him feeling sad, remembering those incidents.

"It's ok. Relax. Do whatever you feel good," I said.

We returned to India, and he became busy with his works.

Dheer's POV:

I found the people who were the reason behind telecasting that news blaming Mitra. It's the same minister who tried to molest her in the past. I inquired about him. He had no relation with Jay neither had any connection to the cases Mitra handled. I didn't understand his motive.

In my secret inquiry, I found that Dharma is very close to that minister. I also came to know that he is the reason behind Dharma getting the Home minister portfolio. I, too, heard that this minister was the one who owns that prostitute company to which Asha was sold after Kali's death. I can save my Mitra even if Dharma tries harming her. But what about Asha? Is she safe?

I decided to meet that minister, the head of the portfolio "Women and Child Development." His name is Vishwendar Agarwal. I went to meet him, taking his appointment, and saw Dharma there. I stopped going inside, listening to the name Asha. I decided to listen to their conversation though I hate such things.

"So Dharma, how do you enjoy your honeymoon with Asha? How is she? Is she your type?" asked Vishwendar.

"Ok, not as the girls you enjoy. But similar to homely type girls. Takes time to train her as I need," Dharma said.

Are these things to discuss with other people? He is insulting Asha's self-respect.

"Will I get a chance with her?" Vishwendar asked.

"After all only for you I married her," Dharma said.

"You are the one who saved her from me at that time Dharma. I am waiting for her from 2 years."

"I knew it. If I didn't save her and if she was dead, it would have become a big issue. That's the reason I saved her till now. Now just wait a week and she'll be all yours," Dharma said, shocking me.

Does he save her for helping this minister? But now she is his wife. She loves him a lot, and how can he do this with her. I should save Asha from him but will Asha trust my words? I need to talk to Mitra first. I went off without meeting that minister.

I called Mitra to find when she will return home. I went to the station and got a phone call saying a girl was killed at her hostel. I went there to check.

Seeing the scene, I felt so sad. Everywhere it's covered with blood. Someone hit her on the head to death and dragged her to the washroom, and left her body there. The murder happened early in the morning, but they intimated us so late.

I enquired about her roommates. They said they don't know anything. I asked if she has any love affair, but they said she doesn't have any love affair. I enquired hostel warden, but he too didn't give any information useful to the case. We sent her dead body for post mortem. The doctor said she was hit by a tool similar to a hammer. One of my teams doubted whether she was molested, but the doctor said nothing happened like that.

We went to college. Her friends said she was a brilliant student and loved by all her teachers and friends. I enquired whether anyone tried troubling her or had a crush on her, but they said no. I didn't understand how to move the case further.

The doctor said she was murdered at 4 am. How can someone enter into the hostel at that time without the warden's help? How can her roommates unable to listen to her shouting when someone hits her? How can someone know that she wakes up at 4 am? Someone from her hostel who are very close to her might have helped the culprit. I decided to enquire about the hostel students and warden once again but in my style.
