CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY EIGHT
CHAPTER ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY EIGHT
VIVIAN'S POV
I watched as Alpha Kyle's men were being lowered to the ground. They were born actors. They laid on the floor as they pretended that their feet hurt. The whole pack watched as the whole thing unfolded right in front of them. I looked up at Alpha Logan, and he was looking at me as well. I didn't have time for any of that with him. It was good that the whole thing had practically worked.
“You have been allowed into the pack,” he announced, and I tried as much I could, not to laugh. I looked over at Amelia, and she was doing the same thing. She was practically biting the insides of her cheeks. It was all worth it. The whole pretence of being an obedient little girl to Alpha Logan and it was all going to pay off soon. I held my breath as he looked down at me, never taking his eyes off.
I waited for him to scream at me and ask why the hell I was outside. But he didn't. He just ended up looking away like I was normal and part of the crowd. I looked away as well. By the time I looked up the terrace again, I looked right into the eyes of the number one betrayer to ever exist.
Anna.
I didn't even know what she was doing there to begin with. She had her hand to her head that was bleeding profusely. I knew immediately that Alpha Logan must have been the one to hurt her. Vivian of the past would have hurried there to help her. But i didn't have that energy to waste this time. She finally looked down, and her eyes locked with mine. All the pain of her betrayal cam crashing down, and I didn't even want to do as much as look at her. I watched as her eyes widened.
I hurried into the palace immediately, not wanting to see her. “Excuse me,” I said, walking past other people as I made my way through the grou of people that had gathered. It didn't matter. I just didn't want to see her. I was just about to walk into the room. The room Alpha Logan had pronounced himself . I was about to it my first leg in, when I felt a touch little on my shoulder. I took a deep breath, before I even attempted turning around.
It was Anna.
The urge to tell her to to leave me alone because she was nothing but a backstabbing bitch was high. But I was calm anyway. I didn't want to cause any scene that would bring Alpha Logan's attention to me. That was the last thing I wanted for both her and myself. None of them were to be seen with me. I was more or less of the plague that they should have been avoiding.
“What do you want?” I asked, and she flinched. I wanted to ask her why she was pretending so bad, but I couldn't even do that as well. Was it that I was becoming so soft? That I couldn't even approch the people who hurt me, and confront them for some reason.
Somewhere at the back of my head, I knew that, that was the reason why I hadn't gone to meet with Derek just yet. I didn't want to break down again. And I honestly didn't want to start explaining all that to Amelia.
“I came to apologize, Vivian. I should never have done everything that I was doing. It just seemed to make sense to me at that point in time. I was too overwhelmed.”
I laughed out loud. “Well, I hope you keep getting overwhelmed with things like your current situation.” She frowned, obviously enjoying the jole too because of how funny it actually was if she wasn't the one going through all those things.
“Well, I'm not mated to Alpha Derek anymore. If that helps.”
I folded my hands across my chest. “You played along with my husband when he accused me of cheating. You accepted being his mate without considering that your friend was dying. You were happily sitting at family dinners and attendimg functions while I tried to figure out how life was going to be for my child and I. So please I'm not to blame of I don't have a forgiving heart.”
She shook her head, obviously trying to bite back the tears. “All I just want is your forgiveness. The ability to be your friend again.”
I took in a deep breath. “Fine,” I said, after taking some time to think. “ I've forgiven you. But didn't think you have gotten a chance to come close yot or me or show g things that took. That baby girl, hoping that I handled the whole thing just the way I should.
She seemed more happy that I even did as much as talk to her. But it didn't matter. Maybe she really needed all that rest anyway. She was actually going through a lot in the hands of Alpha Logan. Oh and just for the records, she deserved it.
There was a small smile plastered in her lips as she finally left. I exhaled sharply, and turned left just the way I wanted to. I headed to the west wing, and walked to the farthest room down the hall.
I knocked twice at the right pace as I entered. For the first time in a while, it didn't feel like I was being watched.
I walked in just in time to see the men peel the fake skin that Alpha Kyle had provided them with. He was a genius. Of course, he was supposed to know the positions that his best friend was going to play. My job is to deliver the information and watch them to the dirty work. As fatt they were crying in pain downstairs, they were secludedly quiet.
Amelia was there in a corner as well, helingnione of the men remove his own fake skin on his legs.
“Is everyone okay?” I asked, and they all nodded. “So I have to commend each and every one of you for being here and doing such great job. Even I have been impressed by the acting skills that were being displayed downstairs.”
There were chuckles that went round, but I wasn't used to giving little pep talks on things like this. I just hoped that I was going to do the best I can.
“All I want to give is a gentle reminder. To remind you that you a diamond. Unrefined, raw and yet sought. This is just phase one of the plan, you guys. And phase one has it's branches. So shall we get even more stuff done, and it an end to everything wrong what has been happening in this pack. We have honestly had enough.”
They nodded, and I could tell they they were with me. I thanked them, and left the room. I thanked them for the little time they had given me to talk to them. I was already planning to send one of the maids over with drinks.
Amelia followed me out immediately. “You are doing a good job” she said and I nodded. Before I could even say more, she pulled me in for a hug. I wrapped my hands around her immediately.
“It's for the revenge,” the whispered. “And justice.”
